The Das Opernring hotel is conveniently situated. Virtually across the road from the Opera House, about a 25 min walk from the Wien Mitte station which is where the City Airport Train (CAT) operates from. Although it's quicker to hop on the U-Bahn (subway) station and get off at Karlsplatz (green line U4) which is only a couple of stops and just around the corner from the hotel. Very easy to get to Schonbrunn palace from here too as again, you can take the U4 at the nearby U-Bahn at Karlspatz t... Read more

The rooms are large and well appointed and with built in wardrobes as are common in Europe. Very cLean, comfortable beds and large bathrooms. Soap bottle dispensers unsatisfactory with one liquid soap for body wash, hair wash and hand wash - all the same bottle. Otherwise good towels, mirrors, lights, safe and hair dryer. Large windows, pleasant breakfast room and plentiful breakfasts. Restaurant is two mins from Opera House, five from the Albertina and 10 to the Hofberg or St. stephensplat... Read more

For over ten years, we stay at this hotel twice a year when en route to Budapest on business. It is ideally located -- opposite the State Opera, minutes away from the main shopping, cafe, Stephansdom, etc attractions of Kaertner Strasse, yet not in midst the (over-)crowded tourist activities. The hotel is older but well maintained, with an exceedingly accommodating front desk. The rooms are of adequate-to-generous size, with small sitting corner, a tiny hall are separating bathroom from sleeping... Read more

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel and were very pleased with it. The room was spacious with very good beds and also with slippers. The bathroom was bigger than normal and the shower had good pressure. The breakfast had all you needed and even offered "champagne". The breakfast room was bright and very nice. All of the staff were very nice and helpful, and the hotel is perfectly situated very close to Inner Stadt and also close to the opera. Public transport a few metres away. The hotel is not fanc... My wonderful visit to Vienna was completely spoiled by theft (money and my ipad) from my room. When i came back to the hotel after a lovely night in Vienna, I found an unlocked door to my room, my things were looked through and stolen. I reported the theft to the police, but was completely disappointed by the way the hotel handled this. There is only one manager at the reception during the day and night and people can come in and go as they please, no one stops them or asks whether they are the ... Read more

Hotel is centrally situated and walking distance to most things. Staff member on reception through the day who's name I've forgotten was very helpful, booked concert tickets, explained the u Bahn etc. The breakfast room was probably the highlight, lovely, We were on the 3 Rd floor adjacent to the breakfast room so noisy from early in the mornings, no view, our room was clean but very dated. The shower over a quite tall bath was difficult to safely negotiate. Nightclub noise could be faintly hea... Read more

He helped us very much, he is like an officer information. This hotel is in the center of the city, you can walking everywhere. We were very glad.

The Das OpernringHotel has a good location, just across from the Opera. We were easily able to catch the subway to Schonbrunn Palace and take a tour. Since we were only there one night, I can only give so much information. The gentlemen at the desk very very nice when we checked in. There are a few steps up to the elevator, so you should know that ahead of time Our nice sized room was immediately next door to the breakfast area, which was very convenient for a cup of coffee early in the mo... Just finished a lovely weekend at this great hotel. The hotel is wonderfully positioned just minutes from the center of Vienna on the Openring. Outside are a plethora of trams and bus stops, although we strolled from the CAT station in just 30 minutes with luggage. There are also places to eat very near by, and the hotel is almost opposite the stadt oper. There was also a Spar very close by for those snack needs. The room we had was very clean, with safe, mini bar and TV. We were upgraded to a... Read more

Four couple traveling together stayed 3 nights. The location was great. Walking to the Hapsburg Palace, most of the main museums, the opera and summer concerts featuring Mozart, Hayden and Strauss. Breakfast is plentiful and good quality. Surprisingly good machine coffee, espresso or cappuccino. Richard, at reception was very helpful with transit, restaurant recommendations, has a great attitude and speaks good English. He also keeps the Gummi Bear plate full at the reception desk! Great hotel in a fantastic location within walking distance of all major attractions. Reception staff incredibly helpful. Breakfast is impressive and plentiful. Very clean bedrooms, very spacious and lots of little toiletries supplied which is a real bonus. The room was very warm so we requested an extra fan which was supplied within 5 mins and we were very grateful. I cannot commend highly enough for value and location.

