First time I've stayed here as the Pullman - and it's great... My view over the MCG was great... But the highlight was the comfortable bed and hard pillows. So many hotel go for the soft pillows that give most of us neck pain the next day! Also the robes were soooo soft! Will stay again!

A large international style hotel with full facilities including excellent sauna, stream room, jacuzzi and outdoor pool. Comfortable, large lobby and exceptionally good reception and front of house staff who took every opportunity to make us feel welcome and to offer immediate solutions to special requests. Room was pretty standard but comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would happily stay again.

The Pullman is in a excellent location close to the MCG and the City Centre. The tram stop is only 100metres from the front door. You can walk into the City through the Fitzroy and Treasury Gardens. If you drive you can self park in the basement car park which you enter via a ramp located at the front entrance to the hotel. There are several good restaurants a short walk to the east along Wellington Parade.

As travel is a huge part of my profession, I've been to Pullman here in Melbourne and other countries/cities a several times and the experience had always been good. I markedly enjoy the eggs florentine for breakfast and think the chef does a commendable job at it. The staff are all very courteous, especially the ones working in the restaurant and the in room dining. This time, my experience got me to actually install the trip advisor app and write this review. heading to a Friday night game at the 'G', we decided to book a room in the city instead of the long drive back to the country. We looked at other options but the ease of location and comfort levels were a big factor for us. It seems they do put the rates up when there is a football game or event on at the MCG, which is to be expected. We utilised the self park option, which I feel is excessive at $35, especially as there are no other o/night parking options. You would think paying guests would ... Read more

Dear All The internet policy in the hotel is not quite practical. Even if you purchase a subscription it won't still work in the lobby even though many hotels nowadays provide internet for free. I had also a chewy bonish substance in my burger at the hotel's bar. When questioned, the chef identified it as safe to eat. Nice T'V's though in the rooms.

Stayed for one night as we were going to the footy on a Saturday night. All staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and had great views of the MCG which looked amazing at night. The pullman is across the road to the MCG and if you cut through the Fitzroy Gardens its a 10 minute walk into the heart of the CBD.

We stay here at least once or twice a month for business and I have slowly seen a decline to the level of comfort in the rooms, the beds, the Internet speeds and availability and the food options. We stayed here for 2 nights in July, principally to attend a footy match at the MCG. The service was great, we had 2 meals & breakfast in the restaurant, which was surprisingly affordable for a large hotel chain & the quality was also very good. On the fringe of the city of Melbourne this is a very conveniently located hotel. The trams from the city stop outside the hotel and it is only 4-5 minutes from the city and other connecting tram routes. The hotel staff are very friendly and approachable with very good customer service ethics. The stabndard of service, cleanliness and room facilities are of a very high standard.

Warm and friendly welcome. Comfortable room. Good gym. Room service efficient, though the deconstructed lemon tart was a massive disappointment, nothing deconstructed about it at all. All ingredients from a jar or a packet, dreadful. Left my breakfast, clearly not finished, on the table for a moment to refill coffee cup, only to return to find it removed! No apology or attempt to find me another table - that was poor service. Quick and efficient check out service!

I have stayed at this hotel many times when it was part of the Hilton chain. One of the nice features was that you could invite a single customer or work colleague up to the executive lounge for a drink and nibble before going out. Previously, with the Hilton there was no charge with the guest, they had well known, quality wines and a good selection of both hot and cold foods. Under the Pullman they charge $55 for the guest, serve limited quality food and the wine is from some Argentinian winery... Read more

The room was large and comfortable but it is all a bit tired. The bathroom was OK but nothing special - again, ageing but not gracefully. The walls must be pretty thin because I could hear a lot of noise from next door. In particular the plumbing in the bathroom. Breakfast - expensive. The rooms in the hotel are as expected and the staff at reception friendly. However, there are things that spoils this for me: room service timings were abysmal ( on one occasion it took 1 1/2 hours to come and it was cold ), standard of food low compared to other hotels of this star rating, ridiculous room service at 8.30am on a Sunday morning, noisy (including very squeaky pipe work, noisy staff and visitors early mornings and late at night, and you can hear the lift whizz up and down all nig... This is a 1970s looking hotel with nice enough public areas and a great location overlooking the iconic MCG. We paid the premium for Exec Lounge access, worth it for us as we like a comfortable bolt-hole to escape to in the evenings.
