Great hotel, the location was good but because it was right in the middle it was a little bit noisy but not annoyingly so. Travelodge's never disappoint and this one was great. The only thing that bothered me was the fake area in the middle where your view was like a painted wall, it was nice but it meant I didn't know what the weather was like outside. Still 100% recommend the hotel though! :-)

Good value, the room was tidy, and clean but nothing special... There was no view of anything except the other side of the building. The ventilation system was noisy, but didn't take long to get used to. Bed was big and comfortable, and that's all we wanted - somewhere comfortable to sleep... We got that. The staff were very friendly and helpful, it's in a great central location - walking distance to anywhere. We will stay here again.

Great location and impeccable service from staff, but the room was small, so was the bed (and bed not particularly comfortable) and the level of noise was high. We booked through a third party provider and wondered if we were allocated a lower 'level' as a result

Having stayed in much larger hotels in Sydney before,I have chosen Travelodge Phillip Street this time bto avoid the large contingent of tourist guests queuing for attention at the reception. There are many eating places in and around the city, you can try the food courts in Westfield and Myers. If you like seafood then visit the Sydney Fish Market. If you go across the Sydney Bridge to Kiribilli you can have aa paranomic view of the city. Or take a boat trip to Manly and Cockatoo Island.

This is a low cost, absolutely no frills hotel, but provides the basics for a stay. Don't count on any cable TV channels, only the free over the air TV is provided. Stayed one night - the Travelodge is in a great location, walking distance to everything in the city and train stations close by. There is a Convenience store 20 m from the front of the hotel. The room was large and clean and had everything needed for the night. The parking could be improved as it is quite costly (50.00 per night) and is also not located on site - its it not a far walk but if you were elderly or had limited mobility may not be suitable.

Two train stations (Martin Place & St James) within 2-3 minutes walk. There is no hotel bistro or room service but there are food options very close by, a cafe across the road for... Read more

Great place to stay if you only have a few days in Sydney, really central and clean. Handy for most of the sights and good communications links, trains, ferries and all. The botanical gardens a must see, walk in and enjoy.

Certainly not a 4 star hotel. Overpriced for the size of room and no usual services. I have travelled the world and this hotel was very 3* At least the sheets were clean and so were the pillows one of my favorite checks.

Stayed with friends for the weekend before a cruise, best sleep, clean room, excellent service and so close to everything on foot, would recommend to anyone for sure, awesome weekend. Just needs a bit more colour and welcome atmosphere in the small reception area, very bare.

We were greeted by happy and friendly staff. The room was clean and well maintained although it lacked colour and style. There was only one lift working & it was very slow but hopefully after the renervations, this will be rectified. The staff on reception were very helpful with information & directions when required. I will look forward to returning one day to see what the finished results are.

Excellent location and helpful staff - however, terrible at the moment with the construction going on and jack hammers!!! Close to shops and easy walk to Circular Quay. But no restaurant, so if you want an easy quick meal you have to go out. Breakfast is available across the road at Silks - good food and wide range - and you can add to your hotel bill if you wish. Close to railway - easy 2 mins walk, so very easy to access from airport.

a big disappointment. Can tolerate the noise from renovations, no problems but the swipe key not working in the lift was annoying and inconvenient and the cold shower was just really not good enough for a hotel in the CBD

We stay here often because it is in a great location and it is always clean and has everything you need. We really like being able to walk to the Opera House, Botanic gardens, library and Art Gallery.

The hotel location is excellent and convenient. 100 marks for this. As the room which I have stayed, I was disappointed. It wasn't like the room I have seen from the photos before I made the reservation. Thought the rooms of the hotel have gone renovation, unfortunately the room I have stayed in looks old and not bright.

This hotel is close to Martin Place Station. Fantastic location in the heart of the CBD. Upon walking in the hotel looked clean and the staff at check in were very friendly. We had a standard twin room and this was ok as we were 2 friends spending a night there after a concert. We got to our room, quickly changed our clothes, went to dinner and concert and returned close to midnight. When we went to return to our room neither one of our keys would open our door. We went down to reception and ... Read more

Great central location but a shame that the bathrooms are out dated and the flooring uneven which makes it feel dirtier than it probably is. No room service options but a lovely café across the road. Overall it was very average.

The room was fine, the front staff try hard and are nice but the whole place from the Foyer to the lifts needs a re-firb. The Leagues Club closed 2 years ago but they still have a current web-site telling you about $12.50 steak & chips and I thought this would be excellent, cheap feed and a couple of beers at the end of the day in the lounge bar and probably a great place to have breakfast?????? Great place to stay in the city. Very close to St James train Station and Martin Place. It was ideal for our stay as we were attending a function at Parliament House which was only a short walk away. Plenty of cafes and eating places within walking distance.

The only thing going for this hotel is location. We booked 2 rooms that were on the eighth floor, so unable to open the windows. The hotels air conditioning was broken and our night in Sydney felt like we had slept in a sauna. The staff did not offer any solution. Only 1 out of the 2 lifts was working and it's slowness did not instill any confidence that it was reliable. $180 for a night in this hotel with no ventilation was a rip off and I will certainly never stay here again or recommend this ... Recommended for staying in Sydney but the place could do with a refresh, some of the decor feels dated. Also there's no dining option so you need to go out, which isn't a problem but there aren't too many places nearby to choose from

It is a very clean room, comfortable bedding, and nice interior plan( safe, wardrobe, even a little basin for cleaning dishes and cups) But the first night, I stayed in room 706 where was very noisy for all time due to water pipes running. I talked to the front desk staff next morning, she said I'm not the first one bringing this up, so I got my room changed. The new room is excellent and quiet. I know the hotel is doing renovation, but the water pipes issue has no regard The hotel's location ... Read more

Hotel is in a great location but you will not get good value for money. Staff are friendly but the rest is below standard. The corridors and the lift are rundown. The room I stayed in could do with some renovations. The air conditioning system was broken and made humming sound continuously which could not be switched off. So you will not be able to sleep. Unfortunately our stay was not great due to the air conditioning not working which resulted in room being hot and stuffy. There was no alternative ventilation as you could not open the windows. the staff did not offer any discount only a bottle of water when checking out. Very disappointed and will not be recommending or staying here again. The room would have been fine except for this major blunder.

The hotel is located very close to the airport train line and other lines are even closer. Bus stops close also. Can walk to the downtown/harbor CDB area in 15 minutes. Small but modern rooms. Off the main streets so traffic noise is minimal. While I was there they were in the midst of major renovations so during the day there was extensive hammer drilling going on. It did stop once I got back from exploring so that is the only reason for knocking off a star. Should be done sometime in 2017. Ove... Read more

Unfortunately A/C was broken. We were informed the day before we were due to arrive. Upon arrival we were given the opportunity to change hotels if we wished or offered as many fans as we wanted and a discount. We decided to stay and the staff couldn't have been nicer considering the lack of A/C and the building works going on.

Great value for the location. Walking distance to Circular Quay and all that central Sydney offers. Stayed overnight prior to boarding a cruise. Just perfect for our requirements. Qantas lost one of our bags. We notified reception that it should be delivered 'soon'. Staff were very helpful and showed genuine concern for our plight. The room is not large but is comfy with sink and microwave in addition to the normal kettle. Would stay again.

The location is close to where we had to go and is easy to get to. The hotel is under repair and this is reflected in the price we were charged. There is no dining room or restaurant, but we went out to a pub for dinner, and had breakfast over the road at a cafe.
