This hotel is basically connected to the convention center. If you're attending a convention, it's super convenient. There are a good number of restaurants nearby. And Crown Casino is just a 5-10 minute walk. Nice, good sized, modern rooms with an amazing shower which has great water pressure. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff are superb in the morning. After the 2nd day going to breakfast, several staff recognized me and welcomed me back each morning. We loved it, at first thinking that it's a little out the way but it's not. It's in its own space with great transport close by. A quieter side of Melbourne with amazing restaurants around, location is just perfect and we had such a lovely time. King room with the view is so worth it, just to see the city at night and then the sun rise in the morning is amazing. I don't think you can get a better view of the river and city. I stayed here for one night whilst attending the Good Food and Wine Show in Melbourne. From beginning to end, everything was excellent. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. There was a mixup where a couple was mistakenly checked into my room, but reception swiftly fixed the issue and I was even given a bottle of sparkling wine, which was a lovely gesture. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Melbourne.

My wife and I dashed to Melbourne for a family birthday, and despite looking around, ended up back at the Hilton South Wharf. It was probably our 10th stay there in as many years, as we find the hotel a real sanctuary and a great place to base ourselves from when in Melbourne. We haven't stayed for a few years though, but it was nice when we checked in to be asked if we'd stayed there before, and when we told them how many times, an appropriate amount of fuss was made of us! Stayed here twice. Service was definitely improved second time around, however second time I was given my room as 'ready' at 20 past four. There was one champagne glass missing, marks still left around the basin (not to mention the strands of brown hair in the basin). Also some sequins all over the floor obviously from the person before me. A solid hotel with good sized rooms and well maintained. Bathrooms have separate bath and shower, which is fantastic and water pressure is good. Blinds are brilliant and total blockout. Possibly the best blinds I've ever had in a hotel room! We were in a 'bay view' room, which looks towards Station Pier. The city view rooms are priced higher, but for the same room, and not sure if that is worth anything. We were in Melbourne for a function at the Convention Centre, so the location was perfect.... It always feels so welcoming to come back to Hilton South Wharf, the staff are all amazing and the location excellent if you want to do a spot of shopping next door at DFO. Amazing views from the room, I love to sit and watch the city at night come to life. Exec lounge is large and very well appointed, and lovely to see Josh D on duty keeping an eye on it all. A nice hotel, very much a Hilton. Pretty new with nice rooms. I had a view up the river which offers lots of contrast with sunrises, rowers training and the morning balloons. staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complain was the price of breakfast at $39 which seems to be a Hilton thing. Went around the corner to the Boat Builders Yard café for a much better breakfast at half the price. Stayed at this hotel due to the 50 metre walk to the conference centre. The rooms were large with a king bed, large window overlooking the river. Bathroom was large with both a bath and shower room in it. Deco was good, would visit again, staff friendly, also helped by a coffee shop attached to the hotel, which is great for meetings.

Stayed here for a week, half in a city view room and the other half with friends in a 2 bedroom apartment. Both were adequate, but for a 5 star hotel in a major city, I felt that they just don't meet that rating. Rooms are comfortable with great beds, but nothing exciting about the decor and to be honest I felt there was a shabby quality about the hotel. The reception is not inviting and it's cold. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Great rooms with lovely views over Yarra or over to the bay in the distance. Super comfy beds, fantastic bathrooms and electric block out blinds. Step straight out onto great eateries along south bank and DFO Southbank right next door. Enjoy the buffet breakfast as is a must. Make your own breaky juice combo with the "robot" juicer. We have stayed at the Hilton a few times and this time I have to say I was disappointed. The cleanliness outside the room was very average with the same fluff and rubbish on the floor when we arrived to when we left three days later. Wondering if the cleaners have heard of a vacuum cleaner. The beds and pillows are terrible with all four of us not sleeping particularly well. The only positive was the friendly staff and the relatively modern surroundings. Probably won't stay at this Hilton again.

There are restaurants along the south bank which are within walking distance, and the Discount Factory Outlet is right next the hotel (and so if the Convention Centre) so the location is pretty good if those matter to you. The Hotel itself is modern, I stayed on 16/F giving me view of the city skyline. The view is breathtaking both day and night. Food on the executive floor it's the best I've sample in Hotel hotels, with a free flow of wine, beer, and snacks. Wonderful .

Stayed at this hotel due to a conference. I had forgotten a pair of shoes but no worries a short walk away was the DFO shopping. The conference started the next day and if you stop on level 1 there is direct access to the convention centre. The Crown complex is a stroll either along the beautiful river walkway or inside the glassed convention centre. There is a convenience store on the corner along with bars and other places to eat or get a coffee. This location has it all. As far as the h... Read more

On arrival at the hotel they let us check in early - I'm sure they knew we'd had a long journey?! Check in was quick & efficient. Room was excellent, clean & well maintained. No view, just the car park, but as we were going out & about this wasn't a problem. Bed very comfy, great bathroom & shower. A night light in the loo, excellent idea. Our son notified them that it was my birthday while we were there & they put champagne & chocolates in the room for when we returned from a day out. A lovel... Read more

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. When I arrived around 8:30 a.m. after a long flight from LAX, I was able to check in immediately. As a Diamond member, I was upgraded to a large room with an INCREDIBLE view of the city. The blinds in the room were electronic and were floor to ceiling, meaning they blacked out any sunlight upon request (most hotels have those annoying drapes which let in a crack of light.) The bathroom included both a tub and a shower stall. The Executive Loung... Read more

We stayed here for one night for a work business trip. The hotel is amazing from the moment you walk through the front door. The staff are only too happy to help and the location is perfect, right next to South Wharf DFO shopping town and within walking distance to popular South Bank. The views from the hotel room are fantastic, the rooms are nice and quite and very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is fantastic! I would definitely come back to the hotel and recommend it to others!

