We've been to Qualia three times in the past year, and keep coming back for good reason. It is an oasis of calm in a delightful setting at the Northern tip of the island behind big steel gates to keep the bogans out (and the bogan children). I'm not averse to children being around, but I will pay for the privilege of peace and calm. You are transported from the airport and met with champagne at the entrance, get checked in and then just switch off. Sure you can do a host of activities, whatev... Read more

A simply stunning piece of paradise on Hamilton Island. Everything about this resort is first class, from the time you first arrive and are greeted with French champagne, to the first time you open your pavilion door and see your magnificent water view, your own plunge pool, your own day bed outside, king size bed and huge bathroom, and a complementary bottle of French in an ice bucket. It's not cheap by any standards, but to a large extent you get what you pay for and we would definitely return... Read more

This is the best hotel/resort we have ever stayed at. From the moment they picked us up at the airoprt with our private car to the personal customer service person this resort is decadent. Our villa was spacious clean and so romantic. We ate all our meals at Qualia the chefs dinner with Australian wines to dinner on the beach. This resort has to be on your bucket list. We did the helicopter ride to Whitehaven Beach where the pilot placed a beautiful lunch with champagne. You have to go!!!

The quality of the resort, the service, the friendliness of the staff are fantastic. We travel a lot and always stay in high end luxury resorts. Qualia is one of the best experiences we have had, and definitely the best on our month long trip to Australia (we also stayed in Bedara, Silky Oaks lodge, Park Hyatt Sydney and One & Only Hayman). The staff was gracious and helpful with the intention of making our stay both to the resort and to Australia as pleasant as possible. Ellie found o... Read more

I had planned our recent trip to Queensland to correspond with the dry season but our stay on Hamilton Island was anything but. From the time we arrived until we left it was overcast and windy with a couple of downpours. As a result, our scheduled events had to be cancelled including the private beach drop-off, the sunset cruise, and and our helicopter ride. Despite the weather we enjoyed exploring the island with our complimentary golf cart. Had the weather been as expected I would have enj... Read more

Everything about Qualia is outstanding. We were quickly ushered out of the airport on arrival with a cold bottle of water and put in an air conditioned van. Somehow our luggage was collected and transferred to our room. A fifteen minute journey had us in the Long Pavilion with champagne in hand. Check in was seamless and we were given room keys and the keys to our golf buggy. We had decided to splurge and our windward pavilion was the height of elegance and luxury. All rooms had outstanding vie... Read more

This was our second visit to Qualia, I recommend that you spend majority of your time soaking up what Qualia has to offer! The rest of the island is fine some good dinning but lazing by the pool and having lunch at pebble beach is simply magic! My wife and I also enjoyed some quite time in the library reading the paper or magazine! Such a stunning place and the staff are are very welcoming and ever helpful! Thank you so much Qualia we love spending time with you!

Stayed five nights in a windward pavilion, when we arrived we were shown to a pavilion with a very poor view even though we had contacted management/reception on two occasions in the months before we arrived requesting a nice view , After contacting management we were moved to a much better room. The room was large with a huge bed and very nice plunge pool , unfortunately the plunge pool was a bit on the cold side, we mentioned it to reception but we were told it was heated to 28 degrees and the... We may have been the only Americans at the resort, and sometimes our views are different from others, so if I restate things that have already been said, my apologies. This was part of our "around the world" trip for our 10th anniversary. We selected the Great Barrier Reef (GBR)3-night Package. It included a leeward pavilion (beautiful!), a gourmet dinner experience in the long pavilion restaurant, and a helicopter ride to a pontoon on the GBR. Our arrival at the Island was on a JetStar flig... Read more

After visiting several luxury lodges of Australia I had the same level of expectation when visiting this award winning resort. From day one the booking process was a nightmare. It seems that it is run by a call centre and I always was talking to someone different. All I wanted to do was book a game of golf. This required 16 emails and they still stuffed it up. I warned them on multiple times that my traveling partner had changed after I made the booking 8 months ago. They assured me that this wo... Read more

