Not impressed in the slightest. Upon arrival the receptionist was rude and abrupt. I had requested check in at 12pm, and they couldn't meet this, which was fine, but we weren't made aware until we arrived two hours early that this was the case. It would have been nice to be notified that 12pm checkout wasn't possible, rather than face the snotty nosed receptionist that was rude about the whole ordeal. I requested a high floor, and this request was met. There were blood stains on the doona cover... Read more

These apartments are really great for your visit to melbourne. So close to EVERY thing. Close to a tram station. Friendly helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and modern. Only 10 mins walk from Victoria markets, close to convenient stores. Awesome restaurants are just downstairs. The metro is located in a amazing old school style alley way! If u want a good experience while in Melbourne don't risk the accommodation stay at the Metro Apartments. Best value for money

Bank Place was perfectly located, and the hotel was easy to find and get to via public transport, walking and the Skybus service from the airport. The stairs at the very front of the building were a pain with baggage but inside the apartments were clean, always well serviced every day and we had absolutely no issues. Free, quality internet is always a treat too.

The apartment I stayed in was nice, the location is good, unfortunately it was all overshadowed by the bed bugs I found in my room on the last night. I was covered in bites which didn't seem too bad until they became inflamed and incredibly painful. Staff gave me a new room as soon as I told them, but not worth taking the risk. I ended up throwing out my suitcase to try and make sure I didn't take them home with me. A disaster.

Mid-week two night stay. Close to city centre and public transport. One bedroom apartment which was clean and well appointed. Shower was over bath. Check-in and out was very easy. Wifi worked a treat. Steps at entrance could be difficult with larger bags.

this apartment was in a great location. the staff were friendly and helpful. we were in a room at the back of the block but the people we were with were at the front and heard a lot of noise at night from the nightclub below. It didn't affect us. Everything else was great.

This place perfectly suited my working week when in the city as the location is so central. Rooms are tired though although after a few days of course it feels like home. It is very inner city with the noise of bottles being crashed and sorted early morning from the nearby Irish pub and there's no view apart from alleyways and rubbish skips. Same price as the Travelodge on Southbank but a world away from that homogenous world. So I would stay there again but don't raise your expectations too hi... Read more

I stayed in a one bedroom apartment while on business in Melbourne. For me it was a great location surrounded by good restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean but not overly spacious. I received a call shortly after leaving that I had left my phone charger in the room which was much appreciated.

I stayed at Metro Apartments on Bank Place for 3 nights. I arrived early and my room was ready (they have luggage storage). I was upgraded from a studio apartment to a one bedroom apartment. Service at checkin and checkout was warm and friendly. The apartment had all the necessary amenities. I quite liked the pump bottles of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream etc in the bathroom. The apartment is on the smaller side, so don't expect luxury but it is clean and comfortable. I've stayed at Metro Bank Place a few times now. For location it's impossible to beat. perfectly spotted in the heart of the cbd and adjacent to an endless array of food and drink options. I'm in Melbourne a lot for work and this is looking like my new home away from home! The one bedroom apartments have everything I need at a very good price point. Staff are excellent with future bookings and I'm always greeted with a warm smile. They even handled a booking for a colleague with no effort ... Read more

I stayed at the Metro Apartments for 2 nights. I had read the reviews about the noise so contacted the hotel and requested a room on the quiet side. It was fantastic, didn't hear a thing. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Friendly & considerate staff, luggage storage and handy to Southern Cross station to catch the Sky bus back to the airport.

This property is in a great location, the room we stayed in was smaller than I expected but had very good appointments. Two issues - firstly the shower was a bit tired looking and the tap worked the opposite to what the Hot/Cold indicated. Secondly, the noise from the night club downstairs went on till the early hours of the morning and made getting to sleep difficult.

Great hotel, good value, clean and fast wifi. Centrally located for those who get the sky bus into Melbourne from the airport. Close to decent cafe's and well its Melbourne so you are never far from good public transport. I am not sure many if any of the rooms have views but TBH that wasn't an issue as I enjoyed walking around Melbourne and simply using the room to either relax or sleep in. I would def stay there again and recommend it to others. Staff are very friendly!

