My wife and I spent 2 nights here last week as part of a bus tour with a group. Even though our room on the third floor and faced Landstrasse (a busy street), it was quiet. The room was large and well appointed with a large bath with a shower/tub. The hotel had a restaurant and bar, but there are plenty of eating and shopping options within the immediate area. The hotel is part of an old authentic biedermeier (retail) arcade, Sunnhof. While updated and modern, the building is well over 100 y... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights in early April. Spacious room, separate toilet (from bathroom, which is great) good buffet breakfast, and an excellent in-house meal none of which could be faulted. If you have a straightforward room booking, would not hesitate to recommend this place; it is well-located for the centre of the city, is quiet at night despite being near a main road, and they even have lovely purple umbrellas on loan when it is raining! Our booking, however, proved to be a challenge for th... Read more

What works: 1) Location - close to market, city centre and train station. 2) Architecture: The alley that leads up to the hotel is charming. The hotel's architecture is beautiful. The garden behind the hotel is calm and soothing. 3) The bar and restaurant of the hotel are very large, can accommodate many large groups. 4) Rooms are cosy and have the wooden finish, brimming with all amenities. What pains: 1) Service - The staff isn't good with English language. 2) Rooms are tiny - We didn't have ... Read more

I was in this hotel for three nights. Room was beautiful, clean. Hot water is always available. TV is working. WiFi is excellent in the room. Hotel is quiet. Everything is clean and nice. I've had breakfast included in the price. It was buffet with wide variety of food presented. Hotel is situated in old building. Decorations, beds, chairs, tables,... everything looks like taken from some other period in time. People working at the hotel are there when you need them, right on time to provide you... Read more

The hotel is near the city center and very close to the metro. The style is a bit old and local - so it's not the regular modern hotel. If you want a different experience and you are not looking for the best new hotel this hotel is a good choice. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed it.

We stayed here for 3 nights in May for our brief visit to Vienna. It is in a good location and is in walking distance (if you wish) to the main city sights of Vienna and quite near to the park. We found the hotel quite small and compact, the room were extremely small with little room for more than a bed. It was difficult to use the room than more than a place to sleep or change.

This is my third time at this hotel and every time is better than the last. A very comfortable, well run luxurious place to spend some leisure time. Just one night with breakfast this time and the same pleasant experience as always. Everything is a cut above other hotels with the same star rating. I look forward to our next stay there.

Coasy rooms and attractive building only 10 minutes walk from CAT airport train and Prater park. Restaurant services below average and breakfast also rather standard, even though possible to be enjoyed on peaceful terrace. Service friendly but standard. Big minus from slow elevators.

We booked the classic rooms from booking.com and received many previleges during my stay. 1. To carry our big luggages to the privilege rooms which are reached only by stairs without any assistance from hotel staff. 2. To enjoy knee-down bathing experience since bathroom's ceiling in this privelege room is enough for half a man only. ( I already asked to change the room but not successful ) 3. To use a plastic spoon provided by the 4 star for my coffee. Trust me, it gave u a very privelege feel... Read more

Situated along a cobbled alley, is the delightful Hotel Biedermeier. I stayed in a privilege room on 2nd floor and loved that it was quiet. You could also open the window when it was cooler, which I loved. The room was comfortable and had everything needed, including a hairdryer and a safe. The staff were friendly and attentive. They also offered help to me to book ballet and concert tickets. Breakfast was delicious, a wide variety of items. It was buffet style and you could choose to sit inside... Read more

Just a few blocks from Wien Mitte, tucked away in a charming close. Abundance of restaurants, shopping, and transportation choices nearby. Room was comfortable and clean; internet connection good. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. A very good value; would definitely stay here again.

We spent 3 nights here recently and I would not hurry back. The rooms were clean, comfortable but on the small side. The air conditioning struggled when the outside temperature goes up. Meals were of the buffet variety and very average, the trays of food were not being kept full, the temperatures were not hot enough and the layout of the buffets chaotic. Drinks in the restaurant very expensive. Location is close to a subway station which is useful.

I stayed for just one night after arriving at Wien Mitte on the airport train. The hotel is nicely located for this, though a fair stroll from most of the tourist attractions. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. The forth floor would appear to be a converted roof space, and in parts there is not much headroom. It's actually tough to get in the shower without banging your head, and I'm not a big man. The space between the wall and the bedded not allow my size 9 shoes to e... Read more

The best thing about this hotel in my opinion is the great staff it has. I bought something from eBay and they kept it for me until the date of my check-in. One of the items did not arrive in time and they refused to receive it as I asked them to do. I left the hotel at 2:30 a.m. and one of the employees helped me to carry my things until my car arrived in the front of the hotel, what took a few minutes. The room is also very nice, very beautiful and with good space. The only thing that I did no... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is a bit away from the main sights but there is an underground station close by, you also have to go up a small alley to get to the entrance. The rooms are clean and of a reasonable size. There is a terrace where you can have meals or drinks outside. The staff are professional and friendly.

Recently, I stayed here as a part of a tour of Europe. The first appearances were that the hotel was very pretty and in a nice part of the city. Upon getting to my room though, it was a different story. There were scuff marks on the wall. One wall had a line going across it. I'm not sure if it was from furniture that used to be there or from something else. One of the corner walls was starting to become worn and you could see where the wall covering was coming off. The bathroom door had a water ... Read more

This is an old style hotel tucked away. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the service good. Bedrooms were a good size and everything was beautifully clean. It is in a good location near to shops and the lovely buildings of Vienna. Well recommended.

There are Many ok restaurants in the area and a market and the Hundertwasserhaus in Walking distance and the metro is nearby. The breakfast was fine, but rather busy due to Many guests in large groups. Receptionists were friendly and our room small but nice. We had twin beds and a bathtub. This hotel is in a very good location for the centre of Vienna. It is down a little alleyway and is very quaint. However our bedroom was small and dingy with no space to put anything. One door of the shower banged into the sink and the other into the toilet. Other members of our tour group had larger rooms with baths, so we certainly drew the short straw!! The breakfast was adequate and the service very good. The hotel was very full and it was sometimes difficult to get anywhere near the ... Read more

The breakfast in the morning is very good with different sort of baked goods, meat selection, smoked salmon, oats and cereal, omelet made to order... and so on. The garden is also very nice and peaceful. The AC never worked properly. Since the building is older the area is not very suitcase friendly. Gym is very very hot. Almost like the sauna door was always open. They have 1 weight machine that gets the job done and 3 cardio machines, sauna, and a solarium from what was advertised. Staff was v... Read more

I stayed at this hotel 30 years ago, as part of a package tour, and it was very good then (although I don't think it was a Mercure hotel at that time). It's still very good. There is really no perfect hotel location in Vienna, because the attractions are quite spread out throughout the downtown area, but this location isn't bad. It's handy for the train coming from the airport, which stops at the Wien Mitte station. (There's also a subway station at Wien Mitte). From Wien Mitte it's about... Read more

Had a short stopover in Vienna and booked this hotel because of nice experience and also because it is close to the Wien Mitte - CAT station. Warm welcome, early check-in, easy check-out, vouchers for drink - perfect as any Mercure.
