The Adelphi has been around 20-odd years and while I'd been to Ezard's restaurant in the basement, I'd never stayed till now. Our room was very comfortable: good size for a regular room, big and well-appointed bathroom, large TV, great bed, individual climate control (so you don't need to put up with whatever is deemed best for guests). The only downer is the view, which from our room (6th floor) was over a laneway and into apartments, but due to location there's no great views anywhere in the... Read more

Chris and I were ‚??WOW‚??d‚?? from the moment we entered the foyer. The helpful and friendly staff were there to take our bags, offer us a beverage of our choice, and a very personal, sit down check in experience. Hotel check-in‚??s can often be painful and time consuming ‚?? this was the total opposite! Thank you for such a personal touch. We were then shown to our room, where our bags were already waiting for us. The room amenities were explained to us, along with multiple goodies included in... Read more

This is just about the perfect business hotel, and leisure too. I liked absolutely everything, starting from the friendly service at reception and the lovely design of the reception desk (you'll need to go check it out to see what I mean). The rooms are large and very comfortable, and the little things make a huge difference: free wifi, free minibar, a lovely glass jar filled with free snacks and candies and super high quality bath products. This trip was a complete surprise planned by my husband for my birthday. The hotel foyer and restaurant are stunningly decorated and the staff are a joy and couldn't be more helpful. The location is perfect, surrounded restaurants and cafes and the shopping is close enough to stagger back with arms full of purchases. Boutique hotel just how it should be. Couldn't be better ū???

We booked the Adelphi Hotel because my wife and I wanted to spoil ourselves a little with a weekend away in Melbourne for our wedding anniversary. We were immediately impressed by the decor and friendly staff. The room was beautiful and little touches like a hand written card congratulating us on our special occasion were a very nice touch. Complimentary new release movies, wifi and mini-bar (snacks and non-alcoholic drinks) was also unusual I though and a nice change from most hotels who ... Read more

I have travelled to Melbourne many times over the years, and stayed at many hotels, but Adelphi is now my fave. We absolutely loved it! It is a really cool looking hotel with quirky design features, but still very comfortable. I loved the unique decor in the rooms, and the fact that there is complimentary in-house movies and mini-bar, so a chocolate treat was always at hand. Special treatment given for my birthday included birthday card, message written on mirror and free dessert of choice. A boutique-arty hotel where the whole experience is aimed to evoke the senses with the air scented like caramel and a free mini bar of lovely local sweets. We loved our stay at Adelphi. The location was excellent - we had the ability to go anywhere in the city without fuss (public transport). Parking was charged daily in the carpark next door but we didn't take the car out once we arrived because we had everything at our fingertips. Lift service was out of order so they gave a discount on food. Food at restaurant was average (little bang for buck) but rooms were spacious and bathrooms were lovely (walk in, beautiful decor). Functional, Funky and Fun! We loved this hotel, too many of the uber trendy hotels forget that they need to be warm, personal and inviting... These guys certainly keep that front and centre. I'm a sucker for the little things and the signed card by numerous staff members for out anniversary was a winner. Best bed I've had in a hotel too... Beautiful arty boutique hotel, in best possible location in Melbourne (walking distance to the best stores, restaurants and bars) and outstanding service. The breakfast is not included (don't expect the usual and boring buffets), their menu is simple, but the food is delicious. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent service. The bar / reception has a great vibe on Saturday nights too. Can't wait to go back!

We live in Melbourne, but wanted a night in the city. The Adelphi was a perfect venue. The parking next door was convenient and discounted upon validation of the ticket at the hotel. The greeting was warm and informal and the offer of a complimentary drink on arrival is a nice touch. It persuaded us to linger in the foyer a little and by that time we had a chance to look at the menu of the restaurant and decided that it was a far better option than walking out on a very cold night. I really enjoyed the Adelphi Hotel during my recent stay. The rooms are huge, as are the bathrooms. The décor is a bit alternative, including the bathroom which is basically a shower at one end, a toilet at the other and a massive stainless steel bench and sink running between the two. The entrance to the hotel has an interesting horse made out of wire. Great service from the people that worked there. Oh and everything in the mini bar (no alcohol) is free!

Adelphi is a great mix of fun & friendly and warm & comfortable. The bed is one of the best I have slept in with super comfortable pillows. Free Daily goodies in the room make you feel spoiled. It's close enough to the main drag so you have good coffee and options around you, but not so close that you have to fight with noise. Wow, this place is beautiful! The downstairs entrance, the rooms and the pool area are just gorgeous! Me and my husband stayed a day in January 2016 for our 2nd anniversary. The staff were polite, the bed comfy, and the pool was a highlight. Heaps of movies for a lazy day. They also recommended heaps of fun things to do in the city. Here's what I liked: - The design! Great beautiful, unique furniture! I'm so over typical high end hotels because they all look the same. - Pool was beautiful!... Read more

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff with complimentary champagne. I was a little disappointed with the room as I thought we had booked something really special. It was nice but no real wow factor that I was expecting for the price we paid. However the location was fantastic and the dessert bar at the hotel was amazing.

The Adelphi is in the perfect spot. You literally have Melbourne's best restaurants, cafes and bars within 250m of the place, not to mention shopping, transport and open space. The staff at Adelphi are so warm and friendly from the moment you walk in and receive your welcoming drink. The rooms are cosy yet spacious, with a feeling of style and individuality, unlike your bigger chain hotels. I discovered the Adelphi a couple of years ago, and it has since become my preferred Melbourne hotel. It's fun, but most importantly it is extremely comfortable - beds are great, rooms are spacious and light filled, despite its central location, it is quiet. The welcome drink, free wifi, and free minibar are all great services. The staff are welcoming, attentive and helpful.

On the plus side the room and bathroom where large, with 'unhotel' fixtures and fittings. However, it's looking tired and the cutting edge Nineties' stainless steel bathroom and marine ply panels are rather blunt now. The signature rooftop pool is closed and the room was by far the noisiest I've had in Melbourne and I've stayed in over dozen. If the renovate, put in triple glazing and put in quieter air con it would be worth the upmarket price. The staff were lovely!

While the pics look great, the finishes are a little cheap looking once you're there - the style is there, but not so much the quality. Also, the walls are a little thin, but nothing too disruptive. For those on the lower floor, the street noise can be a little overpowering. On the otherhand, the staff were lovely and very accomodating. The breakfast was simply but very yummy and a reasonable price - unlikely every other hotel breakfast.

The Adelphi in Flinders Lane, Melbourne is a blast from my young, dynamic executive past. When it originally opened in the early 90s (yes, it was that long ago) it was THE avant garde establishment in Melbourne. As I was living in Melbourne at the time, I longed to pose in the rooftop pool that overhangs the building with a glass floor. But alas, all I could achieve was true, nouvelle cuisine such as squid ink linguine. Who'd seen or tasted such things in Australia. Skip forward a couple of de... Read more

A night off from the kids, with dinner was spoiled by the early and noisy bins collection at 0500 hrs. Pointless having a night away to just get woken up early. Whilst one might say that it's not their fault, I would argue that double glazing and a strong word to the bin men are perfectly reasonable.
