This is a good, understated hotel which is unassuming from the outside but very nice in. The Conran design shows through. The foyer is pretty with a nice courtyard and the rooms are functional but pleasant in their simplicity. Breakfast was good but more Austrian than metropolitan. The staff are excellent. In terms of location, it's close enough to be able to walk to virtually all the central sights but far enough to be quiet. Being right next to Karlplatz u bahn means you can easily get o... Read more

The interior of the hotel is very modern. We found it on the SPG site when we were stuck by a last minute change in plans. It is not a typical SPG full service hotel but never the less, it is comfortable and well situated. There are teams close by and it is just a few minutes walk from the Karlsplatz UBahn station. Another 5 minutes walk and you are at the Opera House. There is a grocery store across and down the street a block. The desk is not always manned, but there is usually someone the... Read more

The hotel was very nice - room was spacious and clean. Equipped with Apple computer. Breakfast was good, nice selection of food and fruits. Maybe one negative note, the room (first floor) was facing the main street, and the traffic noise (especially the tramway) was quite loud - no problems in the evenings, but early in the morning. Location of the hotel was perfect, near subway and tram, and about 500 meters from opera and 1km from main museums.

The Das Triest hotel is a modern, well equipped hotel within easy walking distance from the centre of Vienna. The rooms have all the niceties expected of an excellent 4star hotel, body and hair shampoos, bathrobes, bedroom slippers, mini bar, ironing board etc.

We arrived at 11.30 on Friday to find we had been upgraded to a junior suite which is always a nice start to a trip. As was the very powerful and hot shower before bed. The beds are firm - my wife struggled on the first night - and we faced the street and we heard the tram trundling along a few times. We live close to south west London so we are used to planes/trains making some noise at night so it didn't bother use - if you live in a place where it is quite, it might bother you. Staff are ... We spent 3 nights in a deluxe room - very spacious, light and airy, quiet and calm. A great place to relax after hectic site seeing in Vienna. just a short walk from Karl Platz and the Opera house, also near the Naashtmarkt, a fun location to eat al fresco. Excellent buffet breakfast including smoked salmon and Sekt. Only slight niggle was that sometimes the breakfast room was full and we had to stand and wait for a table. However, overall a great place to stay and we would definitely book agai... Read more

Stayed here for a long weekend recently and it was very pleasant. Part of the Design Hotels group apparently, so mostly modern and trendy with some older bits and a nice enclosed courtyard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Decent room with all the features required. Bathroom well featured with a very powerful shower and Moulton Brown toiletries. A very good breakfast buffet to set us up for a day of sightseeing. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. The bedroom curtains could provi... Read more

The first impression is that the Triest is old-fashioned, but it does not take long to appreciate the timelessness of Conran's design in the public areas and the rooms. It is very comfortable and the staff most helpful. The inner courtyard is a delightful place for a quiet drink, or indeed breakfast. The breakfast is really excellent including a range of breads, meats, cheese and home-made jams (raspberry is to die for). The location is very convenient for a tourist. The most useful tram 1 passe... Read more

Stayed here again for the 4th time I think. This time I got a nice, actually huge apartment at the end of the hallway which meant that this time I had comfort and also quiet room, no more sleepless nights due to high heals banging on the tiles. Breakfast is really good, staff is mega friendly, location is excellent. The issue with the shower still exists, and it is the case in many rooms as my friends also said the same thing. So you cannot set an even temperature on the water, so it constantl... Read more

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Small quaint boutique hotel, good location just a 5 minute walk from Vienna‚??s historical center. Very basic when it comes to amenities. LOCATION: 4/5 Just outside of the attraction-packed historical center, it‚??s pretty easy to walk from this hotel. There is also a tram stop right in front of the hotel that can brig you to the tram loop that goes around the historical center. There is a small grocery store across the street and a handful of cafes and restaurants within a... Read more

The hotel has a very good location - short walking to the center, tram goes at the same street. Quiet place when you have a window to a quite zone as we had. A big surprise was when we were upgraded to the suite which was the biggest space as i can imagine. Very stylish and luxury boutique hotel.

Checkin folks are not very pleasant! Bartender is a very nice fellow. Courtyard is nice Centrally located, rooms are quite large and bathrooms are well appointed. St Stephens cathedral is a short walk. Parking is vey expensive and not available at the property.

I checked in on Monday July 4th late evening and was disappointed by several things: - No SPG number in the system --> did not catch my Platinium level - Reception was barely welcoming, did not try to make any effort - Room 602, although very nice and clean,is too small. When I asked for a better one they could only offer a room without AC (does this still exist in a 4* hotel?), moreover hard to beleive that the hotel was full - Finally, no free bottle of water in the room, everything is charged... The hotel is nice enough (well, except that there is annoying, noisy construction on one of the wings of it during the day). My bigger issue is it promoted as part of Starwood, and I learned about it and made my reservations via SPG. Unfortunately, SPG and Das Trieste are just loose partners, didn't communicate about my needs, and I ended up getting billed extra (without warning) when I arrived because we needed a cot (a charge SPG had assured me would not be the case). Then, Das Trieste did... Read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside it is very pleasant, with rooms set around the courtyard. Unfortunately there was a major construction going on whilst we were there, which meant it wasn't very pleasant to relax in after a day's sight-seeing. I was travelling with my elderly mother, so we needed to be able to rest. All the rooms have double beds, but they made up a single temporary bed for me, which was very comfortable. I liked the Mac computer/tv provided in the roo... Read more

Firstly, we received an email from the hotel a week before our stay to inform us that they could not accommodate us on our first night due to construction works, which they claimed we had been informed of at that time of booking. This was not the case as there was no mention of construction when we booked on Expedia in April (nor was there on the hotel's website). So this was disappointing to begin with. In fact, our first night, at the Kaiserhof across the road, was the best of our stay, wit... Read more

Despite ongoing renovation and bad weather, had 3 very nice days in "Das Triest". Special trat was the up-grade to a suite. Staff is extremely polit and helpful. Breakfast is good, particular if the weather is nice and you can sit in the Court yard. Excelletn location.

Came here with my husband got put in a room right next door to construction that was loud enough that you couldn't hold a conversation. After making a call we were moved a little while after. I am not sure why they would even put us in that room knowing full well the noise was unbearable. This was insulting. The room we go moved to was run down. The staff was useless through out most of the stay, the general manage in particular. I would not recommend this hotel and would not come back here. No... Read more

The title says it all. Nowhere on the website or during all the numerous email communications I had with the hotel was I told that the hotel was undergoing major repair/construction. Not even when I checked in! Imagine my consternation when I was woken up rudely around 8 am with a huge noise right above my head! For a while, i thought this might last just a few minutes but the sound continued - moving from one end to another. I could not even hear the TV in my room! When I asked the front desk... Read more

Highly recommended place to stay overnight. Just a few minutes away from legendary Hotel Sacher and Stephanplatz. Very nice patio for breakfast. Avoid 4th floor rooms with tiny windows.Reasonable price for 5 stars. Some refurbishment is ongoing.I will definitely revisit it.