We went to qualia for a special weekend, rather than an individual booking. We loved our pavilion, so roomy and with a lovely view over the water. The staff were pretty good, one or two minor issues but they were quickly and pleasantly rectified. Our first night's dinner in the Long Pavilion was OK. You can have degustation, which seems to be their preference, as the a la carte, which we had, had only two mains and was very expensive. Our second dinner, outside at Pebble Beach, was a special din... Read more

Our experience began as we entered the Hamilton Island terminal and were greeted immediately by lovely Qualia staff members... and the service began. We were whisked away to an island paradise, greeted by champagne and cocktails, and sat and enjoyed the surrounding whilst checking in... no waiting at a counter here! The amazing service continued throughout our four night stay. Free yoga in the most divine setting, incredible food, a golf buggy to travel the island with... but most impressive was... Read more

We nearly didn't make it after one abortive landing in atrocious weather sent us rocketing skyward. Second attempt we fluked a break in the clouds and down we came. Stress instantly departed as we were handed a cold towel and a drink by the Qualia representative as we entered the terminal. Then it was into their transfer vehicle for the short trip to the gates of Qualia. The reception area is vast with an infinity pool and a spectacular island view. After check-in we were shown to our personal g... Read more

This was our 3rd visit to qualia and like every other time it was bliss. We go to Hamilton island at least once a year so we know everything about it. However when you go through the "King Kong" gates to Qualia you feel like you are on your own island away from everyone else, including noise. The bliss also starts from the cool towels and water they give you at the airport to the glass of champagne as you arrive at the long pavilion. The rooms are stunning all with a unique view. Qualia is set apart from the rest of Hamilton Island as a gated set of low level pavilions set in tropical trees many of which are planted. The islands recently deceased lease holder Robert Oatley (the Australian vintner and businessman) lived for part of the year in qualia where he had one pavilion as his own. The hotel was given to his granddaughter to run some years ago. The initial view from the main pavilion you will see on arrival is repeated in every review as it is simply gorgeous. All... Read more

From the pictures it looked amazing, I got told from then lady on the phone that our accomadation in the windfall pavilion would be practically on the beach, I requested to have the few rooms that were like that, even offering to pay more, she said as it was for a special occasion she would make sure my request would be fulfilled. My wife and I stayed at the Australian owned Qualia for five nights in the last week of Oct, and were not disappointed. Usually after a week, I am ready to get going again, but not at Qualia. I wanted to stay another five nights! Staff were amazing, rooms were stunning, the food was great, the atmosphere was relaxing yet entertaining, and the self-drive golf buggy transport for the whole island was great fun! Qualia in February.... hoping to avoid bad weather: not quite but it didn't really "matter" as this place makes you feel right at home, relaxed and comfortable whatever is going on outside, even when that includes Chinese New Year crowds! or a 12 hour time-zone difference. The rooms are very high quality suits, very roomy and all have a good outlook (even the garden-oriented ones). The sea-facing ones also have private plunge pools.... probably of use to some guests seeking uber-privacy. The hot... Read more

The helicopter ride over the Great Barrier reef will remain one of our all-time travel highlights: From the pickup at the hotel hell-pad to the views over the reef were amazing! The private use of the golf buggies was a great way to get around. The food was always great, the staff always friendly and helpful. My bad points were the breakfast experience was disappointing with most meals wrongly made up, no water on the tables luke warm coffee. Firstly the service from the youthful team is top drawer - congratulations to management this level of attention to detail and balancing friendliness against obsequiousness doesn't come without a great back of house. The courteous and friendly staff of the Qualia resort represent its prime asset; in short, they are excellent and set the tone for a most enjoyable visit. The pavilions are well appointed and the whole ambience is one of luxurious relaxation. The quality of the food is high but, as others have remarked, the menu at the Pebble Beach restaurant, although good, requires regular refreshment or rotation every two days.