We has a wonderful 48 hrs in Vienna which included this fantastic boutique Das Opernring was perfect for us. Within steps from the Opera House and easy access to public transportation, galleries and shops we were in the right place. We were greeted by the most wonderful man named Harold who is the Concierge, bellman, front desk reception all tied into one. You are in excelled hands with Harold. Built in 1912/13 this hotel is within mins of the Opera House & walking distance of many of Vienna's iconic buildings, landmarks & designer shopping precinct, as well as rail & bus networks. Room facing Opernring roadway on the first floor meant traffic noise was noticeable but not too annoying. No air-conditioning with portable fan providing adequate relief from 30C days. Wifi in rooms were intermittent & not consistent enough for clear conversation, only text messages. Harald Schubert & the ... Read more

I am very satisfied of my stay at Das Opernring as the location of the hotel is ideal and very central with the main sights of interest within a 10min walk from the hotel. The only negative points is the cleaning of the room that was not up to standard (used tea cups and glasses were not replaced/washed, the room was not tidied up) and the fact that the wifi connection was unsecured.

Wonderful loaction dead centre of the city. Stayed in a junior suite facing the courtyard, and room size, amenities and gorgeous bathroom far exceeded expectations. Check in was a pleasure with the Saturday afternoon concierge. However......over a 4 day stay, breakfast was always absolutely unchanged, and the sole breakfast room waiter so silent and unsmiling as to seem surly, although to be fair, since he did not speak even when meeting requests, it's hard to judge. My only real complaint was t... Read more

The hotel is located right next to the Opera House, not far from metro. Rooms are weird, dark, old, not very clean...bathroom towels were grey and had holes. I would not recommend this hotel, you can find a better deal in Vienna.

The room was OK, and the people at the front desk were welcoming, but there was no aircondition. We were there during the summer, thus we had to sleep with the windows open. Since most rooms are facing a pretty busy street the noice was an issue.

Excellent location. Right slam bang opposite the opera ..in the middle of the historic district. 5 minutes from the metro..this hotel has everything going for it in terms of it's location. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Our check in was smooth ..we were able to check in before the usual 2/pm time and we were upgraded as well. Nice breakfast selection. Good spacious rooms. Our only grouse was the lack of air conditioning but then the portable fan made up for it..

We really enjoyed our stay at Das Opernring. We had reserved and paid on line. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Oper exit of the Karlsplatz metro stop. On arrival we were welcomed enthusiastically by the evening concierge (I didn't get his name but he was wonderful. So bright and full of joy). Our room was on the 4th floor. It was large, airy, light and quiet. The bathroom was also spacious. It had all the usually amenities. Nice towels. Breakfast was served in an airy room on the 3rd floor... Read more

I stayed in this hotel 3 nights during August 2016 and my accommodation was very good and comfortable. The location is very nice where you can reach a lot of attractions and shopping area on foot. During my stay on Vienna for about 4 days I didn't use any public transportation for this reason.

As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were made welcome. Upgraded to a suite , the room was spacious, clean and had a view of the State Opera House. The breakfast room was light and airy. Choice was plentiful and there was fresh coffee!! Location was excellent, within walking distance of many of Vienna's attractions, shops and the wonderful coffee houses with their array of cakes and chocolates. Definitely a great choice of hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The only downside for us were the beds weren't very good on our backs. But we have back issues. Other than that the staff has been very helpful! The location is great! 10 minute walk to St. Stephens Cathedral in Stephansplatz. Close to the subway and the buses. SchonnBrunn is 25 minutes or so including walk to the subway, the subway ride and the walk to the palace, from the hotel. The room was clean, nothing excessive. The view was very pleasant. We were absolutely thrilled with our stay, we will certainly be returning to this hotel. Excellent location in the city centre, walking distance to the opera, main shopping area, lots of bars, restaurants, the history museum and most of the sites. You can also catch the hop on hop off bus from further down the road. The metro is also a couple of minute walk away. Tip: Avoid Tricolori which is a few blocks to the left of the hotel and try Vapiano. Although Vapiano is a change the food was fresh... Read more

This hotel is in a great location right next to the opera house and very close to public transportation (subway and Ringstrasse or tram). While the bed was comfortable and bathroom large, the best part was their excellent free breakfast. We went to breakfast at a cafe around the corner our last morning in Vinenna, and while good, the hotel breakfast was just as good. Would recommend if you're looking for a comfortable yet basic room in a great location.

What a great hotel for our last nights of our Eoropean vacation. Room was great!! Bedding and pillows were soft. The views were amazing as well. The free breakfast every morning was perfect and great beginning to our days. The best part of or stay though was the manager Harold who was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed!! It's so nice to have people really care about you. My husband and I stayed for honeymoon and we would absolutely come back and highly recommend it here!!

Located on one of the major rings across from the Opera House this hotel is perfect for exploring the city. We had a 1 Bedroom suite - large, sunny and nicely furnished. The breakfasts were great. It is within easy walk distance of most everything you would to see if you are in Vienna for a few days - and the subway is a block away. The only issue was the bathroom design - the tubs are bit steep (and I am a little less agile than I used to!) so it the installed a handle to grab onto when... Read more
