I have stayed here a few times for both business and pleasure - the best thing about this hotel is its position. It is super close to South Bank so if you are in town for a conference or just there on holiday it is walking distance from the conference centre, the river side restaurants, the arts centre, the city centre, the shops and main transport. It is modern with a good atmosphere and a distinct boutique style. The rooms are clean and stylish although small and many don't have windows or a v... Read more

This hotel is ideally situated for those wanting the cultural or shopping experience. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Daily 'happy hour', the $20 dinner special each night with a glass of wine and the breakfast to go for $5 which included a coffee and pastry were welcome bonuses.

We stayed for three nights and found the room to be very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The location is definitely the best feature of this hotel, right across the road from the train station, free trams 30m from the door and easy walking distance to river, Federation Square, casino and best shopping precincts.

Being my first trip to Melbourne, the great location certainly help me to navigate and assimilate to the city faster that i would have expected. With a great view, nicely furnished room, it was the perfect place to start and end your day exploring the city. With convenience stores / supermarkets located downstaits, it was a great means to live economically at the city too. Only suggestion is for counter staff to be more pro-active and greet/smile at the guests instead of always being glued to t... Read more

Australian people are very kind! I'm love with them :) This hotel was titled by a local colleague as for "backpackers", but even in business trip I was very satisfied with location, people, restaurant for dinner, with specials every day (risotto+glass of wine for AUD20, delicious!), breakfast was very very good. The room was very poor, but nothing bad at all ... just simple. Very convenient, in front of Flinders train station ... near to good bars and bistro. I strongly recommend,

This hotel is brilliant. It is across from Flinders Street Station and very close to Federation Square and the city. The foyer is modern and inviting. On arrival we we offered a warm cookie - perfect for a snack on a wintery Melbourne night! The room was clean with a beautiful, funky bathroom. The gym while small overlooks the street and has great equipment. Exceeded my expectations! Thought room would be a small and old and uncomfortable. Quite the opposite! Highly recommended and very good value. The room looked newly renovated. Bed was very comfortable. Although breakfast was only continental style, it is enough. There is also a juicer for you to make your own fresh juices - tomatoes, celery and green apples. Of course, breakfast is free if you are HH gold member.

I stay in this hotel every week. I prefer to only stay in this hotel as I find the staff to be superior to other properties. In fact, I would argue the staff in this hotel set a standard for other Hilton and other branded hotels to follow.

May have been the weather or just my stars but with my previous stay being at the Hilton on the Wharf in Melbourne this hotel was dearer and not up to its usual standard. Getting any service on the phone was a lost cause, as was service in the restaurant in the evening. I am hoping that it was an isolated off-day because it is central and I would like to keep it on my list of places to stay in Melbourne.

Very nice, modern hotel in a great, convenient location on Flinders Street. The only problem is the shower. In the spirit of "modern" it has half a glass enclosure, but there is not door on the other half. Therefore, it's cold at all times when showering and water goes ALL over the bathroom floor. I would recommend staying at this hotel, but they should address this issue.

They have redeemed themselves. This visit was a follow up, second chance after our visit in December 2015. This visit was what we originally expected of a Hilton Property. From the initial contact with Allison is Reservations to the very warm welcome from Michelle at Reception when we checked in, our stay was quite pleasant. There are heaps of restaurants and other shops nearby, and our view of the Yarra River was quite nice.

Hotel was in a good location, well suited to all attractions and close to trams. I was a little disappointed with the room size, it's tiny!! Very bland room and no wow factor at all. I've seen that most people have written staff were friendly however I found that not to be overly true. Didn't ask if we had a nice stay- just something I would expect a concierge to ask in a hotel like that. I wouldn't go back, it's not the worst hotel but I would just say I was disappointed!

Perfect location, right across from Flinders Station and a short walk across the river to South Bank. Tram stops nearby, walk to pubs, restaurants and shopping. This hotel is in the Flinders street so it is located inside the city and it is very convenient. The downside is that you do not expect quiet nights as the street might get busy and the noise from the trains but they are all at a tolerable level. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. We stayed just for the one night as we were attending a concert. I called the hotel on the way there to see where we should park. They were very helpful. The room itself was very small. Needs Improvement: When asked what view we're getting at the counter when checking in, the reception staff replied 'River view'. Great location closed to everything, friendly staff. Stayed at level 10, a bit noisy in the early morning around 5:30am. But housekeeping would need some improvement: 1. One of the bottle water with "compliment tag" was already been opened. 2. No shampoo provided either in bathroom or in the shower area, only body wash gel, body lotion and conditioner (or I may got misunderstand of the use, maybe the body wash gel should be used for both hair and body?) Great location, great service and great rooms. Wont be disappointed for the short stay business traveller or the leisure traveller. The entry is small and the foyer includes the bar and restaurant all within the same hall, which is acceptable given the hotel's tiering and layout of the entry hall. Rooms are acceptably spacious meeting requirements for a leisure or short stay business traveller and bathrooms are modern and perfectly sized relative their rooms.

