The Adelphi has been around 20-odd years and while I'd been to Ezard's restaurant in the basement, I'd never stayed till now. Our room was very comfortable: good size for a regular room, big and well-appointed bathroom, large TV, great bed, individual climate control (so you don't need to put up with whatever is deemed best for guests). The only downer is the view, which from our room (6th floor) was over a laneway and into apartments, but due to location there's no great views anywhere in the... Read more

Chris and I were ??WOW??d?? from the moment we entered the foyer. The helpful and friendly staff were there to take our bags, offer us a beverage of our choice, and a very personal, sit down check in experience. Hotel check-in??s can often be painful and time consuming ?? this was the total opposite! Thank you for such a personal touch. We were then shown to our room, where our bags were already waiting for us. The room amenities were explained to us, along with multiple goodies included in... Read more

This is just about the perfect business hotel, and leisure too. I liked absolutely everything, starting from the friendly service at reception and the lovely design of the reception desk (you'll need to go check it out to see what I mean). The rooms are large and very comfortable, and the little things make a huge difference: free wifi, free minibar, a lovely glass jar filled with free snacks and candies and super high quality bath products. The only thing not to my taste is all the stainless st... Read more

This trip was a complete surprise planned by my husband for my birthday. The hotel foyer and restaurant are stunningly decorated and the staff are a joy and couldn't be more helpful. The location is perfect, surrounded restaurants and cafes and the shopping is close enough to stagger back with arms full of purchases. Boutique hotel just how it should be. Couldn't be better ???

We booked the Adelphi Hotel because my wife and I wanted to spoil ourselves a little with a weekend away in Melbourne for our wedding anniversary. We were immediately impressed by the decor and friendly staff. The room was beautiful and little touches like a hand written card congratulating us on our special occasion were a very nice touch. Complimentary new release movies, wifi and mini-bar (snacks and non-alcoholic drinks) was also unusual I though and a nice change from most hotels who ... Read more

I have travelled to Melbourne many times over the years, and stayed at many hotels, but Adelphi is now my fave. We absolutely loved it! It is a really cool looking hotel with quirky design features, but still very comfortable. I loved the unique decor in the rooms, and the fact that there is complimentary in-house movies and mini-bar, so a chocolate treat was always at hand. If you're a foodie, you can't beat the locale as it's within walking distance to some of Melbourne's best bars and restaur... Read more

Took a 4 day shopping/dining break in Melbourne and based ourselves here. Great location in Flinders Lane; just up from City Square. Service and greeting upon arrival was first class. Special treatment given for my birthday included birthday card, message written on mirror and free dessert of choice. Room was airy and spacious with probably only gripe being the bathroom had no extractor fan so would fog up easily. Free sweets and chips and drinks Plus free movies was a great surprise as well. What a wonderful location - a hidden, humble, affordable but fabulous place to stay. A boutique-arty hotel where the whole experience is aimed to evoke the senses with the air scented like caramel and a free mini bar of lovely local sweets. The reception desk incorporated into a wire sculpture that is a connection to the historical delivery of sweets by horse and cart in old Melbourne town. We were escorted into the room and personally had all amenities and facilities explained...including encou... Read more

We loved our stay at Adelphi. The location was excellent - we had the ability to go anywhere in the city without fuss (public transport). Parking was charged daily in the carpark next door but we didn't take the car out once we arrived because we had everything at our fingertips. Lift service was out of order so they gave a discount on food. Food at restaurant was average (little bang for buck) but rooms were spacious and bathrooms were lovely (walk in, beautiful decor). They supplied endless ch... Read more

Functional, Funky and Fun! We loved this hotel, too many of the uber trendy hotels forget that they need to be warm, personal and inviting... These guys certainly keep that front and centre. I'm a sucker for the little things and the signed card by numerous staff members for out anniversary was a winner. Best bed I've had in a hotel too... Great for sleeping, but better for doing the sorts of things that two people do on their anniversary... And whenever they are in a 5 star hotel. Also, ... Read more

Beautiful arty boutique hotel, in best possible location in Melbourne (walking distance to the best stores, restaurants and bars) and outstanding service. The breakfast is not included (don't expect the usual and boring buffets), their menu is simple, but the food is delicious. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent service. The bar / reception has a great vibe on Saturday nights too. Can't wait to go back!

