A big impersonal hotel with rudimentary attention to everything but no warmth or genuineness attached. Hotel location is good. Rooms are oddly laid out with a large freestanding desk (no power) and a ridiculous freestanding light column to help in an otherwise dark room. Window coverings are flimsy. The walk in shower is poorly designed with the drainage grill unable to trap shower flow such that the bathroom floor becomes a sea unless you stop your shower every so often to help the drainage. I had the pleasure to revisit the Hilton Sydney a couple of weeks ago. As a diamond member I was upgraded to a Hilton plus (relaxation) room which was rather nice, open, modern, light with a huge Spa bath. I had access to the lounge which was large, busy but always great to visit. Good is great, plenty of choices and options, as well as a nice range of drinks. A lot of little things combined made this stay excellent. First is the location: directly across from the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), a reasonable walking distance to just about any attraction in the city, and a quick walk to the train to and from the airport. Second is the staff: From the front desk and concierge staff to the folks working in the Executive Lounge, we found everyone to be helpful, courteous, and quick with recommendations for things to do around the city. Hi, this was our third visit to the Hilton Sydney in 2 years and all times with little one too (who is now 3 years). The staff know little one by name (even though we visit annually). The staff and the amazing amenities make the place. People recognize us and stop to chat and make sure we are looked after. The only thing that I could fault is the service is definitely great but due to it being such a large hotel chain the service doesn't seem as warm. I honestly cannot fault it apart from that and that one fault is me being VERY picky. There is a reason this is one of the best chains in the world. The location is very convenient for walking around the CBD. It's a 15 minute walk to Circular Quay and 5 minutes to a metro stop. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We flew from Tokyo overnight and stayed three nights at the Hilton Sydney and then flew back to Tokyo, took the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Osaka and stayed four nights in the Hilton Osaka. I've written a trip advisor review of both in the same format so you can compare them. Both hotels are skyscraper city hotels and both share the same amenities; pool, executive lounge and multiple restaurants. I have a Hilton Diamond card and that should provide early check in, room upgrade, guaranteed loun... Read more

Convenient location near Town Hall station for easy access from the airport. As a HH member you can pick your room and pre check in so basically just pick up your key at Check In. Good sized room with a lovely view. Fabulous linens and really comfortable bed. Great amenities. Made a visit to the Marble Bar and had some food, all tasty and cocktails, lovley.

Have stayed here many times and normally get a nice room. This time I ended up with two single beds....what the? Turns out I don't sleep that well in a single bed. Given the room rate for my short 2 night trip was $450 per night, I was a bit disappointed. As for the breakfast, well if it's also representing the Hilton brand, they need to do better. Think I'll try the Sheraton for my next visit to Sydney.

Was there for weekends before business meetings then moved to Melbourne. It is on par with the better Hiltons that I have been to. They were quick to recognise my gold status and also upgraded to executive floor. The lounge was very well maintained, and the food was ok (was on keto diet then but did not have much low carb options) I would definitely stay at this hotel when in Sydney, although the prices could be more reasonable!

I have stayed at the Hilton Sydney on a number occasions when here for business and usually I find the rooms a bit small compared with some other hotel offers. On this occasion however I have absolutely no negative feedback, as finally after many stays this year I was provided with an "upgraded room" which was very impressive. It's just a shame I was only here one night to enjoy it!

I have stayed at this property on business several times in recent years, and by now it is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. The rooms are modern, clean and very functional (they even have already an electric adapter for travelers from the US, so you don't have to make a special request). Size wise, one or two travelers will feel comfortable in a room, but it will be too crowded for a 3rd person. The curtains are excellent, allowing a jet lagged guest to go to sleep in the middle of the day w... Read more

Our room over looked Town hall and the QVB, We parked the car in the basement we checked in and it was very easy the room was very comfortable, but we could not get into the mini bar and they couldn't fix it. The bed was comfortable the shower was hot and strong. walk across the road and walk through the QVB and admire the Christmas decorations. If you want to contact reception its call MAGIC not sure why they called it Magic because it was a bit confusing.

Perfect location on George Street made a good base for me to explore Sydney. Hilton standard room was very clean and comfortable. Service was smooth from check-in and check-out. Staffs were nice and helped me to book restaurants and services.

Fourth night in Sydney and moved here to be closer to the office. I loved the location right away! It has a lot of shops and restaurants around it. Access to the hotel via two streets. Good facilities, good staff. My sister's flight was very early on Sunday morning and didnt have issues with her train commute as it was a few meters away from the hotel. The Harbour and Opera House were a few blocks away so we could get there by walking. Express check out worked well for me.

Its more of an over priced ibis. Rooms not luxurious, speakers falling off the roof cracks in the roof. Over use of messy silcone. Was supposed to be a special occasion. This was spoilt by the lack of luxury for the price paid. No lottle touches. If you charge that much it should have a feeling of luxuriously. Quite dissapointed in the hotel chain. They have lost their touch which is unfortunate.