My husband and I booked in for our 20th wedding anniversary. At the front reception we were greeted and offered a free glass of champaign. We stayed in a King room it was immaculate! Our view on the 12th floor was spectacular! The bathroom including a bath was nice and modern. A bottle of champagne and biscuits arrived complimentary at our room which blew us away! We had the Buffett for breakfast it was beautiful. The staff were amazing! Highly recommend.

From the moment we checked in until we checked out the service was impeccable.. room was big and comfortable spacious bathroom , bed was amazing didn't want to get out of it , and the black out blinds was a bonus for a cheeky sleep in . The view of the Yarra and city was beautiful at night and could see the crown's flame throwers . As it was my partners birthday they offered complimentary champagne to be delivered to our room , as they forgot they instead gave us buffet breakfast complimentary..... Read more

I spent one night here on the 12 floor. Found staff very pleasant, the room spotless and so so quiet. The breakfast in the dinning room the next morning was very nice. Cheap parking, not undercover. Overall very good place to stay and I will be back.

Staff force you into paying $50 for Valet parking as they don't hold any spaces for self parking guests who are expected to pay $24. Staff had no empathy for our situation and we're not willing to let us self park in their spare car parks.

This is the best Hilton I have stayed at. The staff are professional, friendly and attentive. We stayed in a suite king beds in both rooms and large lounge dinning area with floor to ceiling windows offering the best view of Port Phillip bay. The Executive Lounge is spacious with a variety of seating from table to lounges both inside and out. The food on offer is of a high standard with a good choice. The staff are a standout, nothing is a problem. Location is great and is a short stroll to the... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for a conference (booked by company) and then extended one day for AFL (booked and paid for by myself). The room I had was excellent in size and facilities, well sized and appointed bathroom. Excellent views of the city. The executive lounge is an excellent size with good facilities and food and beverage. The restaurant's buffet breakfast had an excellent variety and more than adequately dealt with Gluten Free - special section with cereal, bread, own toaster and other i... Read more

The front foyer is well set out and very warm , inviting a lovely to look at . Arriving early we were very lucky to be able to go to our room straight away. Check in was fast and we were greeted by a very polite staff member. We were on the 9th floor and with our floor to ceiling windows we had a view of the traffic and the yarra river , right over to the observation wheel. Gorgeous through the day and stunning with all the lights at night. Our room was spacious, clean and very well set out. The... Read more

Loved this place. From the floor to ceiling windows, the comfy beds ,the view and the staff were fantastic. Had a buffet breakfast large choice of food and the staff were very friendly. They charge an extra $3 for an expresso or cappuccino. Have stayed at other hotels and they are included. We stayed in a city view on the 15th floor. If you are a Hilton member you get free wifi and a late checkout if avail. Would definitely stay here again.

Located in the new south Wharf complex with many restaurants within 100 metres of the hotel and DFO (if that's your thing!) next door. Well located for Southbank Casino. Rooms are well laid out and seperate bath is nice. Breakfast was good, but at $40 is pretty steep!

Every time I come to Melbourne, and that is every two to three months, since it opened 6 years ago, I go to the Sourh Wharf Hilton. Great, contemporary hotel. Good restaurant, very nice lounge with terrace and great view. Also the fitness has a great view. The business district is walking distance. The hotel is just beside one of the largest shopping malls and beside the south banks of the Yarra river with its many restaurants and bars. The river banks are also great for jogging. Classy hotel, great service from the concierge to the check in staff to the restaurant staff. Great views from the room & in a great location. Heaps of bars & restaurants right out the front door & DFO shopping 2 minutes away. Take a short stroll to the casino or catch a tram to the centre of Melbourne which only takes 5 minutes.

I have stayed at many five star hotels before.. And I have to say.. Even though this was a comfortable stay.. The room didn't really do much for me.. Quite bland. The decor wasnt really inviting. No wow factor which you want for $400 plus a night.. The buffet breakfast was lovely.. And definitely warrants adding to your room purchase rather than paying separately..! The location is great.. Close to dfo and crown. I'm not sure I'd stay here again.. I know of others much nicer in the area. ??... Read more

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. We chose it because we are HH members due to our use of the Hilton hotel in Kuching and we needed to be on this side of the city. This hotel outdid its Kuching counterpart tenfold. Service was great, rooms were mostly clean apart from a few sticky spots on some of the surfaces in the bathroom (hopefully just toothpaste or hair gel !!). The beds were very comfortable and clean. The only downfall was the noise from the DFO car park works dir... Read more

The room was spacious, clean and a nice size bathroom. Everything at your finger tips loved staying here and will definitely be back. Only complaint is having to pay for wifi. The bed was so comfy and as we were going to a show at The Plenary the location was perfect.

The hotel is a modern design but needs to be cleaned up and renovated. The room was fine but needed paint touch ups and was not sparkling clean as I would expect from a Hilton. Staff was friendly and accommodating but not super efficient.
