I arrived thinking this would be a wonderful destination for a conference. Whilst the Double Tree Hilton was a lovely place to stay I certainly wouldn't rush back to Alice. There are some places we visited for the conference that were quite remarkable, but I left feeling underwhelmed. Maybe it's not the place for me but the Hilton certainly went a long way to make it up.

We were very pleased with the location and the service provided during our stay. We attended a national conference next door which made the location very good. Just a small walk each day. Just enough to loosen up for the long sitting periods at the conference.

Double Tree is very well located, very close to the CDB area. Across the hotel is the famous TODD River. During all my stay in Alice Springs, I always have dinner at HANUMAN Restaurant. It's the best restaurant in Alice Springs and located at the lobby of the hotel.

The hotel was adequate. Nothing luxurious but a good stopping place before and after an outback camping trip. Clean and comfortable rooms, good pool for laps or playing. Good breakfast buffet. Alice Springs itself was not much, except for the Royal FLYING Doctor museum. That was excellent.

Stay at least 4 nights in the Alice as there is plenty to do there. This Hotel offers quite good value for the cost of the stay, as you will find out when you compare it with Hotels in Yulara and Darwin. Would stay there again. Both restaurants in the Hotel are very good. Can walk to the centre of town easily. Across the dry Todd river is easy too if you want to take a short cut to town.

This hotel represented excellent value for money. Perhaps it is ready for a refurb but the room was spacious and comfortable with all the trappings needed for a good stay. The hotel had a variety of facilities and the breakfast was good value for money. The drinks at the bar were pricey and the service a bit slow but they were busy. There was a shuttle bus to the airport. The disadvantage was a fair hike to restaurants made a bit harder with the river in flood but they couldn't help that!

Not up to the expected Hilton standard. Rooms had hardly any lights: 2 weak bedside lights and a similarly weak stand light - which made reading or writing impossible and even unpacking was difficult. Let's be honest, there's not a whole lot of hotels in Alice Springs and with the flow of tourist to the Red Centre each season they know they will get customers no matter what. It's no secret that most Alice Springs hotels are pretty average. This one caught me surprise. The typical light brown brick exterior does nothing for it, but the inside is lovely. The bars and restaurants were world class, the rooms were extremely comfortable, of a good size and well priced. It's about 200m to the casino so you've got other options for meals if you need them. If you're driving long distances and need a good sleep you best request a room that doesn't have a shared internal door. The level of sound proofing is most inadequate. I was awokened from a deep sleep by the guests in the next room having a simply conversation that began upon there return from an evening out at 11pm and continued into the early hours. This hotel has everything you need. Nothing special but a lot better than the Lasseter's Hotel next door which is dominated by a tacky casino. It's a 15 minute walk along the Todd River to the centre of town and about 10 minutes to the lovel botanic gardens. Don't miss climbing Meyers Hill at the gardens for a great view of the town. The very best thing about this hotel is actually the excellent Humanan restaurant. Very reasonably priced. Bookings essential.

The Double Tree has seen better days and like a grand old lady she is, the age is starting to show. But don't let that put you off. I stay here every time I come down to Alice from Darwin which is 4 or 5 times a year. The prices are good. The rooms very clean and the food is not bad either. And it's very safe.

The rooms, breakfast and room-service were all great and a reasonable price - considering hotel prices. We stayed either side of our Larapinta trip and found the hotel to be quite sufficient. We did have issue with their phone service prior to our arrival. It appears to go to a call centre and we had trouble getting the information we needed. Although that was cleared up promptly when I emailed the hotel directly. Any questions I would suggest emailing the hotel - the response is much better... Read more

Beautiful and peaceful resort. Nice common areas, two excellent restaurants and relaxing outdoor pool. Although the room is comfortable, is a little old and tired, needing a renovation, mostly in the bathroom which has an old bath with old curtains that allows water everywhere during the shower. The beds felt a bit too soft. The famous and delicious cookies are outstanding in this hotel chain. Always a pleasure to taste them. The breakfast was good. In general, a very good stay.

I stayed here recently for 3 nights on business, it seems it's the main hotel to stay at when in Alice Springs as the town has very limited accommodation of a high level. The hotel has lots of rooms and is quite large with a swimming pool and 2 restaurants of which I only dined at the Deck restaurant which serves a variety of international meals, cost is reasonable around $25-$45 per person plus drinks. Our experience at this hotel was delightful. Our room was quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view of the McDonnell Ranges and the pool and recreation area added to our enjoyment. My only suggestion for improvement is that I would have liked a tourist information folder in the room giving details of local attractions. We travelled to Alice Springs after having seen Uluru and Kings Canyon. Thought that staying at a Hilton hotel would be better. The beds are double not Queen size, there were chips in the paintwork. The bathroom needs updating. The hotel is overpriced. You should at least get some sort of breakfast included for what you pay.

Everything was great except for the breakfast. Nice and clean but overpriced at over 240 AUD per night and extra 22 AUD for a below average breakfast. ( The breakfast was the worst part). Beautiful swimming pool but it was too cold for a swim. The highlight was this beautiful peacock called Andrew!

This is not a well run hotel. There seemed to be queues for everything: checking in and out (too few staff); getting a table for breakfast (no one seemed to have breakfast included, so every guest was asked about what type of breakfast they wanted and how they would like to pay before they were seated - very inefficient); and trying to get a seat at the 'bar'. This is the worst experience - a sign asks you to wait to be seated but the staff seem not to notice that people are waiting. If you are ... Read more