I had a very enjoyable two nights stay 10-12 November. Every staff member were pleasant and friendly. As a diamond card holder, I had the complimentary full buffet breakfast and access to the executive lounge. Both were of high standards. The only thing was being charged for coffee at breakfast despite having asked and double checking both mornings. Fortunately the check out receptionist was understanding and kindly waived this fee. My room was on level 39 which had spectacular views. It was a ... Read more

We truly felt as if we were not welcome at the Sydney Hilton. We paid for Executive lounge level and did not receive it! Our room was not on the executive floor. Ironically, we typically get upgraded to the executive lounge just for being a Hilton Gold member and REMEMBER WE PAID FOR IT! We had multiple problems with the Central Air not cooling properly as well the bed only had a bottom sheet and a duvet (NO TOP SHEET?.) We tried to get this corrected by adding a top sheet and they took it ... Read more

This was an overnight business stay. The hotel is in a great location, close to lots of attractions. However, there is nothing personal or interesting about this place. It's an enormous hotel - it took 10 minutes to get to my room from the lobby as there aren't enough elevators. Lots of people traffic - with loads of conferences and meetings held. The room was comfortable though small. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were good but it was rather dark and dingy. The chocolat... Read more

It has been a couple of years since we dine here.  looking forward to try it again, the restaurant was half full as it was a Sunday's night. The menu is quite good and wine list is extensive with prices on higher end. We have fresh oyster, lamb cutlets and steak from the grill. My steak was good but the lamb cutlets was not medium rare as we order, it was well done. Our waitperson was apologetic and reorder it for us. However by the time it redone I have already nearly finish my meal.

The Hilton is a modern well positioned hotel in the heart of Sydney and my stay was satisfying. The room, although on the small side, was beautifully clean and modern. The hotel is beautiful and the facilities for the conference I attended were first class. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, particularly the position in George Street. BUT ..... things just didn't 'work' for my stay! I am the first to admit these are trivial issues but altogether they lead to a frustrating stay. I include: -... Read more

Only stayed for 1 night, but loved the place. Rooms are small and cosy, but as I was only sleeping there, I didn't need a big room. Breakfast restaurant was amazing, so much to choose from. My only complaint was being in a room next to the lift, the noise of the lift swooshing annoyed us from the early morning hours, so no sleep in.

As numerous other reviewers note ‚?? the Sydney Hilton is incredibly well positioned ‚?? opposite the Queen Vic Centre, walking distance to everything you might want to see, and although not all rooms have a harbour view, the city views are spectacular all the same. It‚??s also just a spit from one of the best bookshops in Australia ‚?? Kinokuniya, which I love. And it‚??s also easily accessed from the Town Hall Station ‚?? which is in turn, incredibly well served by the airport train. The only... Read more

The stay was Sep 2014. It was organized by my company as our annual offsite. I needed to extend the stay by one more night and no one was able to confirm it. They then deactivated my card and almost cleared out my room. My business partner (who organized the trip) made a few calls afterwards and it got resolved. Prior to that, my boss and I had been chasing the front desk since the day we checked in and was given the push around. Very bad experience.

This is a calm hotel. Checked in at 0800 and room was not ready so was offered a low cost upgrade to the club floor. Bargain! Breakfast, tea, cocktails and canapes with free wifi all for an extra £50 a day. Take the deal if offered. Housekeeping was very efficient, the room was kept immaculate. The gym is great, open 0530 which is handy for the jet lag. The bed is SUPER comfortable and linens top notch. Toiletries are just okay - the same Peter Roth stuff at Hiltons everywhere. I visit Sydney at least one a month and was a Hilton Guy, when you pay in excess of $500.00 for a dog box per night you would expect at the very least a dental kit in your room; that did not happen very tight one would say. I am a platinum flyer which once allowed me to be a diamond Hilton member however no more, why I do not know so I had to pay to use the executive lounge ū??° Restaurant very good and I would stay elsewhere and catch taxi from better hotel. All in all better value else where.

My husband and I had 4 enjoyable days in Hilton. The service staff was attentive and courteous. We had a clean and spacious room with all the amenities that made us very comfortable. The best plus was its location. We did not need to walk to far to all the tourists as well as shopping places. Hilton was easy to locate even at night. I will not hesitate to stay there again if budget allows.

Our original thought was to stay in the harbor area, however the costs were pretty steep. We picked the Hilton on George Street and were more than satisfied. We were able to stay on their executive floor with access to their morning breakfast and evening snacks and drinks for not all that much money. We were a five minute walk from the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and ten minutes or so from the harbor area. A good hotel with good service.

One if the coldest hotels we've been to. Even the Executive Lounge is freezing. The staff are also not the friendliest. Very pedantic & inflexible ways of doing things. The rooms, and we had two adjoining, are tiny - can't swing a cat in them! One of our rooms got a turn-down service everyday but the room next door did not. There's nowhere in this hotel to sit comfortably and do some decent work. The Zeta Bar was closed due to refurbishments. Nowhere to go in this hotel whatsoever. As ... Read more
