So let me started. Before six days my husband and I returned to the road, which marks our wedding anniversary . This time choice felt on Salzburg and it Meininger Hotel City Center-ironically. Basically has all of the hotels we chose before were good ,but here I asked myself whether I was good when we booked this hotel. The hotel is not at in the center, it is in the suburbs zones, no traffic, so hike to the center which takes 40 minutes and not 20 minutes Parking is paid 11 euros per d... Read more

Good location, it is in walking distance to city centre, and good value for money! Underground parking is available, 11‚?¨ per 24hours with direct access into the hotel Nice hike up the hill right behind the hotel for excellent views!

The Meininger was nicer and cleaner than any dorm room. Four of my college roommates stayed in a private four person room and it was perfect. After arriving safely to the hotel, we needed to figure out how to get to the main part of Salzburg. We had no idea how to get to the main city, as the area around the hotel is clearly not the historical district. However, with the help of the front desk we made our way to the historic city for a great visit. As a woman traveling with three girl friends, i... Read more

Stayed here for our first night in Austria. Good location with supermarket nearby. Unfortunately old town is not a short walk away, but is still an easy 10 minute bus ride. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is good value too (only ‚?¨7!) I would recommend staying here if you are ok with catching public transport or walking about 25 minutes to the main sights. Staff are really friendly and welcoming- they put a smile on our faces!!

We stayed here for 5 nights. We were a group of two professors, two staff and 14 college students. So: GOOD: Has a small kitchen and laundry facility You can purchase beer, wine, coffee, soft drinks and snacks in the lobby Not a bad location for the price (tram is around the corner. Take either the 2 or the 4 for a short ride into the old city.) Good grocery store right next door. Clean rooms. BAD: Wifi doesn't work in entire sections of the hotel. One example- the group of rooms on the 3rd f... Read more

Clean, comfortable and ten min bus to the old town. Enjoyed the rooftop terrace to relax on, and the guest kitchen came in handy for cooking dinner one night as well. Room was spacious and had everything we needed! Staff were personable and helpful also. Would recommend to anyone visiting Salzburg.

I came here in June with my sister for two nights and wanted a hotel that wasn't expensive but still central to Salzburg city center. On arrival the hotel staff were very friendly, spoke English very well and check in was quick and simple. We had a double room on the third floor. It was very clean, a decent size and had really cute decor - I loved the 'find the deer' paint stamps scattered throughout the room. The bathroom was small - it was difficult to bend in the shower without hitting the wa... Read more

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm. The room was confortable, with an en-suite bathroom. The staff was ok. The breakfast was very good but quite expensive (almost 7 Euros). As for the location, it is a good 20 minute walk to the city center. There is not a whole lot to say about this hotel. It is a good place to stay a couple of nights. Nothing extraordinary, no special atmosphere, but clean and comfortable.

Booked a family room here for an overnight stay on the way to Croatia. Good size, clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff who all spoke very good English. Breakfast was also pretty good. Car park right next to the hotel, cost ‚?¨11 for our overnight stay. Wished I'd also booked this hotel for our trip home as well as it was much better than the one we subsequently stayed at, and the same cost.

The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and gave us our room keys, the room we were allocated was modern and clean. It had a separate toilet to the bathroom which is better because you aren't constantly waiting for people to finish their shower. Another bonus is that Aldi is across the street, so we had pastries every morning and bought snacks and drinks which were very cheap. Really enjoyed our stay and the communal area had a tv showing the football.

Good experience to stay here. Even though it's far away from Salzburg Hbf, there is a bus stop just next to the hotel. You can take the route no2 traveling to the Hbf and route no. 10 to the old town. Supermarket is nearby. Clean room and comfortable beds. Well equipped guest kitchen and it's very tidy. Friendly staff. Highly recommended !

However this isn't a problem! Loved this place, ensuites in the room with a separate toliet which was perfect for the 6 bed room. 2 bunk beds and 2 single beds as a double, which is a little weird for a hostel but wasn't a problem as shared with a friend (would be weird with a stranger). Hostel is about 30 minute walk from the station, painful in the beating hot sun. Can walk into the centre from hotel but with the salzburg card got free public transport.

Stayed at Meininger in Salzburg for a stopover for the night before heading to Hallstat the next day. The hotel was fine, reflected the price paid and is only a 15-20 minute walk into the city centre. Rooms were clean and spacious. Only note to make is we booked a double bed but had two single beds put together but that seems to be the norm in Austria.

Away from downtown, but convenient to transit. Clean, new rooms. Breakfast buffet was convenient and simple. Friendly staff with good bag storage options if arriving early or staying beyond checkout. Bathroom was nice but lacked hooks and flat surfaces for toiletries. No safe in rooms.

The hotel is a little bit outside the tourist track, however it's just a 15 minute walk to the old town. You can also go by tram, the stop is just around the corner. The rooms are nice, we were 5 people and stayed in a 6 private room. They are nicely decorated, very clean and the fact that the toilet and the shower are separated is a plus. Beds are comfortable. Lots of towels. Breakfast was also ok. If you travel by car, there is a parking place too, which is perfect. Staff was very friendly. ... Read more

We stayed only one night at this hotel for 2 adults and 3 kids in a room with 4 bunks and one double. The staff was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. The room was clean except the room with the toilet smelled like urine. I think it's the brush in there that needs to go. Otherwise it was clean as far as I could see. One pillow was not so clean but we didn't use it. Beds are not so soft but just the same as any other hotel we have stayed at on the trip. Breakfast was cheap but small. Not... Read more

Very good budget hotel, attentive staff, close to bus station but it is not a good distance to walk to city center. Happy with laundry self service at 5EUR but it is quite busy so you should be lucky not having to wait. Clean and neat room, very new equipment and furniture in the room

Pros: Parking available. Got it for free because the gate for underground parking was broken! Staff were very polite and helpful. Room was comfortable and nice with two bathrooms- one with toilet and sink, the other with shower and sink. Bathrooms were very clean, as was the bedroom. Cons: Not a great location, had to get a bus into town, which we were helped with, but figuring out how to get home was hard! This is a nice hotel/hostel. We were in a double room but some of the other rooms are actually small dorms. It's a bit of a walk into the city center, but if you're visiting Salzburg as a tourist, you should definitely get the Salzburg card (which allows for free public transport) and then you can take the bus. The room was clean and nice. We did laundry using the washing machine down in the communal kitchen. The staff were really nice and helped me figure out how to use the washer. People were ... This is a very nice hostel, with nice dorms and good wifi. The only fault I can really pick with it is that it is a long walk from the main train station and from the city centre. If you don't mind the walk, I highly recommend this hostel.

We traveled last minute to Salzburg during summer so this was basically the only place we found accommodation. It follows the Meininger standards, however it was a bit far from the center but with bus stops just outside so it was not bad. The hotel is a busy one, like all Meinigers, they have a buffet breakfast, a self catering kitchen, free wifi and a cafe/bar. The room was clean and comfortable, we had a good rest there. If you are traveling there as a tourist I highly recommend to buy a Salz... Read more

We stayed here for 1 night & it was good. Definitely bare bones but as long as you are prepared then it's great. That means no towels, no soap although they do provide bed linens. They were very nice, there is breakfast for 6.50 euros but we did not eat there. There is also a restaurant in the hotel. Very close to bus stop...would stay again.
