Easy location and great service. Staff were so helpful on arrival and organised room service at time of check in which after a long day was great. The only downside was working out parking so phone ahead to get details if you have your own car.

Metro is in a good location and staff very friendly and helpful. Good clean hotel and beds pretty good so comfy place to stay. Room we had wasn't very big but for one night was ok as we were in transit.

Stayed three nights in March prior to a cruise. Older hotel but very clean and well maintained. Smallish room...we had a hard time trying to get things in and out of our suitcases. Great central location within easy walking distance to transport, shopping, restaurants and attractions. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Just one night in this hotel in Sydney but staff was very friendly and accommodating! Convenient to the Quays and other tourist sites, walkable and in a very nice area with a few restaurants very close. Very nice breakfast buffet!

a short stay and was surprised, stayed there years ago when owned by someone else, it's bright and cheerful, good value for money when all you want is a bed and clean bathroom and somewhere in the heart of Sydney to do your activities. No parking on site however they have a very reasonable charge with another operator which is inexpensive for Sydney. WiFi strong and quick, no gym or fancy add ons, just clean, crisp sheets in a wonderful bed with ample pillows for anyone's taste, it was recommen... Read more

Great location. Had a compact room. It was bigger than I expected and great for a single/couple. Room had been recently been refurbished and everything is new. No view (not that I was expecting one) but room was very quiet. Staff were exceptional and there service was second to none. Made my stay.

I booked three rooms (1 compact and two Deluxe King) for a family stay. Staff were very friendly on arrival and very helpful and that flowed through to the restaurant as well. Breakfast was good value. Rooms were very clean and tidy throughout. The only let down were the deluxe king rooms (101 and 201). Neither offer the promised "extra natural light" over the compact room and the rooms were actually wrapped around the elevator shaft (ie on three sides!!). Small window, no view wasn't a problem ... This is a good location but the construction outside early in the morning is a great start to the day. When the room was serviced things weren't replaced and we wondered if you only get a certain amount of things for your stay. Nice and close to public transport and walking distance to a lot of things. Our room was small compared to other times we have stayed there, maybe booking on the Internet allocates different rooms. Desk staff extremely rude and unfriendly. We stored our bags and it was a... Read more

From when we booked in at reception staff were excellent. Told if there was a problem get back to them as we had asked for quiet room. Room was spotlessly clean and quiet. Room although small was adequate for our needs, it did seem a bit tired in decor but bathroom was modern. Good location to Darling Harbour 10/15 min walk, Bridge 25/30 min. One block from supermarket and close to shops and eating establishments. We had a problem on departure with the shuttle that we had pre ordered from NZ. Th... Read more

Metro has proven to be a great mid market performer of a hotel. Right in the midst of Korea Town in the CBD, close to the Pitt St Mall and not far from anywhere really. Have stayed for business three times now, and greeted by name by the reception staff. A nice touch was the personalised welcome card by the manager. Clean rooms, with some wear and tear but very comfortable beds which is my milestone. Great free internet. B'fast options looked really good. Large bathroom in the room. Good... Read more

Visited Sydney for a sporting event. This hotel is clean, in good repair and comfortable. Rooms may be a touch small but are large enough and the hotel is very good value. There are a lot of places that give you less for more. I would recommend this hotel for short stays in the Sydney CBD. Desk service was quick and efficient. Parking is available in a nearby (200 metres) car park at a reasonable rate. You are restricted to one entry and exit per 24 hour payment.

We got to the hotel at 9am and was greeted by the lovely Tara. She said that somebody had tried to call us to retrieve payment the day before. This in fact didn't happen. I actually tried to call 2 weeks earlier to pay for the room and the person on the phone didnt allow me to do this. When she found this out she applied the most amazing customer service. She never doubted me for a minute and then Robert also over heard what had happened. They both went above and beyond anything we could have ex... Read more

Stopped over for just one night to view Vivid. Very helpful front desk staff, great location, quiet, comfy bed, great showers...plus excellent parking arrangements with the World centre down the road. Great pub just a few doors up, so after enjoying the magic of Vivid, we also became immersed in pub atmosphere of watching the Rugby! Breakfast in house is also worthy of mention. Would surely stay here again!

Hotel is clean and tidy, the tradeoff for the price is excellent. The rooms are spacious and modern. You have the option for bath tube. Location is excellent as well, just a few blocks from QVB, it is possible to walk from the hotel to the Darling Harbor, or in the opposite direction to go to the Westfield shopping or to Martin Place.

Location was great, with a really lovely reception area. Extremely welcoming & helpful staff. Room was odd shape due to lift area. But very well set out for it's shape, big king bed & single bed off to the side on it's own area. Bathroom area was very nice & clean. Highly recommend

First night - the evacuate alarm went off at 2 am. second falso alarm for the night. very hard to sleep through. Second night - construction next door - concrete cutter and jack hammer at 11pm to 12:00 yes really in a hotel/residential area. Mgt was proactive in calling in a Council ranger - but damage done. On top of that - the A/.c heating system is noisey too. otherwise it is was quite Ok .

