My wife was there for a conference - and she reports that the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They could have done with more staff in the bar at happy hour, but the staff worked hard to do their very best in difficult circumstances. Accommodation was very comfortable and the conference rooms were really good - multi configuration, with one big plenary room very quickly becoming four breakout rooms, working well for 200 people.

We spent three nights here at the end of February/beginning of March. We were a bit put off on arrival as the hotel was very full and the public areas looked overloaded. In fact it was a reunion of WRANS and they left the following day. The staff were a bit frazzled by it all as they had been there for three days previously. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the Park. I guess if we had been there three weeks later for the Grand Prix it would have cost a fortune as it had a gre... Read more

Its a mid range price hotel in a great location but i woulsnt come back. I went for business and arrive later after hours. Firstly they tried to charge me extra for my room. It's a coporate booking for 2 people- we always get queen rooms with 2 beds and nevwr pay extra. As i pay for the room and work reinburses me- I was not inpressed. Especially when the room is 1 queen and a single. Dodgy. Next- the rooms are tired, especially the bathroom. Slightly moldy. Cracked tiles. Water stains. Needs fr... Read more

This hotel is probably what you would expect to get for approx $150 a night. That is a not so comfortable bed and a property that has been built around 30 years ago and has had little done to improve it since. As soon as you walk in the door you are greated by a musty smell, which is throughout the building, reception is slow, my swipe did not work in the door and when the cleaner let us in we found the we were given the wrong room (1 double, 1 single, we needed 2 doubles). We were changed to a ... Read more

Good location with easy access to public transport. Facilities perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean but a little tired. However the price certainly took this into account and I would happily stay here again.

I have used this hotel regularly for 10 years or so and found it a good value location, but on this occasion I was not impressed. The room was tacky with badly worn paint especially on corners, veneers coming off the cupboards, bathroom just needed a spring clean and bed was not well made, sheets crumpled at foot end. A/ was noisey and in efficient. Service was just Ok, but nothing special, no usual welcome etc. At breakfast the area smelt of curry and we were not shown to a table as is normal ... Read more

We booked a family package - $150 including breakfast which is a great deal BUT......as we walked down the hallway I knew it was not going to be even average! The Hallway was freezing, mouldy and carpet needs replacing. We hardly slept due to THIN walls....4 rooms on our level being next door and opposite were clearly all friends and partying ALL night! There was banging doors, yelling, music, loud everything and no one ever came to ask them to be quiet. as for the beds...I have never had such a... Read more

I paid $10.50 to do the right thing and try a local Pinot Noir. This was undrinkable and off. I was offered another drink from the same bottle???? A little disappointed with this I went to the "Restaurant" and ordered the Chief's special, Chicken Schnitzel with Mexican topping. I am glad I did not order the curry because goodness knows what they may have attempted to hid in that. I received a burnt Schnitzel, made of processed pressed meat, with limp and soft salad, I don't know what the Mexica... Read more

When we first got out of lift and found our room right opposite the lift we didn't have great expectations!! However, the sleep quality was good with minimum noise level from both inside and outside the hotel. We had a premium room which was a good size and faced Albert Park. Shower was over bath so may be an issue for some with limited mobility. The hotel doesn't supply any complimentary toiletries apart from liquid soap/shampoo dispenser in shower which didn't worry us as we always bring our... Read more

This hotel needs an overhaul. Rooms very dated. Check in was very slow. Requested 2 adjoining rooms. Got 2 that were on opposite ends of the floor. Asked for it to be changed, was after I spoke to another person at reception. All throughout the hotel they were advertising all day breakfast, that looked nice. Went to breakfast and was told all day breakfast doesn't start till 10.30am. That's not all day.

Stayed for one night, reception, foyer, bar and restaurant areas very nice, corridors upstairs had stained carpets and many marks on walls, made you wonder what the rooms would be like. Pleasantly surprised, large rooms with comfy seating area, comfy beds and pillows and great bathrooms. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Great food served quickly in the bar area. Buffett breakfast ok. Only complaints are only 4 small towels in bathroom for 2 of us and no tea in the dining room... Read more

We needed an overnight stay to attend a concert. The bathroom was dated but clean and served our needs. Our room overlooked Queens Road and was very noisy, even at 3am. While the room was warm and cozy on arrival, it became cold overnight and we needed an extra blanket (provided in room). We are used to cold nights as we live in South Gippsland, but anyone travelling from a tropical country would definitely need extra blankets. However, we found the staff very courteous and helpful. We needed a ... Read more

The hotel is well situated with staff who are generally friendly but not always well trained. As others have commented the hotel is dated in its furnishings. For tourists looking for a good location at sensible prices it is worth considering, however for business use there are some limitations: The wifi is good in the public areas and conference rooms, but was truly woeful in my room - other guests made the same comment. When sat at the desk in my room there was only 1 available power socket so ... Read more

Terrible all over From mould and damp room with water all over the internal room window.Moved to another room which took a cleaner to get us access due to door problems.Thought i had seen it all then heating in room not working properly. No electric blankets or mattress underlay on bed. When checking out not even a sorry from reception or management.I think that says it all.

My room was a long way from the elevators but in a quiet area. Hallways need to be looked after as signs of spillage and chips out of the walls exist. Room was spacious and pleasant and my 3B's were satisfied (bed, bathroom and basic facilities). Reasonably close to the city and to St Kilda and tram not more than 2 blocks away. Just be aware that if you look at or over the carpark to close your curtains at night otherwise your room could light up early in the morning as a guest leaves the carpar... Read more

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Warm, welcoming and comfortable rooms. Location is probably the best point to mention. The hotel is around 100 metres from St Kilda Road and the trams to the city. Easy walk and safe. I recommend this hotel as a good reasonably priced place to stay in Melbourne.

Stayed here location is very close to city . Hotel abit outdated , carpets in hallways stained and dirty. We had a room on the 5th floor and asked to have city views, which we did. Room clean . Being cold it would of been nice to have an electric blanket . Had buffet breakfast which was very nice . Great budget hotel.