If I could rate a -5* (MINUS) I would have. After a beautiful family day in Melbourne we had dinner and headed back to the hotel. We quickly feel asleep and then were all rudely awaken at midnight from the nightclub in the vicinity. It was like our bed was in the middle of the dance floor..... After 4 hours of duff duff duff noise I called reception who was not interested what so ever. Due to the lack of sleep I asked for a late check out but was bluntly refused. When checking out the receptioni... Read more

We were greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival. The check-in was very smooth and in no time, we were in our room resting. There was complimentary wifi and the room was clean. The aircon was slightly noisy but we were fine as we were only staying for a night. Although Metro Apartments on Bank Place is located in the Melbourne cbd area, it is in one of the alley and may be a little inconvenient for those who drive (no on-site parking). Needed an apartment for 3 adults in town. This location was perfect for us, but the hotel is in an old building and space is very limited. Noise overlooking Bank Place went til past 3am!! Ask for room on other side of building. 3 adults in a one bedroom - the bathroom was through the bedroom - NOT great! Room was very small. Check in/check out quick and easy. For the price next time would try somewhere else.

This is a hotel of two halves. The rooms are fantastic. Very spacious and clean. The bed was great as well. But beware if you are staying on a Friday or Saturday night be prepared for the noise from the nightclub down stairs. It doesn't stop until 5.30 in the morning. If you are in a room overlooking Bank place you will hear it all night. Even on the 7th floor it was horrendous. Apart from the nightclub the rooms are great.

Stayed at the Metro on Bank Place, great central location, close to Crown Casino, shops and the train station. Got there, booking in was easy and the room was as described and clean. The only issue we found was that it was directly next to an indian restaurant, which made the whole room smell of Indian food (which isnt as issue if you love Indian food) and it's also next to a nightclub / pub ... so the constant sound of bottles being thrown into the large bin in the alley and club music all thro... Nice clean rooms in a great location in CBD, the only negative thing is the loud music coming from the night club a few doors down until 5AM! I knew this was an issue when l booked so l requested that we be put in a quieter room at the back of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and assisted with this request but it was still really noisy! So if you are deaf or sleep like the dead this is a great place to stay, but l won't be back again due to the noise factor. Surely the night club can t... Read more

Stayed here last night... DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! Flew in for a business meeting and booked an early flight the next morning, After maybe two hours of sleep I was rudely woken up with the boom - boom sound waves from the nearby nightclub, which went until around 4.30am! Needless to say, I did not enjoy my stay, felt absolutely terrible getting ready for my early return flight and wasted my money. I guess I would have slept better in a dark alley somewhere in town.

I stayed in this hotel for work mostly on Monday and Tuesday nights. The pub on the street closes early on these days so the party noise was not too bad. However, the garbage collection in the middle of night / early morning can be annoying when they try to empty the bin full of beer bottles. The tip is to ask for the room on the upper floor so the street noise is less bothering.

I stayed for 2 nights in a studio apartment. Check in and out was quick and friendly. Awesome location, close to everything. I stayed on the third level (306). The only negatives are it's very noisy, especially when the other businesses empty their bins late at night and early morning. The heater/air con didn't work. It turned on but never let air out. Clean and sufficient.

Great location, good price, very small, but clean room, loud neighbourhood, friendly/helpful staff. We got to the hotel at 8am after a 24 hour trip from Toronto. They were able to prioritise cleaning our room to get us checked in at midday, well before the standard check-in time. We really appreciated this. If you are fine with a small room, and somewhat loud noises at night don't bother you, then this is a great place to stay.

Good location, nice people and clean. But a nightclub plays loud and proud till 4.30am. That's then followed up by emptying all the beer bottles loudly into the bin outside. Ask for a room that's quiet, and away from the bars.

This is a great location off the busy main streets, walking distance to most attractions and very close to tram. The building is old with some steps up to the entry. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The double room I was in was a bit cramped with not much storage space. The bathroom was renovated with a good sized shower recess. I would stay there again for a short break.

We booked this room on returning from 6 weeks in Europe. The room was tiny! There wasn't space between the bed and the wardrobe to pull the suitcase through, and it's not a big suitcase. We had to park the suitcases in front of the door as there was nowhere else for them. The wardrobe door was broken and not sliding properly. The 1980's called, they want their room back. We stayed for one night in a queen room, it was very cramped and dated. Furthermore, there was night time gas works happening literally outside our window, as a result we were surprised the hotel didn't allocate us a room at the rear of the property to reduce the noise levels. We wouldn't stay at a Metro property in the future based on this experience in Melbourne.

We were told, only once we had checked in and paid, that the council would be digging up the lane-way outside our window. Had we been advised, even a couple of hours earlier, we could have changed our stay to a different night. We got no sleep. The first room we were given had the most horrible smell of mould.
