My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights recently. The location is just superb with almost everything within reach. Food is not a problem as the alleys around the place is packed with all sorts of restaurants and cafes. The queen room is OK and ours has a view of the mall (MYER and David Jones and H&M). The breakfast is really nothing to shout home about but everything else is just perfect. Staff are all helpful. Note that the elevator gave us some problems on our 3rd and 4th day but the ... Situated in the middle of Bourke Street mall, the causeway is perfectly located for a visit to Melbourne. I was attending a conference so only needed clean comfy room for the night. The room was small but the bed was comfy, the bathroom a good size and very clean. Best things were opening windows, you could hear the buskers, and the individual controls for heating cooling. Rooms were quite. Check in was smooth and the reception was easily found. Access to our room was across the lounge, breakfas... Read more

I know this is not the hotels fault in anyway shape or form but it should be taken into consideration when booking here. Clean and easy place to stay. Nice and central. Wouldn't stay again but only because bathroom facilities were outdated and it was very noisy. I don't mind the noise of the city when I stay in Melbourne but felt more could be done to limit noise. Although maybe staying on a higher floor would help. Did advise of the broken shower but no offer to discount room which I thought was a customer service faux pas. Bed was comfortable and if you are looking for a cheap easy access place to stay for a sho... Read more

Witnessed rude staff to other customers. On speaking to other customers i believe they had the right to be irrate. You cant change the price you have been quoted! Our room was cold, small and your complimentary water is just one bottle over the period of your stay! Bathroom had mould and door had oil running out of hinge...good location but not worth the price. Oh and wi fi is only 2 hrs

Its not the best first impression when you open the door to your room and there is a pigeon in your room. The staff where friendly and changed the bedlinen after we removed the bird. Breakfast is a basic continental but againthe staff where friendly. We couldn't get the heating working very well in our roomand ended up buying a blanket for our bed. It is the perfect location if you want to shop just make sure the lift is working, its a long haul up te steps.

Stayed three nights here. Great location as its right on the mall and I like the fact the entrance is off a laneway with a few cafes. The room was small with not much room for two suitcases. Rooms clean and bed comfortable. Reception staff helpful. My friend also stayed and was allowed into her room early which was good customer service. The tram stop is right out the front on the mall. Would stay here again. Great cafe in the Royal Arcade next door at the other end.

This quirky little hideaway is in such a fabulous location. We have stayed there 3 times now and wouldn't go anywhere else. The rooms aren't massive but neither is the price. Do yourself a favour and take advantage of breakfast. Its a simple fare but a great, easy, cheap start to the day.
