Stayed at the Mercure treasury gardens recently, first stop of the wonders of australia by Distant journeys, (fantastic tour). Decent hotel, with a nice breakfast, and good bar, but best of all a great location, with the park in front. Turn right out of the hotel, and there is a tram stop, where you can travel arround the city free of charge. Turn left from the hotel, and it`s a short walk to lot`s of resturaunts. Overall would be happy to stay here again.

The Hotel is in good position for exploring Melbourne the staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately we were on the 11 floor room 1101 we found it very noisey as the bath room extractor runs permanently also the ventilation equipment Is situated above this level we complained as we could not get to sleep. The staff are aware of this problem and moved us to floor 9 which was a lot better. The breakfast was okay but we had to ask for the buffet to be topped up each day as it was not fill... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights in a twin room. Hotel is well placed in Spring St with trams down Collins St & Flinders St about a minutes walk. There is a small hill but we used the Collins st trams and it is a downhill walk to hotel from city and we used Flinders St trams to go to city and this is also downhill. Dinner at hotel was good but not a lot of menu choices. Hotel across the road from the gardens and Captain Cooks Cottage . Staff friendly and helpful, beds comfy - we had 2 queen beds i... Read more

My room had the scent of "stinky feet" every time I entered. The shower door got stuck on the bath mat. The car parking was overpriced and one wouldn't wish to have a large car as the car space was very tight. On the way in one was let in as soon as one rang the door bell however on the way out one had to wait ages to be let out? The room I purchased was with view over the City but the room I was allocated was on 1st floor overlooking the front parapet and the only view I had was when I looked ... Read more

The room was adequate however the shower consistently overflowed into the bathroom. The bar at the hotel was not really up to par with staff who did not know much about drinks. The post mix was flat and when I asked for another G and T because of the flat tonic they said they will do something about the gas. After 10 minute wait I got another drink no better so I just left it about $10.00 wasted.

Convenience is the main attraction for this hotel, as it is close to major sport stadiums such as the MCG. It is clean and comfortable and the price is good for a CBD property although the extra $15 for a gardens view is a gimmick. There are breakfast option just down the street if you want to avoid the $25/head price for breakfast in the restaurant.

We chose the Mercure Treasury Gardens for its proximity to the Windsor Hotel for dining and Her Majesty's theatre and were delighted with the decision. It was a cold, rainy blustery day in Melbourne, contrasting with the warm, friendly ambience of this hotel and its amazing staff. It is a gigantic plus to stay in a place where they really make you feel right at home, without fuss or deliberate effort. I stayed here for 2 nights this week and honestly, the location is just perfect. A 10 minute walk through Chinatown and you are at Bourke Street / Elizabeth Street for shopping. Treasury Gardens across the road, theatres and restaurants within walking distance, MCG also within walking distance and an on site restaurant. It ticks all the boxes. The hotel itself is relatively modern, very clean, rooms are somewhat small and the bathroom is minuscule but who cares, you're not in Melbourne to li... Read more

Have stayed here before and find it convenient for pickups by friends, as it is on the edge of the city. It is well serviced by the free City Circle tram. Rooms are adequate, but not large. Staff are always attentive, as they should be, and I am happy to keep staying here when in Melbourne. I had a case of deja vu, when I ordered The Australian newspaper, this morning. The hotel had delivered The Friday edition.(Again) The 12 noon checkout on Sundayi is a nice touch

Couldn't be more convenient for all "must do" sights and the free tram. Excellent staff and breakfast selection was inspired with full cooked breakfast as well as shot glasses of yogurt and bircher muesli. The staff were so friendly and informative . the beds were a slight bit hard, but I'm very fussy on my bed. The free tram is at the corner, probably 50 steps away. I can't wait to stay here again. I didn't notice the "paying wifi" icon when I book because I didn't realize such a hotel still exist, apparently such dinosaurs still do.