We live in Melbourne, but wanted a night in the city. The Adelphi was a perfect venue. The parking next door was convenient and discounted upon validation of the ticket at the hotel. The greeting was warm and informal and the offer of a complimentary drink on arrival is a nice touch. It persuaded us to linger in the foyer a little and by that time we had a chance to look at the menu of the restaurant and decided that it was a far better option than walking out on a very cold night. I really enjoyed the Adelphi Hotel during my recent stay. The rooms are huge, as are the bathrooms. The décor is a bit alternative, including the bathroom which is basically a shower at one end, a toilet at the other and a massive stainless steel bench and sink running between the two. The entrance to the hotel has an interesting horse made out of wire. Great service from the people that worked there. Oh and everything in the mini bar (no alcohol) is free!

Adelphi is a great mix of fun & friendly and warm & comfortable. The bed is one of the best I have slept in with super comfortable pillows. I ate WAAAAY too much chocolate as a result of the free mini bar but thats because all so good. I love the cruelty free bathroom products too - a big tick from me. And a final thanks for the welcome note that was scribbled on my mirror, it made me feel so welcome :)

We came for our 6 month wedding anniversary - upon arrival the reception desk styling is exceptional. We were early so they offered tea/coffee which we took up Great hot choc! Our room was ready after about a half hr wait and once we got to our room there was a jar of sweets and a card from the Adelphi staff which was so cute. Great room, good size and the free wifi, snacks and tv were well used. Loved the brand of the bathroom amenities and the large walk in bath, Truly enjoyed our mini getawa... Read more

Loved the Adelphi. Will definitely be back. And this time will be trying dessert! The rooms are a great size with some serious quirk factor. If anything, the sterile nature of the stainless steel filled bathrooms might not be to everyone's taste. Seriously....the dessert bar looks amazing too!

Stayed here in 2015 with girlfriend and her sister/brother in law. First time in Melbourne for me. Great central location, roof top pool, friendly staff, beautiful interior design, and best of all FREE CANDY! I have a but of a sweet tooth as you may be able to tell. Every room has a bowl of artisanal candy that gets refilled every morning. Without fail ours was empty every night.

Stayed for two nights at the end of a Father and Son road trip. Great location on Flinders Lane within easy walking distance of loads of great places to eat and things to do. Very warm welcome from reception and much appreciated free drink. Freebies continued to the snacks and soft drinks in the mini bar. The rooftop pool was "chilled" for repair work but we knew that in advance. It's a design classic and although showing its age a little is definitely worth a stay. Goods lift and plumbing was a... Mixed thoughts about the hotel. The staff are amazing. The lobby is small-ish but very nice. Rooms to be honest are getting a bit tired, though spacious and stylish. Free Daily goodies in the room make you feel spoiled. Some of the style elements are a mixture of form over function like the trendy standalone stainless steel sink in the bathrooms with a gap between it and the wall, perfect design to drop stuff over the edge and smash on the floor- what designer thought that was a good idea!! I think we may have found a place we can call "our regular". Reasonably priced (not cheap, like an Adina, but good value, with all mini-bar included) and very convenient. It's close enough to the main drag so you have good coffee and options around you, but not so close that you have to fight with noise. Staff were very friendly, the bed was super comfortable, the room (7th floor, King) was spacious. Free wifi and free mini-bar, good quality room service. We'll be back.

Now im a sucker for a good boutique hotel and this is one of them. Lovely decorated rooms with unique furniture and complimentary bar fridge items. Unique style bathrooms that make you feel like your in a laboratory but in a really fun and cool way. Bar staff were great when we had coctails downstairs. Unfortunately the rooftop pool was closed for renovations at the time. Great location and opposite SuperNormal for some lobster rolls ;)

My wife and I stayed just one night on a Friday for a bit of a citystay evening. I checked us in around 3pm and was greeted and taken through the check in quickly. I was shown up to our room Cosy King on level 8. It was quite a big room and really well designed, a seat for some light reading or to watch the tv with free movies. My partner and I stayed at the Adelphi over a weekend city escape. Quite a spacious room with all the modern necessities and Omnom is conveniently just downstairs! Well located near lots of shops and public transport. Beds were quite comfy, room service was excellent though portions were a tad small. Parking next door was cheap and very convenient. Opt for a higher up floor if you can as the noise from Flinders Lane can get a bit loud.

The Adelphi is very good without being absolutely brilliant. It's in a great location tucked on the shopping end of Flinders Lane, and easy walk to bars, restaurants and shops. The lobby is small - interesting but a bit cramped. Decent coffee, complicated cocktails. The staff are lovely but not very slick. Being shown to our rooms when we were happy to be left to find our own way was a bit awkward. Rooms - I had a comfy king - were large, with big bathrooms. Free mini bar with great snacks ...
