The Kaiserin Elisabeth hotel is a beautifully maintained and architecturally beautiful building in the centre of Vienna. It is only minutes walk from the Ubahn and St Stephensplatz. The interior of the hotel is stunning with beautiful wall coverings and furnishings. Our room was much larger than we would have expected and was beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The bathroom also was large and had a larger than normal bath with shower, The fittings were of high quality and there wa... Read more

The hotel is very nice. The rooms were of a good size and the location was perfect. Easy access to the city center attractions and restaurants. Main shopping street within yards from the hotel entrance. Taxi to/from the main train station ran between 10 - 15 euros for 2 people with luggage. The staff were great and the room was kept very clean, prices were very reasonable for the location. Would definitely stay here again.

I recently spent several nights at this excellent hotel, centrally located in Vienna near Stephansplatz and just off Karntnerstrasse. Everything about it was perfect. Spacious, and tastefully decorated rooms, superb and personalized service, a long history and distinguished list of former guests. Just a wonderful experience for anyone wanting to partake of Viennese culture and hospitality. Breakfast served on porcelain crockery under chandeliers, with staff in traditional costume was a delight. ... Read more

We booked a non-smoking room and when I opened the door, the smell of smoke hit me in the face. I tried spraying my Febreeze to see if it would help, opened the window and waited about 40 minutes. When I returned to the room, it still smelled of smoke so I called the front desk to complain. The first thing he said was "you were already in the room for an hour, what do you want me to do". I told him I tried to Febreeze it to see if it would get better, but it didn't. He said, "well it s a non... Read more

Stay here, seriously. Perfect boutique hotel in a great location. A short two block walk from Stephan Place and the subway stop. About Six blocks from the Opera. In the centre of everything. Great restaurants and shops only steps away. The front desk staff were wonderful. Very helpful with good recommendations on restaurants, travel directions and tour suggestions. Room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We had a very quiet room. Breakfast was a treat and we chose to eat at the Hotel ... Read more

Wow! What a beautiful hotel and what a perfect location! The area is lovely and so convenient to major attractions, retaurants, cafes, and shopping. When I booked this hotel, I thought it looked beautiful, but truthfully speaking, everything was beyond my expectations. The photos online don't quite do it justice. In fact, the decor is reminiscent of the royal velvet, white marble, lots of gilding.......what's not to love? We had booked a standard room, and we were pleasant... Read more

Very pretty hotel. I had a room for one a it was quite large with a separate sitting area from the bedroom. The location cannot be beat as steps from a subway stop and walking distance to many things. I stayed here just before Christmas and the whole city was lit up beautifully

I've stayed for a couple of days for a business meeting. Clean, large rooms, excellent service and fantastic location: practically on K√§rntner Stra√?e and very very close to Stephansplatz. Nice breakfast with local tastes (not the typical continental). A really good choice overall!

We stayed in Vienna for only two days, and I never got my bearings terribly well. However, from what I experienced, the Kaiserin Elisabeth hotel is very well located, as we found numerous things to do within 5-10 minutes walk. Our room was pristine, and so was the small dining room where we ate breakfast both days. Breakfast was good btw.

Two good things about this hotel is location and the helpful staff. The location is literally within 500 feet of the subway exit for Kartner Strasse at the St Stephen Square stop. You are right in the middle of the action of Vienna and can walk to the Ring Road and Hofburg complex. As mentioned there is a subway stop right at the hotel where the main Vienna train station is two stops away. The people at the front desk were friendly and very helpful with questions and maps. The rooms were lar... Read more

We absolutely loved this hotel. The Kaiserin Elisabeth is within easy walking distance of pretty much everything in the city center. When we opened our windows we could hear the bells from St. Stephen's Cathedral tolling the various services, along with bells from other churches nearby. Beautiful! The hotel staff is friendly and efficient and speaks passable English. The breakfast buffet was included with the cost of our room, and included excellent coffee as well as a delicious variety of hot a... Read more

What a beautiful hotel and right in the center of things in Vienna, yet removed just enough to feel out of the way. Rooms were adequate, staff helpful, clean, comfortable, and not overpriced! Loved our stay here.

the location is amazing - right off the main square (Stephenspatz) and a quick walk to all major sites, but still on a quiet side street. Also 1 block from main metro stop. (Great metro system!) We only had their breakfast one morning, but it was very nice and the baked goods were delicious. The service is nice and helpful, but not "warm and fuzzy". The room was very nice and spacious and quiet, although our view was of a utility area in the middle of the hotel (but glazed windows covered the... Read more

We arrived at Wien Mitte using the airport train. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk from Wien Mitte, but it is a nice walk through Stadtpark. The hotel doesn't massively stand out, so we had a little trouble finding it. Once we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff were helpful. My room was very nice, it had a separate toilet and bathroom, although the toilet area, was cramped. The A/C was very good, only slight downside on the room, was that they are quite frugal with their towels. Also, s... Read more

Spent two days in the center of Vienna at this lovely hotel, with the most helpful staff, and visited the nearby cathedral, and Mozart's house, both in walking distance. Took convient City trains to the three museums I wanted to visit to see the Klimts, and Schiele paintings! Great location for short visit!

