We stayed 4 nights, mid May. Upon arrival, A/C hadn't been turned on yet, but by the time we left, the weather had warmed up and the A/C was turned on. Free Wi Fi, but you have to login every 2 hours, excellent location. Pierro at the front desk was truly a gem. Very helpful and polite. Clean rooms, but squeaky floors - I guess that's part of the charm of an older building. One thing to note - there is a bar nearby and sometimes the noise at night can be of concern, but it wasn't terrible. ... Read more

We have visited this hotel many times over the last 10 years and have never been disappointed. Location is ideal with transport links, excellent restaurants and bars close by. Buffet breakfast is plentiful. However the best thing about the hotel is the staff. Cleaners, dining room staff and especially the reception staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - nothing is too much trouble to them. We already have our next visit planned.

First of all, the hotel is well located downtown, near everything but be aware that the parking is at 1.5km. When we arrived we couldn't get to the hotel because the streets were closed for several events. So we had to pay a parking for our car, and then move our car to the hotel, then to another parking for the night. I called the hotel to make sure there was a parking nearby and they said yes... well 1.5 km... after an axhausting day, not what we expected. We were 3 in the room, but they ha... Read more

My favourite hotel in Vienna. Fantastic location (easy to get to from the airport or train station) and 5 minutes walking distance from Stefansdom, great staff and the best ever breakfast buffet (beautiful selection of breads, cereals, cakes, meat and cheese etc and even champagne on some days). The hotel does not feature air-condition which might put some people off in the very hot Viennese summers. I think my title sums it up: this is a beautiful classic hotel in a central location, but its crowning glory was the amazing breakfast buffet each morning. It was fantastic with a huge selection! The hotel is located in one of those beautiful old buildings in central Vienna at the end of a quiet little pedestrian street, and the rooms have a very classic ambiance that set the perfect tone for our visit to this beautiful old city. It was also very clean. Our one and only issue was the our toilet... Read more

I found the Hotel Austria online, and it looked the perfect place for my partner and I to stay while I was at a conference in Vienna. I had some questions regarding the room and location and had immediate and clarifying response from the hotel to my emails. I was so impressed with the service, I recommended to other colleagues who were coming to the conference to stay there too. The location is excellent - only a block from Schwedenplatz U-Bahn station, and a short walk to the Dom and major tour... Read more

My partner and I spent 4 days here while he attended a conference. We couldn't be more impressed with the old world charm and great service we experienced here. Think doileys, chintz, lots of red and gold. Breakfast was substantial European with eggs, ham, cheeses, bread, bread and bread. Coffee is better from the individual ... Read more

We chose this location mainly for its very central location close to the centre of the old town and to the communication hub Schwedenplatz. Its location in a small side street to Fleischmarkt meant that it was extremely quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in helping us with concert tickets and arranging transport for our early departure. The breakfast selection was very good although not luxurious with yoghurts, basic warm dishes, salmon, cheeses etc. You can choose various c... Read more

Wonderful access to all the classic sites and public transportation. Near lots of small cafes, restaurants and other quaint eateries on less traveled side streets. Comfortable rooms with nicely appointed furnishings and modern baths, while maintaining an old city feel.
