Stayed here for conference as in very convenient position to everything. Reasonable charge for City hotel. Room accommodated 3 adults very well as had 2 single beds in main room plus divided wall with separate queen bed behind it with its own television. Beds very clean and extremely comfortable. Room very quiet for sleeping. Bathroom clean and excellent shower. Reception desk very friendly and obliging. Only negative was $7.00 locker charge for leaving luggage. Whilst this place is definitely not 5 stars, the my room was comfortable, clean and contemporary. In my case, this was a social rather than business stay, but I must admit the desk in our room (186) would be too small for operating a laptop. I am sure other rooms may be better. Anyway great location and reasonable prices. I would be happy to stay again.

Stayed for two nights with a friend who recommended it. Very convenient location, centre of Melbourne. Quiet area on Little Collins. Room was just adequate - very small for two twin beds and my friend was disappointed as she had stayed several times and had a room twice the size. Was in the old section of the hotel (but refurbished) Would book direct with the hotel next time, as opposed to on-line. But price was very reasonable.

Great position, friendly staff at reception and throughout the Hotel, clean rooms but a little expensive. Great Restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner attached. Easy walking distance to all shops and eating areas and sporting venues. Covered Car parking at a cost.

Stayed just the one night. Excellent location right in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. The hotel has been refurbished quite recently and they have done a very good job. My queen room was spacious, very clean and a really comfortable bed. The staff are all friendly. A very good birthday breakfast.

The ibis Styles Hotel, The Victoria Hotel (sounds like 2 hotels!) is very good value for CBD Melbourne and is situated in Little Collins Street- a reasonably quiet one way street. Check-in could be somewhat friendlier but is quick and efficient. I was here on business for 2 nights and had a twin room to myself. The room has obviously been refurbished in recent history, it is compact but well-appointed. The bathroom has just a shower (who needs a bath these days?), WC and basin but is more than a... This place has a long history. I have fond memories of staying there as a child from the country. It is in the heart of Melbourne, close to everything, in quiet street. It was an old 'Temperance Palace' and grew like Topsy so it is across several buildings and levels. It has been nicely renovated and is very comfortable. There are some small internal staircases so let them know if it is a problem . It is really good value.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The check in staff were very nice and polite. We arrived at around 11:00am and our room was ready which was good. The room was very spacious, clean and beautiful in keeping within the heritage of the building but everything was modern. The room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable making for a great nights sleep. Check out was quick and easy. Will definitely return again. Beautiful building, beautiful room, great staff and a hotel with style.

The Victoria Hotel is a long-established Melbourne landmark hotel that has been refurbished and rebranded as an ibis. It's just moments from Flinders Street station and Bourke Street Mall, and wirhin walking distance of most of the CBD and Southbank. Our room was spacious and comfortable with fridge and kettle. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean with a very good shower. However, the air-conditioning was very noisy and didn't really work very well. WiFi requires an activation code tha... Read more

Visiting Melbourne this is a good value hotel to enjoy the sights, shops and entertainment areas of the city. We stayed 5 nights and easily walked to many places. The hotel is an Ibis standard with a good bed and service. That's all we want on such a trip. Need to improve their plumbing - cold tap was frozen solid and not fixed after reporting on first day!!!

We were a group of 22 people travelling from India and had a unique experience at our stay in gold Coast hotel. Let us discuss it in full length.... 1...As I said Heritage hotel previously known as Victoria and has been refurbished but still lacks modernism.. 2... Although centrally located in CBD and close by to major markets and Filanders Street station. 3... Tram service is just 300 metres and hotel is situated in a side street reducing vehicles noise. 4...Grand Reception and lobby, check in ... Read more

This is the second time we have stayed here after a function at the town hall. Rooms are clean, basic but we'll appointed. The only downfall on this stay was finding a dirty pair of underwear from a previous occupant lodged between the bed and side table!

This was a great place to stay, close to the main shopping center . Stayed here many years ago and was pleased to see that it has been done up. Nice bar to have a drink and meet friends, and also enjoyed the attached restaurant. the room was also very quiet. Will be staying at the Victoria again, especially after getting a good whot if deal. It was just a perfect ending to my holiday before returning to Nz. Thanks

Great location, great value for money and well priced buffet breakfast . There is also a comfortable bar on the mezzanine level and taxis are always conveniently located out the front of the hotel. The gym and pool is also more than adequate.

