The hotel is located 15 minutes waking distance from the city center and about the same distance to the train station. The rooms are ok , the bathroom is a bit small , the breakfast was ok. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We spent 4 nights at Motel One. The location is great, within walking distance to everything. The room was clean, very spacious with great view of the river and mountains in the background. The shower was amazing and the wifi was pretty quick too. We only had breakfast one morning due to busy schedules but the selection was great. Loads of different types of tea! The staff were great, they work really hard behind reception and the bar and are always available. No issues at all. We would cert... Read more

Here for a wedding weekend of friends. Location is their main asset. Everything you'd want to see is walking distance. Breakfast is pretty good. Rooms pretty spacious. The parking lot is tiny and was full. Street parking (until Friday 7PM, weekends are free of charge) worked out well though.

We stayed here for a few nights while visiting Salzburg and had an excellent stay. The decor of the hotel is very modern even though it is classified as a budget hotel. We had booked a bigger size family room and were given a loft style room on the top floor with amazing side views of the river and the fortress in the distance. The family room had plenty of space for a double couch bed for kids and a small area for luggage and storage. Bathroom was a bit small and the room however, lacked some a... Read more

We chose this place since we could walk to the train with our suitcases and also along the nice riverside path to town. Turned out both are very doable. The place feels new, modern. Clean and with useful little shelves by the bed. In front they have some chairs and couches were you can sit outside. Nothing special but we enjoyed the late afternoon sun there reading books. Nice breakfast buffet. Only wish they supplied a summer blanket instead of just a down comforter.

The hotel is located near the river, we request the room with the river view, but we got the room on the opposite site facing to the old building. Very disappointed. Room spacing is average, clean, and comfort. There is no mini bar in the room. Short walk from the Salzburg Hbf and not far from city center.

The hotel location is between train station and old town. Both side need a walking distance of around 15 mins. The hotel is trendy and new. I like the signature blue colored decoration. The room is comfortable overseeing the Salzach river, with 2 big glass windows. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Basic equipment such as hair dryer, towel, shampoo, TV is readily available. For transportation, bus 27 route go through train station, a street next to this hotel and Salzburg oldtown

Far from the attractions. You can walk to the train station, if you do not carry large luggages. Attitude of the staff is indifferent. The room did not feel too clean, there are some dust cover the hanging rod and wardrobes.

The location is a bit away from the sights and the railway station, though not far as such. As with Motel Ones, the rooms are functional, basic spartan and value for money. Breakfast was about adequate and space for dining is limited. Many forms of transport transport are readily available.

This is the same as most Motel Ones all over Europe. It has the usual modern décor that makes it look like a more up market hotel. On the other hand amenities are basic, enough for a comfortable stay. There is soap, shower gel, hair dryer and tv, that's all. It is not too far from the train station which is important when you are lugging heavy luggage. Once checked-in it might be a 15 minute walk to the old town but at least you can go light without luggage. This was important to us traveling b... Read more

Hotel is very clean, conveniently situated with just 15 min walk to the old city. Car park is paid additionally and also there is tourist tax which brings the booked price up. Rooms facing the river offer calming and nice view. Bar tender is very well qualified and drinks are perfectly mixed. Perhaps the rooms could be a bit larger, however breakfast and the service in the dining room make up for this. On the leaving day we had some plans for sight seeing and there was no problem about leaving o... Read more

My partner and I stayed here during a multi-stop trip through Austria and were pleasantly surprised by this gem we'd booked. Room - The room is modern, our first time staying in the motel one chain but the decor is lovely and similarly in the public areas too. Make sure you ask for a room facing the river and as high as possible or you'll be kicking yourself. The view is beautiful and a real asset right on the river. Clean and comfortable, bathroom slightly small but for the price no grumbles, ... Read more

We have stayed at three motel ones in Germany so knew what to expect from this hotel. We were given a top floor room with a balcony and a wonderful view of the river and the old town. On the last day we were given deckchairs on the balcony as well. The room was compact as we expected but more storage space than we have previously had in a motel one. Bathroom was as expected but the shower was not as powerful as the ones we have had in Germany. We were there on our anniversary and the hotel le... Read more

Staying just one night but can create some short summary of pros/cons. Pros (+): -Look and feel (modern, new, fresh) -Location (at the river, 15 mins walk frim the city center) -Rooms (new, clean, sound isolated, big enough, good air conditioner, good shower, good TV) -Breakfast (quite rich for 2 stars and included into accomodation price) -Service (just fine) Cons (-): -Price for parking (13 Euros is too high) -A bit chaotic canteen organization : lack of normal tables to accept crowds of hun... Nice rooms in modern design. Comfortable beds. Free wifi. Nice lounge chairs outside by the river . Boring neighborhood but convenient with bus stop to the airport just outside the hotel and 10 min walk from train station. Old town is 15-20 min away walking.

