A lively place to eat and meet people. There was a singer performing both nights we ate here. We had Pizza one night and the next night the salad bar from the Outback BBQ section. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the best place to go out at Yulara.

When staying in the Outback, I am not looking for the most expensive and/or comfortable hotel. Instead I want something that fits into the Outback experience. This hotel does that fairly well. The compound is made up of several eating facilities, such as a restaurant, a burger/pizza pick-up, a bbq. There is a large outdoor area where guests have dinner and listen to live music, great way to talk with fellow travellers. Rooms are clean.

Stayed one night in the Outback Pioneer Lodge. Was expensive for what you got - a standard bunk bed room for 3 that needed a good sweep out and a clean. You're paying $300-500 a night for a room anywhere in Yulara and it was cheaper than the rest in the resort. But hey we're only there for the Rock and surrounds! The set up of the food area was very good though and the Outback Kitchen made the best pizza and hamburgers.

I have never met such an unprofessional rude reception staff....talking on the phone and holding me for 15 minutes, then lecturing me about life and answering phones again. The rooms are very dirty and old with poor maintenance.

Most of the staff are young untrained adults who don't know what good service is. There is a constant poor quality amplified noise from 6:00am to 11:00pm from the bar. We went on the Field of Light art installation which was a good some would say spiritual experience and had to endure more rotten music in the bus on the trip back. The whole thing seems to be set up for young backpackers at 4 star hotel prices.

We stayed near the rear of the property, just a short walk from the bar, restaurant etc. Food was quite reasonably priced and delicious from the Outback Kitchen which was open for lunch and dinner. The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

There was a sale on flights so we thought why not visit 'The Rock'. We stayed in the lodge our room was adjacent to the swimming pool and a small walk to the restaurant and bars. The room was basic but clean and comfortable and the air conditioning was welcome. It's a good place to stay.

Very comfy but price here and everywhere higher - Room clean - bed comfy - good water pressure - tub and shower - breakfast included which was good but just typical buffet - eggs always scrambled and cold - Still, decent place to stay

I was here just for one night, and it was enough. The hotel is beautiful but the room are very dirty. I was in a shared room for 4 people, nobody was inside when I arrived and the room was dirty yet. The toilets are cleaned few times considering the number of people that use them during the day. It's too expensive, like everything here, and they take 20 dollars deposit for the key, I've never seen this. Maybe 1 star is very less, but a dirty place can't have more than one
