Sharing a room with Christine Shewry who left review about our room which had damp beds and smelled of mould. After a visit from the Duty manager we have now been moved to one of the refurbished rooms on the 2nd floor, which is a great improvement. I recommend anyone thinking of staying here ask for one of these rooms when booking.

Booked superior room with harbour view. Have stayed in better YMCA's in my time! No parking available, though four guests in 2 rooms and only one car. Had to use Wilsons car park and have to pay each time car is used. Main complaint is beds are damp, in both rooms 718 and 720. Room 720 smells strongly of mould. This just is not good enough.

Bad Customer service from the start of the stay. Arrived at the hotel, no assistance with the luggage, No Warm Welcome or to ask how was your day or flight. Night Guy Peter seem to be the very negative point. Looks like we have to pay him to speak few words. No assistance after the check-in again with the lugguage or show where the lift is or how the key card works in lift or outside room and no verbal guidance during the check-in as well. Entered one of the room with bad smell in the room, ch... Read more

Nice people working in order to make your stay unforgetable. My first contact there was with the manager on duty at that time,, Mr. Marty Lamote (I am not quite sure about the spelling). I asked for un upgrade with a room with harbour view, since my reservation was a roomj with city view. I got it, I paid a reasonable price for the upgrade and he was very gentle. I also received help from one front desk employee in order to get transportation for the 31st December. The detail of the little box ... Read more

Ibis was booked last minute for a trip to see NYE fireworks. It was quite a good location next to Darling Harbour and convenient that we could get there via public transport. (Train to Central Station, then normally light rail to Convention stop, but at moment there were replacement buses). Our queen bed was one of the best we have had in a hotel! Bathroom small with a small shower. It is unfortunate that the it is more difficult to find the entrance via Harbourside. But that was because we c... Read more

Staff were very good but room was small and basic. Had to upgrade to get a view. Room was freezing as airconditoning could not be switched off. They did offer to fix it the next day but we were leaving anyway. Had to sleep with and extra blanket on top off normal bedding. Not what you expect in a Sydney summer!!!

We were very happy with the hotel. The rooms are roomy and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, a walk to shops, restaurants and the Casino. Directly on the light rail for easy access.

I have never stayed in an Ibis Hotel before, but chose to stay with Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour because I was going to an event at the Australian National Maritime Museum five minutes walk away. Discovered that the hotel is also walking distance to a range of attractions and to the harbour ferry. I consider the Ibis chain to be budget hotels so I booked the most expensive room. Price very reasonable for location. My impressions? Staff were a plus, experienced and relaxed and able to smile. Was ... Read more

Now I get it this is a 3.5 star hotel but seriously unless you are getting this a very cheap rate don't bother - it's dated and dirty. The only good thing I can say is the view across darling harbour is amazing.
