"Room and surrounding area were excellent. Staff was either great or bad no in between. Food needs improvement; I would rate it fair at best. Red wine should be served from 65 to 68 degrees; not room temperature. Drinks were good.
Resort was cozy; pool, the beach as well as the island were great. Amenities and activities were very good.
II would recommend Sandals as a resort but I would caution any expectancy about the food served. It is not up to par. Hamburgers, pizzas and the like can be cooked anyplace. Having a nice sit down dinner is another story.
Finally, I felt in every restaurant but the Irish pub that I had to eat in less than an hour. The waiter was on top of us every time, (to order the drinks, the food, to take the plates even before finishing our dinner, to order dessert). Dinner seemed a 100 meter race. No relaxation at all.

"We stayed at Sandals in Nassau in December 2012. We were extremely disappointed with this resort and DO NOT recommend it to anyone.
The strongest advice that I can give is to be very, very careful on how you book this hotel. I have been doing all-inclusive vacations since 2004, and I have come to expect certain things when vacationing this way. Sandals has an intricate, tiered system for all-inclusive, as all-inclusive does not necessarily mean all-inclusive. We were astonished that we had no access to liquor in our room in the beginning as well as a lack of room service. So, if you decide to stay here be cautious in the approach to booking.
While the resort itself is great with spectacular views, a crystal clear ocean, great beaches, and a private island, the overall experience for us was miserable. We changed rooms 3 times, resulting in a stressful first 2 days. Our first room given to us had no balcony, despite booking a room with a balcony. The response we were given was that for our level of booking, they were not required to give us a room with a balcony. As I had read other reviews, I voiced complaints, and we were transferred to a room with a balcony.
The next issue was with the liquor in the room itself. I was under the impression that this would be included in an all-inclusive; however, going back to the tiered system, this is only included with the Concierge or Butler services. Again, we voiced our complaints, and we were upgraded to a Concierge level, but had to transfer rooms again, resulting in multiple check-ins to the front desk on our second day to see if the room was available.
When we first arrived, our bags were given to the concierge service for placement into our rooms. We did not see them again for 2.5 hours, and so were left without swimsuits and belongings for this time period. Additionally, during our second room change, we were repeatedly told that someone would come by and take our bags to our next room. As this never occurred, we then began carrying our bags across the resort, and only when one of the pool staff saw this, did we receive assistance with our transfer.
As to the rooms, they are mediocre at best. I again expected a 'quality' resort such as Sandals to have decent furnishings and lavish bathrooms. However, it was more of a hotel experience, with a tub-shower combination. Again, I have never before stayed in an all-inclusive resort with this type of set-up.
The service in the rooms was horrendous. Many times we asked for simple things such as additional towels, and it would take at least an additional phone call to ensure their delivery to the room. The room we were staying in may still need new towels to this day.
The food was decent. I highly recommend Kimono's, as this was a pleasurable dining experience. Also, the staff at Cricketeer's Pub is outstanding.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed in our vacation. In talking to other couples who were there, many were experiencing similar issues. Even guests who had booked the Butler service would complain that the Butlers would not answer the phone calls when they were in need of service.
My advice would be to look around at the multitude of other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico prior to booking this trip. For the amount of money you spend at this place, you could definitely get more bang for your buck at other places. If staying in Nassau, I strongly recommend finding a different resort than Sandals."

"We have experienced many of the all-inclusive vacation resorts thru out the Bahamas over the past 15 years. This is our first time to try this resort and we will definately be coming back. The accomodations were excellant as well as the high quality of the food. Upon our arrival we were greeted with the most friendly, warm and welcoming staff. "-No one mentioned the property was underconstruction.
-The bed in our room was broken and not repaired.
-Several of the restaurants had low quality food; Burger King is better
-We ordered a pizza from their restaurant and the cook said, 'Are you trying to kill me?'
-I ordered a drink by the pool and 30 minutes later still had no drink
-When we went to sail on one of their boats they were working on one boat(their were many) and would not stop and get a boat to sail on their words were, In 30 minutes.'
-All three hottubs were down on the coldest day and they worked on them all day.
-Everyday there was someone cleaning the pool in the middle of the say. I should never see that.
-One day a hottub went down and the management was sitting inside it at about 2pm. We took a photo.
-Some of the service in the restaurants was poor quality. A woman took my plate while it was still half full and didn't ask if I was finished."

"The staff members are amazing! The friendliness of the staff alone is worth the trip. We loved going to the private island for R&R. It was such a relaxing vacation. The details throughout the resort were very impressive. Even the food was tasty! We are definitely going back to another Sandals resort in the near future!
