When entering as a fresh arrival, you are confronted at the front desk with a big advertizement for (non free) additional WiFi (only 1 is offered as standard). Then, when rolling your luggage towards the economy rooms, they make no mistake in confronting you with the difference between economy and economy plus rooms, by the abundance of signs. The experience is strengthened by the fact that you have to lift your luggage over a staircase in order to get to the elevators to the economy section (a ... Read more

Handy to southern cross and tram stop nearby, but don't expect too much. Very small room and the shower drain was not working properly so each time you had a shower you had to have it on very low otherwise you flooded the bathroom have stayed in better accomm for a cheaper price in the city. Thought we would try them out but wouldn't stay again unless we got a big discount

The location of this hotel was fantastic as I needed somewhere very close to Southern Cross Station. However the room itself was exceptionally small and I found a stain on my bedsheets which I assume was from a previous guest. The shower had mould up the walls and on the ceiling which left me feeling like I needed another after I used it. Wifi was not free which was disappointing Good as an overnight place to stay alone if you have a stopover, if I was travelling with my partner, I would have... Read more

This hotel is in a very convenient location, is economically priced and has a variety of rooms from which to choose. There is a restaurant on site, a bar and reasonable parking rate. It feels secure and the quality of our room was excellent. Staff are on duty 24 hours and always ready to assist with luggage etc.

Good place just to sleep, very central to the city and all public transport at your doorstep. Very friendly and helpful staff & very flexible bookings. As I was travelling for business getting receipts for coin operated washing was difficult but printing and scanning documents was handled by reception for free.

I had a Premiere King Room booked here for two nights and it was very comfortable and relaxing! The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and always had a smile on their face. The room was clean and presentable with a balcony with a view of Southern Cross station and city lights. The only downsides would be the sound coming from the trams/trains - which is a given as it is very close to Southern Cross station. And additionally other guests slamming the door occasionally.

Grand hotel in a perfect position, within walking distance of Southern Cross train station. A few steps to negotiate with a heavy suitcase at first but then a lift to reception. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the main street and train station. Dark blinds blocked a large ‚??The Age‚?? electronic billboard enough to not worry us. Breakfast was great, you have a choice of full breakfast or continental, we chose the full breakfast with plenty of options to choose from. Rest... Read more

We stayed in the premiere King room. Room was good, fridge however didn't work. We don't like to sleep with controlled air on, so thicker bedding would be better then just a sheet. We had a miss understanding with our parking at the hotel which was quickly resolved. Have stayed here a few times as the location is perfect and so close to everything. Will definitely stay here again, however I do think they need to update the rooms.

Our king room was clean, comfortable with all amenities one would expect from a quality hotel. Absolutley no complaints. Bonus free wifi and newspapers. Location for afl at etihad is superb and the casino is a 400m walk. The centre of Melb is simply a matter of getting the collins st tram (directly outside) for a 5 min free ride. It also allows use of the skybus service from the airport to southern cross station opposite which is good value and fast. ( 25 mins & $18 each) We would stay there aga... Read more

Got off the skybus bus and walked across the road to the hotel. Very handy spot for AFL games at Etihad Stadium, and walking to the Crown casino. Caught the 96 tram outside the door to St Kilda and other way to the mall up town. Nice large rooms. Great water pressure in the shower, fluffy towels and comfy pillows. Very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.

Good idea to ring ahead if you have a large vehicle in order to obtain the code to enter Flinders Lane Carpark before check in as the basement Carpark is extremely tight. Facilities are a bit dated but comfortable. It's really the location and price that attracts me to this place as it is great value. We had a blocked toilet on arrival and it was no bother to relocate us on a Friday evening.

Economy room and last minute booking. Close to Etihad Stadium for a night at the football. Close to the Casino and accessible to Doxklands. Value for money. Everything we needed. Small but comfortable and quiet.

The bedroom was well maintained but possibly a bit dated. Mismatched tiles in the bathroom where repairs had been done. A nise touch was a Samsung smart tv with instructions on how to connect an external device (USB HDMI) to the TV. The menu was very limited and the restaurant empty but Melbourne is full of great places to eat.

It's very clean. Lots of space for 2 room apartment. Close to everything. Trams easy to use. You r walking distance to dfo at spencer street station. Very friendly staff. Parking is a little bit hard to get into. King bed is hard but ok.

This hotel is clean and neat, was just me in the room for one night in a single bed. The economy room was nothing flash the bathroom was small and the shower drain was blocked but apart from that was a decent place to stay for the night. The addition of a wall point for USB and HDMI is a great idea, it saved me from poking around the back of the TV to play my laptop on the screen.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Staff were efficient and helpful. Parking was not a problem for family that visited us at hotel and we were able to leave our luggage there until it was time to catch the train. Very central to football, casino and theatre. Will definitely be going back.

I stayed here during the winter and I had a very average experience. I was visiting with a friend and the twin share is two single beds. The room was cold, the walls thin and the bedding even thinner. There's a lamp in the "premium economy" rooms that does not in fact have a switch so remains on so long as the key is in the wall - so no watching TV in the dark. But a miscellaneous unmarked switch apparently belonging to the heating unit is scattered unlabelled in the room. That was a fun discov... Read more

Having stayed there in a group previously, we decided to get a single room just for the two of us - bad mistake!! The room was very very small, with an adjoining room which had a gap under the door about 3 inches from the ground and we could hear every single noise from the next room. The wooden floors meant we could hear every noise from the corridor - and we paid $199 for the privilege!!

I always write my reviews on places to include the things that I always look for in reviews, so here we go ...... first time staying at this hotel on Saturday night (16th July), in a Premier Double Room. Hotel is located diagonally opposite Southern Cross Station, which is ideal when arriving by train or Sky Bus. We arrived at 1pm, and our room was ready which was good, as we wanted to dump our bags. Check in was friendly and efficient, only requiring photo ID, payment for room up front, and n... Read more

We stayed here with 2 other people on a visit to Melbourne for Oz Comic-Con. The location was perfect - walking distance to Southern Cross Station, Etihad, MCG, South Wharf DFO's, Melbourne Convention Centre and Crown Casino area. Rooms were comfortable and very spacious, with a small kitchenette to enable you to cook meals on site. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