Very nice hotel, 4 star quality. Very centrally located in Melbourne city. The quality of rooms is wonderful, spacious enough for two. The jacuzzi and pool on the top floor are a must try with warm water even during autumn. The staff is courteous. Only negative point is that they ask for a deposit at the time of check in which is refunded at the time of check out. Overall a wonderful stay experience during our holiday in Melbourne.

A Quaint hotel in a fantastic location. Rooms were adequate if you are on holiday - don't expect 5* or even 4* quality. But its a good size, comfy bed and decent sized bathroom. What I loved about it was the location as it was close to all the trams / trains, shopping and eating outlets. It was 3 mins from the Yarra River which is a great place to run in the early mornings. Will stay there again for sure.

Hotel is well located and clean. Easy walk to all Melbourne sites and attractions. Rooms small and access can be slow as the hotel is split into 2. We got sold a 2 bedroom apartment but ended up with 2 separate rooms.. Not ideal. Staff friendly enough.

this is my second stay at this hotel, would highly recommend it, very central to the city, you can walk most everywhere. Plenty of places to eat nearby and not far from the shops. My granddaughter and I got an upgrade to an excellent room, very clean, cosy and warm. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially those where you can get breakfast. The breakfast itself is excellent.

I stayed overnight with my mother and my 6 year old daughter. The room and bathroom were small but had everything we needed. It was very clean apart from some strange yellow marks on the walk and ceiling of the bathroom. We stayed on the 8th floor and as such had to use 2 separate lifts to get to our room which included a walk down a corridor in between, we didn't mind this at first but after coming and going a few times this was inconvenient. We arrived at 1am and were given a corner room, that was the size of a shoebox with no phone reception in the middle of the CBD. Requested a change, we got a room below level 1 that had no windows, requested a change to have at least a window to feel comfortable. Our third room had no cool working on the aircon and we were told that aircon units don't have cold, even though cool was an option. The layout is like a maze and made us feel very uncomfortable. 1958 was the first time I stayed at the Victoria Coffee Palace and in the 58 years since, through its changes of ownership and various make overs, and changes of name, it's still the only place I stay in Melbourne. The location is perfect. You're only a step or short tram journey away from anywhere you may want to go ( like David Jones Food Hall) just down the road. The location of this hotel is fantastic. Right in the heart of the city and walking distance to everything that Melbourne has to offer. Located on a side street makes it less noisy which is great. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. The staff were lovely but the lobby felt seedy. The bathroom of the room we stayed in was fine but the room itself was basic and dated.

I didn't expect much from this hotel, except for the central location, and I was right. It's a little dated and some staff need to be retrained in customer service, The reception desk and lobby is continually busy with guests arriving at all times and then taking over the lounges on the mezzanine floor to sleep until their room is ready. Reminded me of backpacking hostels. Our party of 3 was in a heritage triple room on the 5th floor east wing. It was ok, the beds were comfortable, the room was ... Read more

They don't clean the rooms, housekeeping just makes the bed and empties garbage. The building is old and rooms smell. A piece of paper remained on the floor for 3 days! I would have given it a two-and-a-half stars, not even three. On the positive side, it is very centrally located and you can walk everywhere in the CBD.

The room was clean but small, the bathroom looked to be recently renovated and had a great sized shower. The bed was not terrible, but not a dream to sleep on. We found reception, housekeeping and bar staff to be very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent, with trams and shops only a block or so away. Have stayed here about 4 years ago, and with this stay found the refurbished rooms and Hotel area to be excellent. Smaller rooms, but ideal for a business traveller over night, or for a couple who will spend most time out and about. Its in an excellent central location in Melbourne city, and charge is very good. I wouldn't recommend the Breakfast Buffet, pretty average, but with heaps of cafe's nearby easy to eat out. Very clean and well maintained.

I've stayed at The Vic many times and never had a problem. For a relatively cheap hotel, in the CBD, it's great. The chocolates I forgot to take with me were mysteriously "melted" before I cud fone and ask for them to be passed to my daughter and two ladies were expected to share a queen size bed..... I was repaid for my choccies and the room became a twin so all was well... These thing happen and the staff always try to help.
