I stayed in a queen room with ensuite for one night. Although the hotel decor was tired, it was clean and the staff at the 24hr reception were very welcoming and helpful. Being conveniently located between Elizabeth Quay and St Georges Tce, the hotel is walking distance to the CBD including a Woolworths supermarket and a chemist. The hotel provides a good, quick, cheap breakfast but no evening meal (I did struggle to find basic takeaway food in the CBD after business hours). Will stay there aga... Read more

The hotel room was average- the bathroom is very outdated. The room walls are so thin we could hear full conversations in other rooms, people walking around their rooms and people walking down the hallway. Parking is expensive- approx $40 a day for undercover parking. However there is street parking opposite the hotel which is free after 6pm-8am. You are required to pay a $100 deposit with a credit card on top of the room rate which is not stated anywhere! Hotel is in a great location- opposite ... Read more

Room was big but the bed was small and hard the bathroom was dated but served its purpose, great location close to everything and easily accessible by public transport nothing new about it but for $99 a night I guess that's what you pay for. Would not stay again it's worth paying the little extra to stay somewhere nicer.

Room was a good size and had the basics (except no spoons for cups, one pillow and no free wi-fi), but bathroom had a pathetic shower and was a bit scummy. Location was handy for the conference I was attending, but did mean my room was next to a busy freeway that was very loud. Reception was always staffed and they were generally friendly but they were pretty clueless. Generally pretty disappointing and glad I wasnt there for longer. Wouldnt recommend. Friends stayed in other hotels that were ... Read more

Only spent an over night at the New Esplanade Hotel. Was reasonably priced and was good location looking out to Elizabeth Quay. Old hotel and could do with a revamp, however, stay was pleasant. Would stay again for budget reasons.

3 nights i stay there and i paid 350$, it is not worth, absolutely not, for this money. Every hostel is better! My facts: positiv: + Big room + near by the city negativ: - very dirty - mould on the ceiling / windows / wall - dust everywhere - open electric cables - horrible old bed and a blanket probably older than me - in the shower, long dark hairs ( i have very short hairs) - shower gel rests in the shower from other people - a old used handsoap lay in the shower - damaged and not usab... I stayed here for 5 nights in June and really enjoyed my stay. You get what you pay for here, and its budget price, room was clean and the bathroom was clean, sheets nice nd white as well as the towels. The staff were absoloutely wonderful, an asset to the hotel. It was a little cold at night with it being winter but the extra blanket was decent enough to keep and warm with my winter pyjamas on. I really enjoyed my stay and yes the hotel is a little old but still a lovely place. I'd like ... Read more

The hotel is in a great location but that's about it. We stayed here for 2 nights with a baby.We had booked a king size bed but instead got a double and a single. The room itself was quiet big but very dated. It actually felt a little dirty due to the décor and wasn't helped by the state of the bathroom. Mold was in the tile grout and the bath needed a good scrub. I actually couldn't bath my baby as there was no plug for the bath but even if there was I probably wouldn't. The bed linen was cle... Checked in for one night after missing my flight east due to traffic. You get what you pay for as is reasonably cheap at $89. Great location too. But was cold & did not sleep the best. Does not appear to be any heating. I called reception who said it was central and they couldn't turn it up. Offered me a small heater but it was already 6am so did not take up. Shortage of power points in room to power up devices also. Was a bath but no plug for it. I won't stay again and would not recomm... Read more

Great location, cheap, clean beds. Poor tv signal, really hot at night, hard bed, very worn. Perth is expensive and we wanted a cheap deal. Based on what we payed I probably would stay again. Staff were very friendly.

The word NEW in the name is misleading. This hotel has a fantastic location near Elisabeth Quay but it is not new. Or very clean. I found countless hairs in the bathroom and on blankets. The bed did not have a mattress cover or a proper blanket - it's winter in Perth. There were 3 hair-covered blankets in the wardrobe, so thankfully I was warm enough. I received a good rate with my Entertainment card but honestly, the hotel room is not worth more than the $89 I paid. I'd think twice about sta... Read more

This has to be one of the worst hotels in Perth. It appears it has no repairs or maintenance in many years. Panels are falling off the walls, selection buttons in the lift are missing, it really is quite terrible. The bed is bare springs so if you like sleeping on wire springs, this is the place. If you prefer to have a reasonable night's sleep go elsewhere ... anywhere else will be a good choice. Simply avoid this place.