We booked three nights into this hotel which certainly was not easy to find because it was in such a busy area with lots of tourists mingling and hard to see the sign. Anyway, found it and checked into hotel. It was noon and were told room not ready yet and could we come back and check later. We were extremely tired so decided to wait in the lounge area. Waited and waited and no one came to tell us room was ready. My husband went to check at reception at about two o'clock and found that that roo... Read more

I recently stayed at Kaiserin Elisabeth for a few days while visiting Vienna for pleasure. This is perhaps the 4th time I have stayed at this hotel over 20 years. The best part about the hotel is the location, just off Stephanplatz, and a very short walk from the U-Bahn. For 4 Euro, I took S7 from the Wien airport, changed to U3 at Landstrasse Wien Mitte, arrived Stephanplatz, all in about 30 minutes. Hotel is well marked and easy to find. This is one of the nicest hotels for the price in t... Read more

Location: Centrally located downtown on a side street near St. Stephan's Cathedral and the pedestrian zone. Style: Historic hotel that has hosted a number of famous guests over the years. Suited to guests looking for a very quiet hotel with old-fashioned Viennese charm. Rooms are clean and traditionally furnished and have down-feather bedding (fortunately no bedspreads or throw-pillows). The bathroom, with a walk-shower (although some rooms have tubs), was spotless. Where possible, I prefer to stay in hotels which have a local feel to them, rather than a 'cookie cutter' hotel run by an international chain which could be anywhere in the world. I first stayed in the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth in about 2008. I returned in September 2016. It definitely has a Viennese touch to it and in some ways feels to belong to a different age with its double windows and little antechamber to the room. Furnishings are on the traditional side but all amenities are there and... Read more

Beautiful excellently maintained interior, absolutely lovely bedroom with everything we needed. The bed was comfortable - we had such a good nights sleep. Very nice hotel, clean and well maintained. Rooms comfortable. Excellent location for tow and most sites are walking distance. No tea making facilities in room. Breakfast a little limited. Shame about construction site noise directly opposite entrance which starts work at 06:30am and diggers working all day to fill the skips. Skips changed at 07:00 just before the bin collection every morning. Overpriced but paying for location.

Stayed five nights here on a solo trip. I booked directely with the hotel in March, and asked for a single room with a bathtub and street view. Was very disappointed when I arrived in the evening, and got a double room with shower at the back to a courtyard. We thought you would like a quiet room, was said. Well, then I had not asked for a room to the street. But what was most important for me was the bath. That was one of the main reasons for choosing this hotel in the first place, since it see... What a lovely introduction to Vienna. This hotel gave you an immediate rush of "old Vienna" in a refined manner. It is located in the hear of the city with amazing access to the major sights of importance. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and in excellent physical condition. It felt opulent! The bathroom was spacious - including an extremely large walk-in shower and an equally satisfying bathtub. The wi-fi was of good consistency, always working! I recently spent 4 days in Vienna and I couldn't ask for a better hotel than Kaiserin Elisabeth. It is located a short walk from The Graben and St. Stephans Cathedral off of Kartnerstrasse -- the 5th Ave of Vienna. Kaiserin Elisabeth has an understated elegance with comfortable, clean rooms, marble floors and old-world Viennese charm. Best of all, it is very affordable for such a fantastic location.

Stayed here for two nights. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice. Coffee better than the tea. Centrally located. About five minutes walk to the Opera House. The only downside was the building work taking place outside our room (104) which started very early in the morning. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Stayed here several times before, as it was a good deal and close to the center. Last trip, the yelling on the street kept me awake all four nights. Nothing the hotel can do to control that. Take note though, a neighboring restaurant has an outdoor cafe/bar set up right below the windows. The aged mattresses were wallowed out, offering no back support whatsoever. I don't mind the threadbare furnishings, but a good mattress is a must, and no longer the state of things here. Breakfast was good, ... Read more
