The staff in the hotel were outstanding the best I have had anywhere I have stayed. Hotel was clean and had all you need. Walk to old town 15-20 mins but ok. We had a top floor room which unfortunately was next to the lift which was noisy both with other guest and in operation. The room air on and blind were a bit temperament but worked.

Basic rooms, bathroom is very decent and large. The air- conditioner is very loud and not very efficient. Opening door to a shared balcony. The breakfast buffet offers a very good selection. TIP - request a room at the back of the hotel as the front rooms face a noisy busy road.

Nice place, clean, good service, good breakfast. 10 minute walk to the city center. The fortress was well worth the ride up the mountain as the views were magnificent. We stayed there for two nights and were not disappointed.

We were quite comfortable in this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the receptionists helped by showing us the best options to get to our places of interest.Very clean, breakfast was reasonable and enough, but most of all the view from our room was a beautiful site of the mountain covered with trees.

I agree with Christine H, the air conditioner was very in efficient. So much so we opened our windows while in the room. The breakfast, although pricey, was very good. We would stay here again. The walk to the historic downtown area is only 15 minutes.

The hotel is located about 20 minutes walking distance from the station and the bus stop. Restaurants are about 15 minutes away. The rooms are small but with the usual Holiday Inn amenities. The room has a safe box which I consider important during travel. The reception staff are very helpful and eager to assist with your questions on the location. Free wifi as I am a IHG member. Thank goodness we only had to stay here one night as this was our least favourite hotel of the trip. The mountain view room we had on the 6th floor was actually overlooking another hotel across the street. The room was very dirty, with hair on the towels and over the bed sheet. The air conditioning unit was so loud that it sounded like a jet taking off. It was impossible to sleep with it on so we had to turn it off and open the window. Another thing we did not like was that the double bed came... Read more

We know Salzburg well, but were just passing through. We paid extra for a room with a "mountain view" and were given a good, quiet room on the (top) sixth floor with the aforementioned "view", which is included in this review. The local mountain is called the Kapuzinerberg, the wooded area in the top-left of the picture. In the distance, you can see real mountains! However, the dominant "mountain view" from the room, as you can see for yourself, is the Mercure hotel opposite! There is very ... Read more

This is your average Holiday Inn hotel, just 1km from the train station, but as prices in Salzburg can be very high in the summer, it offers quite good value. Staff is nice, and there is parking in a garage below the hotel. Rooms are on the small side, but mostly clean. Bed quality could be better, though, as mattresses could be exchanged more often - mine was very old and tired.

OK, we were on IHG points, so I can't complain about the price, that being said, this hotel was only average. It is a 15 minute walk to the old town, which was fine with us, we have no problem with walking. I knew that ahead of time, so no complaint there. The front desk was very pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean but small, while I find this more in Europe, I can't figure out why it was built this way when the hallway was extremely wide. Why not give some of that wasted space to th... We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Nice large clean room so conveniently located. The HI is located in between 2 city bus stops, has a grocery store a half block away and a variety store 1 1/2 blocks away. (Purchased an electrical European adapter for only $3.99 eurors) there were several restaurants within walking distance. The front desk staff was super friendly and very helpful.

We had a fairly nice three night stay at this hotel, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, though one of the staff at breakfast always looked like she wished she wasn't there! The breakfast which was included in our booking was nice, the usual type of buffet fayre. The room we booked was larger than some, and had a double sized balcony on the side of the hotel, but we found the decor rather 80s needing an update, and the shape quite annoying. Positives first, the reception staff were totally lovely and helpful. They had a kettle in the room and the body cream was nice. That about it unfortunately, the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. Air conditioning didn't work well, couldn't sleep from sweating all night. Location is a distance from all the sights but 10 minutes from train station and tour pick ups. Not value for money!

We recently stayed at this hotel at two separate points of our trip. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, especially Renata. She gave us good restaurant recommendations and she went out of her way to print directions to Berchesgaden. Both rooms we had were very clean and comfortable. Upon arrival at your hotel we were greeted by two very pleasant front desk clerks. They informed us that since we were platinum members they were giving us a very nice room for our three night stay. This, however, was most definately not what we were given. Being a touristy town, seems like they get s lot of packaged tourists and the service standards are lower. Staff do try to put a smiling face, but seem to be overwhelmed. Parking can run out very quick, hence watch put for it in busy period. Bed room was decent, internet worked, okay bathroom and furnishings. Many decent food options nearby though they close at 10 pm. We had to use the room for approximately 10 minutes (we have a five-year-old and a 15-month-old). We stayed here 3 nights. The rooms felt smaller than other Holiday Inns but clean, comfortable and cozy. The bathrooms were a good size with a nice clean tub. The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful. It's a about a 20min walk from the city centre(feels a bit much after a full day of being touristy) so I'd suggest getting the 24/48 hour pass(you can get it at the desk). It covers many of the tourist attractions and transport to get to them and back.