We stayed at Motel One for one night, on our way to Germany. The hotel is situated approximately 2 km walking from Salzburg dome. The room we got was clean but small and lacking basic amenities: no phone, no refrigerator and no toiletries. The temperature in the room couldn??t be changed and it was very cold. The hotel has a parking in the back but we were told that it was full and we cannot park there. We didn??t have the chance to further check whether that was true, because immediately our... Read more

Stayed for 1 night and had a lovely welcome by the man behind reception, we had arrived on an early flight so the room wasn't ready so we were able to leave our bags and come back later for our room. Check in was simple and we were given a room on the 4th floor overlooking the River, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. The location was excellent as its just a 15 min walk along the river to the main town. The hotel at night was very quiet and didn't hear any other guests w... Read more

Came in for a flying visit to the festival - just 2 nights sadly???. This hotel is a good basic choice. Nice location in side street fronting the river. 10 mins walk to main railway station and (a very pleasant) 15 mins into town. So you're a bit away from the old town - which lowers the price and the noise! OK, it's not plush but rooms are comfortable with air-conditioning and very good sound proofing. Breakfast was plentiful - though the tables not great. For a hotel with 120 + rooms the are... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay at Motel One Salzburg! The location is great with pretty much everything accessible by foot, and the staff at the reception were nice and welcoming. We popped in early just to ask if they could store our luggage until the check-in time, but were pleasantly surprised as we were allowed to check in early. The room was spacious enough and absolutely spotless. WiFi worked like a dream. My only minor complaint is the breakfast, as I felt it wasn't necessarily worth the pric... Read more

We spend two nights in Motel One Salzburg Mirabell. The location of the hotel is good, you can walk from the main railway station to the hotel and continue your way to the old town. Our room was clean and nice, I would say this is good value for money. Our stay would have been perfect if there had been a water boiler in the room (unfortunately not, but this is only a minor thing). I would come here again, definitely.

We were in Salzburg only 2 days on Valentin's day and found this Motel on booking! Was clean and they had lovely and confortable rooms. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant such a lovely place to eat! Not so good: They have only a few places to park and was all full.

Two of us stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be clean, comfortable and in a good location. We asked for a quiet room facing the river when we booked and were given one on the 5th floor. Lovely view and very quiet when the windows were shut. Good air con which we appreciated as the days were in the high 20s. The room was on the small side with minimal wardrobe space but we were able to leave 2 medium sized suitcases open on the floor so adequate for a couple of days. The bathroom was tiny b... Read more

Motel One is a great cheap business hotel chain ... this one is abou 600m from the bridge that crosses over to old town (with Mozart's birth house in Getreidegasse etc etc). The Theater is on the way there. Ask for a room with river view (doesn't cost extra). Breakfast buffet is great, like in all hotels of this chain. The only thing i regret about all Motel One's .. you can't collect points

We chose the Motel One because it was walking distance from the main station. Our mistake was not checking the distance to the Old Town. It is a bit of a walk if hot or wet. It was our first stay in a Motel One and we found it comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. The room was not large but okay for a short stay. While no cupboards or wardrobes/closets, there were spaces for hanging clothes and storing stuff. The bed and pillows were comfortable (2 pillows each!) The bathroom was small but ... Read more

Being in the privileged situation of having a travel agent that caters the creme de la creme in the entertainment world, I am spoiled with fantastic rates in hotels, so I usually skip the motel ones - I stayed for 70 and less percent at the Wyndham Grand, the Radission Blu - all considered to be of higher status that this chain. This time, they were all sold out, and so I checked out both the Motel Ones in Salzburg. I received exactly what I thought what I would get: a stylish but small (and ve... Read more

The hotel locates only 15 minutes walk from the main station. You can go to famous attractions in Salzburg within walking distance such as Mirabell Garden and Old town. The room was very new and clean with air conditioner which was so wonderful for hot summer in September. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Only half a mile walk from the train station, this hotel has all the basic necessities needed. The rooms are small, beds very firm, and breakfast is an extra charge (we did not choose to add it to our stay). Wi-fi is included and it is a lovely mile walk along the river to get into the city center.

This is a clean, modern budget hotel in Salzburg. It is not located in the main part of Salzburg, but it is a nice walk along to river to get there (about a mile). It is closer to the train station, Mirabell Gardens and Panaroma Tours Sound of Music Tour. Unfortunately we had rainy weather, but we still walked everyone we wanted to go. I would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel while on a recent visit to Salzburg. There are several things that stand out about this hotel. First, it is inexpensive. Second, it is relatively new with a fun decor and has clean and comfortable rooms. Third, the staff is very helpful. Fourth, it offers a very good breakfast at an extra charge of 9.50 Euros. Finally, the location is along the Salzach River. You can easily walk along the riverside for 15 minutes and find yourself in the heart of the Ol... Read more

A reliable chain offering clean, good value rooms. Although technically a budget hotel, the atmosphere is modern and fresh (if a bit generic) and money is spent on the right things. This particular location is especially well-placed for those traveling by train, as it is just a short walk from the station. The walk into the old town was about 15-20 minutes. As a small caution, I am sure it is not a problem in the summer when daylight lasts longer, but in winter, it gets a bit dark and deserted i... Read more