We recently spent 5 nights staying in the hotel. The location was fabulous, right across the road from Flinders Street Station, a short walk to Federation Square and to the Bourke Street Mall. There is a Woolworths almost next door if you need supplies and a Coles around the corner on Elizabeth Street. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable and I loved being able to choose a suitable pillow. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Great location easy walk to casino and aquarium. Was concerned there maybe noise from Flinders St as had rooms facing the street, but it was not a problem. The staff were friendly and efficient rooms clean and beds comfortable. Would happily return next time in Melbourne

My spouse and I stayed in room #1113 from Nov 11 to Nov 15. The hotel was centrally located and locals attractions were within walking distance. Our room was somewhat small compared to other Doubletree properties but it was very quiet given the urban location. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was roomy. Each morning, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet where there were plenty of hot and cold food choices. The hotel staff were helpful. Blair who checked us in gave us plenty of helpful t... Read more

We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton over our wedding weekend and had two rooms. Hotel staff were very helpful with all our services arriving on our wedding morning and ensuring our rooms were cleaned as soon as house cleaning arrived on Saturday morning. Staff we amazing throughout the entire stay and very helpful with all our requests. Rooms were beautiful and clean.

I loved the Doubletree Hilton. The rooms are immaculate and the bed very comfy. Everything in your rooms you could want. And it is very central in Melbourne - you can just about walk to anywhere. Right across the road from the spectacular Victoria Station

Overall, not a flashy hotel but very good quality. Location - what can we say more, right in front of the Flinders Street Station. You can pretty much walk to everywhere. Room - good enough size for a solo traveler. Very comfortable bed, good-sized work desk, single couch with footrest. Bathroom - no bathtub but nice shower. Service - Staff are friendly and efficient.

Like many central Melbourne stays the Doubletree manages to provide a great stay, a cool Melbourne vibe all within very small guest rooms. The standard rooms are very small in size and you and your travel companion can expect the become very well acquainted. As a fresh build and brand, the decor is appealing and everything works as it should. This is not a luxury hotel, rather it is a big brand hotel chain take on the boutique hotel. Perfect for a weekend away to explore Melbourne of enjoy on... Read more

motel room was clean if a bit small,, and no view in my window. Kettle had to be plugged in on table underneath TV away from fridge and other supplies. Room was very clean and shower was excellent, the towels were nice and thick. Bed was so comfortable (no extra pillows in room though) i would definitely stay here again!!

The position of this hotel could not be faulted - walking distance to all trams, city, casino etc. A twin room was booked several months in advance but we were disappointed on arrival that we were given a 3rd floor room (room was lovely!) looking out to a door which was used for people having their cigarettes while looking into the room! As a HHonors member who has shown loyalty to the Hilton Brand over the last couple of years through many Hilton stays, this room was VERY disappointing! We were... Read more

We stayed the one night here and enjoyed the experience. The city view room was spacious with a king size bed and good sized bathroom. There was a desk and single chair - would have been great to have a couple of chairs, but hey, sitting on the bed isn't the end of the world. The staff were welcoming and friendly and our room on the 7th floor was nice and quiet. All in all a pleasant experience and the DoubleTree will be on our list the next time we are looking for somewhere to stay in Melbourne... Read more

Double Tree by Hilton Melbourne- The Hotel is in the heart of Melbourne all the arcades are at a walkable distance and the staff are very helpful and nice. Regarding views we didn‚??t have one since we were facing another building-therefore we had a wall right at our window. Our room was small but was nice and clean. It was what we needed we only come back to sleep after all our touring‚??s. We got back to the hotel late one night and we realized that the room was not serviced. When I informed... Read more

Like an upmarket version of the QT chain. You get a cookie on check in. The bar area is cool and bfast buffet looks great!. The location is awesome and if you're a fitnessfirst member, you have a really good one next door.. Location is awesome, walk, train or tram your way around. However, If you need parking and access to your vehicle this is not the place for you.
