3.5 stars. NOTE the construction noise issue discussed below and be weary of staying here at the moment (May 2016) Location: itā??s fine, though not amazing. The neighborhood is ok, and it is easy to get to other neighborhoods, but it is neither situated ideally for some of the cuter shops and restaurants of an area like Neubau nor for the tourist sites of the Inner Stadt. You can walk to any of these areas within about 15-20 minutes, and you can walk to the Karlsplatz Ubahn in maybe 5 minute... Read more

It was our second stay in Saint Shermin. Everything is in order. The location is just convenient. You can find restaurants, food stands and Billa super market just in walking distance. The room was really clean and well facilitated.

Great location, an easy walk from the center and Karlsplaz ubahn stop. Room was clean and comfortable, with great shower and bed. Smallish, but thoughtfully appointed. Perfect place if you want modern amenities without a lot of fuss. Best for independent travelers.

We've very much enjoyed our stay at Saint Shermin. Very well run, polite and helpful staff and a short walking distance from the Opera House. If we get a chance to go back to Vienna we certainly would not look any further. In short top marks! š??¬š??§š???

I loved our "My Home" property in which my fiancƩe and I stayed in for ten days. It was a wonderful apartment-like hotel that allowed us the freedom to come and go as we like. It was a perfect vacation in Vienna thanks to St. Shermin!

Rooms were surprisingly modern given the oldish building that they were in. Easy walking distance to Opera house and city center. Plenty of restaurants and food venues nearby. Its not a 24hr hotel but the friendly staff are there when you most need them. I would encourage them to upgrade the entrance from the street as at first it gives a bad impression. No TV channels or movies in English.

Lovely big room, chaise long, great view from windows. Excellent location to museums and event venues. The staff were all friendly, and the rooms were very clean. The champagne at 5:00 each evening clinched it! Will stay there again next time rather than the big chain hotels.

We stayed at Saint Shermin for three nights in July 2016. We absolutely loved our visit and St. Shermin B&B made our stay most memorable. Our room was very cute, clean, and comfortable. The location of St. Shermin is very convenient and close to all main tourist attractions. For sure, if we get to visit Vienna again, for sure St. Shermin will be our first choice.

Fabulous location. Only 10-15 mins walking to St. Stephen's. Very modern, super clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Chocolates on pillows. Chaise chairs in the room. The room/building is VERY quiet. Despite there being construction DIRECTLY across the street we couldn't hear a single noise. This is amazing as I'm a light sleeper and usually wake up to every noise. Lovely bath products to use. Great wifi with log in. Tea/coffee available always in the lobby. Alcohol (champagne) for purchase in the ... Read more

The location is perfect for tourist as it is at walking distance from city centre . rooms were clean and the staff was more than eager to help and soft spoken . Because of restaurants downstairs the washroom had a problem of unbearable stench .

I found this hotel to be exactly what I wanted. It was not expensive, clean and well-maintained, near to central Vienna, and also close to the conference that I was attending. There is a minimal staff that work normal business hours, so the hotel is accessed by a key code that is emailed in advance.

Nice hotel. Nicely sized and decorated rooms but very small bathrooms. Was not an issue for us though! Hotel is in a great location and near the subway with easy access to the main train station (2 stops)

It is not your usual hotel nor a bed & breakfast. If you arrive at an odd hour, you are given key pad no to open the entrance on main door, go up a stair and open the door to office with the same code. Your room key is at reception. On plus side, its very good location, rooms are fairly large and is clean. But for the price you pay, you expect some thing better. Our room over looking a side street was quite big but had a bath tub right in the room!! Even shower cubicle had see through glass do... Read more

Enjoyed my 3 night stay here, though it's more a B&B than a hotel. Arrived around mid-day and was given my room which was a plus. However the carpet was still damp from their wet vacumming, so I opened the windows and went out sightseeing in the meantime. Not too much of a hassle as I needed to get lunch anyway, and it was good to know the carpets were thoroughly cleaned. I do note however that my expedia booking stated check-in started at 11:30am, so maybe they should adjust their check-in time... Read more

