We were in room 506 we found the room very clean and comfortable with King Sized bed The bathroom a little small but clean. The new windows were double glazed and were able to open for fresh air. There were 3 new lifts fitted to the hotel The breakfast was fair.

This hotel is in a great central location, is really clean and tidy and has friendly staff. Time for an upgrade on the sheets and pillows though - Sheets were really thin and pillows were all flat and thin. Beds were pretty comfy. I think the hotel just needs a renovation as the aircon played up too. Overall not too bad.

We booked the studio room, it was just lovely. With a great view of the city, the location is GREAT. Its literally in Elizabeth street close to everything you need, 10min walk to Salamanca market, close to shopping centre, etc. Staff was very friendly and willing to help all the time. Room was clean, confortable. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again. Last but not least, free parking!.

A Couple of friends and I stayed here on the weekend, the place was good and close to everything down side was for the 2nights we stayed we got woken up at 6:30-7am by cleaners so close by the room doors you hear them breath let alone about the loud family stories they were telling each other, loud laughing and just being inconsiderate about the people in the rooms. Stayed here for three days and it was excellent with only2 minute walk to the mall in the CBD. The room was above standard although the shower in the bath can be a bit tricky and slippery for the elderly in particular. It has an excellent bar and restaurant attached with a gaming room for those wishing to indulge. The food is excellent as is the atmosphere.

We stayed in this hotel for four nights and did not experience any problems. The staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel is a little dated and could do with a major refurb, but otherwise suited us well. The room was spacious enough and reasonably quiet, given we faced the main street. The free wi-fi was good. Free car parking is available on site. A good stay.

The room smelt disgusting. The room was dusty, dirty and it had stains all over the carpet There was a grimy feel to the room. This hotel has the level of decay that matches it's ambience, the staff were some of the rudest I've encountered and couldn't care less. It would be nicer sleeping on the streets than I this hotel.

Room was big and clean although aging. Great location easy to get to anywhere in the city. Staff was really helpful in suggesting restaurants and then booking them for us. The access to a great gym as part of the stay made all the difference

We came here to catch with friends and were greeted by friendly staff who seated us at our table... I was a little shocked that we were the only ones in the restaurant?! The drinks entres and mains came out quick but we were the only ones there .. And the meals were presented well and were very filling. Everything was tasty and fresh. I have booked wrongly the hotel through Expedia. Expedia confirm with hotel that full refund can be made. But finally they charged me full payment in my credit card after my visit , I have not stayed in this hotel at all. They broke their promise. They agreed that refund can be made after Expedia claim the refund case with them later. Stayed two nights in a studio room. Comfortable bed, room and ensuite very clean and tidy. All staff polite and courteous. Deb on the front desk was particularly helpful - from dinner recommendations to street directions to organising return bus to Airport. Deb was only to happy to offer whatever assistance she could.

Stayed here 4 nights. Close handy to shops, waterfront etc. comfortable but showing age. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Car parking was a bit of a problem when our gate card continually didn't work.

It was a very loud hotel. We stayed 4 nights and were put right opposite the cleaners room and lifts. The cleaners woke us up 3 mornings in a row by talking very loudly right outside the room. They were very inconsiderate and even complaining to the desk staff it still happened the next morning. We also had to get our room key recoded twice as it wouldn't let us in our room or car park. Only stayed 2 nights but had no complaints. Our ensuite had been stylishly renovated, the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful recommending markets and eateries. Regardless we would have been prepared to put up with any inconveniences due to the location of the hotel. It is so convenient and economical for it's location. Couldn't fault.

This hotel is nothing special you get what you pay for and if your just looking for a bed and shower this is it. Our room looked old when you have a shower or a no2 there is no exhaust fans the front door is so hard to close that you have to slam it shout and it's very loud for the neighbors, breakfast is cheap and reasonable downstairs but if you want a drink down stairs it all shuts at 9.00pm and the pokie venue downstairs shuts at 10.00pm on a Friday night and dosnt open again till Monday but... 1960s style hotel showing its age but does most of the basics fine. Minor renovations in our room provided some modern facilities. Bathroom original but functional. Noise from corridor and adjacent room doors. Air conditioner was inoperative and portable heater was provided. Half the power points failed the second night. Reasonable location in the CBD but several blocks from such evening activity as Hobart has. Adequate if you get a reasonable price.

Although an older establishment that we stayed 3 nights at, we would have rated Midcity at least 4 stars if it were not for their Esus restaurant. The accommodation is well located, reasonably priced, and offers the most convenient on-site parking. Regrettably we dined "in house" at Esus. We spent two nights here and the hotel room was a bit worn out but clean. The room rate is a bit pricey (around AUD150 per night) which I'm sure you can find a better hotel with the same price in Hobart.

Recently stayed here for work with a little bit of leisure. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were modern. The only negatives I experienced were a lamp that didn't work, noisy especially in the morning (and I'm deaf and a heavy sleeper, lots of banging noises) and inconvenient room service hours. We stayed for 4 nights and paid a little more for a refurbished room on the 6th floor. The room was clean, quite and comfortable. We didn't use the restaurant facilities as we ate breakfast across the road at a brilliant little café called Raspberry Fool and some meals at the New Sydney Inn also across the road from the Hotel. Wifi service was good. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the waterfront and 25 minutes to Battery Point.

Stayed at the beginning and end of our Tasmanian odessy. Room clean and sufficient. We had one with a small bath, water plentiful and hot. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was kettle was hidden in drawer when we arrived. I understand the rooms are being renovated so should be even better! Free wifi a bit temperamental. Best thing is the free parking, which is locked up at night.

Four unanswered phone calls should have alerted me that this was not the Hilton. When I eventually got thru I asked if there had been some sort of emergency, and got the reply: 'I was busy, u gotta wait' Ok, but busy for a whole morning? "Quality" should not be a part of this hotel's name as that was precisely what the hotel lacked. While the first impression of the hotel seemed decent, time soon proved otherwise. The daily room service was a poor attempt with the room still remaining dirty. Towels were also left unchanged despite being left on the floor, which is the common hotel practice to indicate the request for new, clean towels. We stayed here 2 nights. $145.00 p/n, didn't include breakfast. Was close distance to lots. Comfortable enough, although showers 'squealed'. Not only ours as we could hear others when in use. Staff were friendly, wouldn't stay here again.