Our 2 night stay on the weekend just been should otherwise have been 4 stars. We booked a compact room which was admittedly small, but all the necessary features were adequate. However our rating is lower due to what I mention below: My wife called up for me prior to the booking and was advised that parking is onsite, at a cost of what she heard to be $25 a night. So we pull up out the front during heavy traffic on Saturday afternoon only to be advised that parking is just over a block away beh... Read more

I picked this place purely due to its proximity to a conference I was attending. It didn't start well. Three people were waiting to check in, while the only person at reception was busy dealing with someone else, so a second or back up receptionist would be ideal. 5 stars for the shower! By golly I could have lived in it. It was just wonderful; hot, perfect pressure, shower head design made it feel like a massage. 5 stars for the bed; comfortable, warm, firm. 1 star for the towel unused that ... Read more

Metro on Pitt is pretty darn good for what it is. The awesome shower that someone else pointed out is indeed noteworthy and the lively front of house attendant who checked me out and help store my baggage was very customer focused. The location is prime i.e. right near Town Hall station and the rooms are modern and surprisingly quiet for the CBD (though my room was away from the Main Street). We flew to Sydney to see Collingwood play GWS and were looking for a hotel close to public transport, but in the city. I spent a Saturday night here whilst in town for the Sydney Harbour 10km run. Clean modern rooms. Only a couple of minutes walk to Town Hall railway station or a few more to Museum station make it a great central location. There are lots of food options nearby or there is room service which seemed to have a menu (but more expense) very similar to the pub a few doors up.

My second visit to the Metro Hotel. I came back because of its great location - handy to Wynyard and Museum train stations, Woolworths supermarket, lots of eating places and Pitt Street shop. It is also good value for money providing all the basics that you need and is pretty clean and tidy. It advertised free wifi but didn't seem to be working half the time. Staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean and tidy. However, they place a hold on your credit card and despite saying it's released the day you check out, it's not. Recommend either asking them to contact your bank directly to have the hold released or make the deposit payment in cash which is returned once housekeeping have checked your room upon checkout (allow a little extra check out time if you make the cash payment).

A couple of minutes further on is a Coles supermarket, which was useful because I was leaving on tours before breakfast was served. The room was compact and clean with a decent bathroom and shower. No view, did n't expect one but... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights and the location was perfect. 15minute drive to the opera house, 30mins to the airport and the street over from this street had the cinemas and lots of places to shop. The room itself was clean, nicely decorated and modern. The view out the window was of another room (with a naked Asian man) but you get that in the city. Just don't buy coffee from the cafe downstairs, horrible coffee

We stayed for three nights recently and the hotel was of a good standard unfortunately there is a lot of building work going on across the street from early in the morning which being a light sleeper made the stay a little less enjoyable. We arrived off a cruise ship at 9.30 am and the room was ready and we were allowed to move in. The check in was efficient and friendly. The room spacious and clean with the usual amenities although the missing hair dryer would have been useful. The breakfast w... Read more

The staff were most helpful and were very kind in letting me into my room much earlier than I was booked in, which was such a relief as I dont know Sydney and was unable to walk around due to an injured foot.

I stayed here for four nights recently whilst having a weekend in Sydney and was meeting friends. I booked a deluxe double which was very roomy, clean and serviced each day. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The room had a fridge the size of a mini bar and a safety deposit box. If you turned right out of the hotel and walked straight you would reach in about fifteen minutes the circular ferries, harbour bridge and opera house. Word of warning, if getting a taxi from the airport, ther... Read more

Had a fabulous few days staying at the Metro in early November. Staff were really helpful and accommodating, with a special shout out for Chrissie, who went the extra mile for us, when we arrived very early in the morning on the day of my daughter's 30th birthday, after flying all night. Soooooo appreciated her special consideration! Great location and the room had all the amenities we needed. We'll stay again next time we visit your awesome city. ???

Sometimes it is the little things about a cafe, restaurant or hotel that makes the visit/experience exceptional. We have always believed that good service, a smile and kindly advice can distinguish an establishment. So it was at The Bistro located within The Metro hotel on Pitt. The hotel is a centrally located, clean, and well maintained. Very convenient for a day or a week in Sydney. We were very pleased we chose this boutique accommodation option for our visit. However it was the deligh... Read more

Right in the heart of town. Rooms are a little on the small side but we were only there one night prior to departing for a cruise and then a return night before flying back to New Zealand. Very clean and friendly. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. Special thanks to Minash for arranging an early book in time for us and to Jordan for her insights and recommendations on where to eat, where not to go and everything inbetween. Top service from front desk to housekeeping. We will defi... Read more