Great view from room through dirty Windows. Concierge was rude when we arrived. Room was tidy but not exactly clean. Bed not very comfortable. No plug supplied for bathtub (not that you'd want to). Hot water took 15 mins to come through then hard to get right temp. Wifi $6 for 1 HR for 1 device and crappy speed. Really only good for a night out on the town having a bed to crash in.

Stayed here for a night due to the closeness of a restaurant we were going to for a gathering of friends. The price was surprisingly cheaper than what we usually pay for a night In Perth. Booked a room on a top floor with views. Our room was clean and very roomy, but very dated. The view of Elizabeth quay from the bay window was stunning, though a couple of comfy armchairs would have been nicer than a table and 2 dining chairs. As it was winter the room was cold even though we had heater on ... Read more

Booked our room through here. Brought a deluxe room as I wanted a bath. No welcoming service. Got into the room and no bath. Complained and got put up a room a level above, with a bath. Bed was tiny and sunk right in the middle. And only had the cover sheet and a sheet. Luckily we brought our own from a previous night. They gave us a heater. I went into the bathroom and there was a dirty dried face washer on the top. Gross. Then when I wanted a bath there was no plugged! So I went to reception ... Read more

Got a good deal for an overnight stay - it is what it is - cheap and cheerful. Room was very clean, tea/coffee/bar fridge facilities, I had a nice view over the Swan, if I didn't pay a bit extra I think my view would have been of a dreary carpark. We couldn't find a way of turning up the heat so we had a very cold night with not enough blankets - I didn't try to get anymore so not their fault I suppose. The building is old and tired but good for a cheap stay in the middle of the city - excel... Read more

$189 including $30 for parking!! So a good price to pay for something that definitely wasn't worth it! I've stayed at many places and this is definitely one of the worst! No heating! Had to go get a little fan heater from reception as the room was freezing! The view is beautiful of Elizabeth Quay but the window was that dirty you could barely see out of it during the day! The window ledge was filthy as was the bathroom bench! My mother stayed as well in a deluxe room which was $20 more for prett... Read more

This hotel is sadly the most tired and dated hotel that I have stayed in in Australia. It looks like it hasn??t seen a tin of paint in 30+ years. The furniture is cheap and dated. I stayed there in September and the weather was cold. The bedsheets were not nearly adequate enough and even with the blankets on I was cold overnight. They did provide a heater after a couple of nights when I asked. I stayed for 5 nights. The first 2 nights they had me in a room at the back with a ??city view.... Read more

Booked this hotel for its location. The only plus point was that the sheets were clean. We actually laughed at the state of the hotel. Everything from the lifts to the room was old, tired and dated. The bed was uncomfortable. The whole place requires renovation. Thank good we only booked one night!!!!

We paid extra for a view but the windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them, after complaining we were told they won't clean them until Elizabeth quay is finished ,,,well it's finished, the hotel is in a perfect spot for visiting Elizabeth quay but is tired and in desperate need of renovating , the bare room seemed clean , the bedding on a tiny double bed was crisp and clean , the only thing going for this hotel is its in a nice spot but we won't be staying there again.

When you pay a low rate you expect that the hotel is not the most modern. This however was not a ??cheap?? stay. Got a nightly special @ $139 but then you add $30 for parking and $20 for Wi-Fi! @ $189 there are great hotels in Perth CBD which I??ve stayed at and the add on??s are included. The windows are filthy, the rooms are old. The breakfast that the agent booked was nonexistent as the café is closed.

Location wise this is in an amazing spot. Too bad the place is absolutely disgusting, was scared to touch anything in case I would catch something. The sheets kind of looked clean, the rest of the room was tired and run down and in need of a good scrub/renovation. Luckily we only stayed one night and ended up being in the room for less than 12 hours, any more and I probably would have walked out.

Stayed a night at the New Esplanade as was attending a function in the city. Reasonable prices for Perth as Perth is quite expensive. The hotel itself is a tiny little thing with a small lobby. There is parking available fro $30/night. Again, Perth with the expensive parking. The hotel itself is a little old and scrappy with scrapes on the walls and dings on the paintwork. Having said that, the bedrooms were comfortable and quite large. I found that my room had an incredibly comfy mattress and... Read more

When I discovered I would be staying here during a major job at Elizabeth Quay, I immediately hopped on here to read the reviews. Reeling from the relentless barrage of negativity, I feared the worst and looked forward to the stay with a resigned apprehension. BUT - I was really pleasantly surprised and am left wondering just how precious some of the other reviewers on here must be. There's no doubt it's a bit worn and probably had it's last refurb when the word 'New' in the title still seemed ... Read more