Even if the reception is not open all day, it is possible to enter the hotel with a door code. We arrived around 2 p.m. and an envelope with key was at the reception. The room is very stylish, nicely decorated and perfectly clean. It is true that it feels more like being in a B&B rather than a hotel. We appreciated small chocolates on the bed, the tablet with recommendations and tips as well as a map with places to visit in the walking distance from the hotel. There are a lot of nice places w... We stayed at Saint Sherman recently for two nights. They organised an airport transfer when we arrived and the driver was great - knowledgable and took us right up to reception. The room was very spacious, had a great bath and awesome decor (room 21). Staff were friendly and very helpful and the location was right in the heart of Vienna. Walking distance to all the landmarks. The only downside was the airport transfer on the way to the airport from Vienna - more expensive then quoted by receptio... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights in September. Iā??m not sure how I would describe the Saint Shermin. As main other reviewers have said itā??s much closer to a B&B as what you get for your money is a room. You could probably say there and have no contact with a member of staff. Receptionā?? is manned for a few hours a day and tea and coffee making facilities, along with an honesty bar can also be found there. If you visit the website where they talk about champagne then you can find this in a frid... Read more

We loved staying in this nicely decorated room just south of the old part of town. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a nice glass of champagne in the evening. When you arrive, the front desk may not be open but that is no problem, you just need to know that the reception area is on the second floor.

I stayed in Room 20 at the St. Shermin for 2 nights. After flying overnight and arriving in the morning, they kindly allowed me to check in early. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. My only minor complaint would be that the window opened to a small open area between buildings that was shaded. It always looked like a cloudy day until you looked up to the top of the buildings. The air conditioning was great, the wi-fi a little slow. The staff was helpful and there was coffee and... Read more

This "B&B" is tiny, just 8-10 rooms. The front desk isn't always staffed and the elevator didn't work when we arrived. It's quaint and in a good location but definitely lacks amenities and space. Our bathroom was TINY. The TV had no English channels. The room was just okay. The breakfast was just okay. Yes, it's affordable but next time we will spend more and stay at a proper hotel.

It was quite an unusual checking in experience when there was no staff around, however it was well organised and we easily found our way into the hotel and to our room. We stayed there for 3 nights in room 12 and it was quite spacious for 2 traveling friends with two large suitcases. It's located only a few minutes walk away from the train station, which takes you directly into Vienna's city centre. Lovely place, and to be welcomed with a glass of champagne was perfect! We were in room 16, which was lovely & spacious. The bathroom was super clean & modern yet very compact - however this didn't bother us. Nice touches with the hotel tablet instead of info book in the room & nespresso capsules. I would definitely return to stay again

Cute little family run b&b with exceptional staff who helped us book train tickets and went out of their way to please us. We found the neighbourhood is close to city, tons of restaurants the markets and historic places of interest. Our only complaint was lack of coffee pods. Opted out for breakfast as always on the run so couldn't rate. Would otherwise recommend if travelling to Vienna and looking to feel more like a local.

This hotel is conveniently located close to the Naschmarkt and a short walking distance from the city center. Breakfast is rich and nice, in their beautiful small dining room. Staff The bs very helpful and kind. Our room was an upgraded one and hence very spacious. The bathroom was small and the internet connection was problematic. All in all it's a cute and beautiful little hotel. It is not a cheap hotel.

Lovely little modern hotel in Vienna. Great location for exploring. The TV did not work in the room and the hotel doesn't have staff that you can call upon to fix it but we were not there to watch TV. We did the open top bus tour which is very worth while to see such an amazing city. But would definitely recommend this hotel as a great base, very modern and chic!

This was indeed one of my best hotel experiences. Didn't know what to expect since I've never stayed in one of those hotels that are situated within a regular housing complex but this stay was definitely worth the experience. Great ambience, odd but clean and tres chic rooms with a great mix of old, new and the akward (I had a cookoo clock over my bed...). Super comfy beds where I slept like a baby, very nice and helpful staff and then there's of course the free champagne.

From their website, it is hard to know what to expect. Is it a bed and breakfast or a hotel? I would say that it doesn't matter, it is a great place to stay while exploring Vienna! Like many reviewers, you have to expect a slightly smaller room and an even smaller bathroom. I would say that the bathroom matches some of the small ones I experienced in Japan. With that said, the room is very comfortable and welcoming. It is definitely a place you will look forward to returning to every day. ... Read more
