This hotel is ideally sited. If you are a church goer the various denominational places of worship are close by. Five minutes will put you in a location where almost any amenity is available. We stayed for five nights and were very satisfied.

Well this isn't and easy review to write. Let's start on a positive note. Great location just behind Mitchell Street (the often rowdy main drag and probably to be avoided if you want a quieter place to eat and drink. Best go down to the waterfront for that). Rooms reasonably OK but not outstanding value although hotel prices seem to be a bit on the high side in Darwin. As previously mentioned please note that there are 2 Hilton Doiuble Trees literally next door to each other on the Esplanade wit... Read more

My partner and I stayed for a few days in between moving from WA to NT. It was a great intro to the NT, good location and very friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel is a bit outdated but its reasonably well maintained so that's okay. Our bathroom was the big let down of the experience. The shower stall leaked water all over the floor every time we use it, no matter how careful we were. the head was terrible and only directed water at the glass wall and made showering a challenge. If you are in Darwin to see a show, like we were, I totally recommend this Double Tree. Connected to the Entertainment Center just made it so easy. Drinks and a meal at the Aqua Bar before hand was great, then just short undercover walk to the Entertainment Center. The rooms are quiet and you can block out the morning sun for a sleep in. The rooms are a little dated but very clean and fresh and the staff are amazing. Wish we could stay longer but a mini break is better than no break.

The staff were lovely and wanted to make sure that our stay was a happy one. Our room was large and had all amenities that we needed. A laundry was available for our use. Reception/lobby was spacious and there were many places that we could sit in comfort with a coffee/drink to chat. The location was excellent as we walked everywhere we wanted to - Mitchell St, Wharf, Deckchair Theater etc.

Staff were great... I was welcomed with a cookie and made to feel welcome. No complaints about people!! However, the room was old and dated. It looked like something out of the 70's. I had to call reception as there were no towels for a shower. The windows were grubby and the TV was old and dated. So as I said... I'd give it another go but I hope the rooms are scheduled for an upgrade

Double Tree was a great place to stay situated on the Esplanade in the centre of Darwin. Walking distance to hotels and restaurants. The staff were helpful and available 24 hours to give assistance. They are also very aware of the many tourist attractions and how to access them. After exploring the sights in the hot weather the pool with poolside bar was very enjoyable. The Hotel has a restaurant and a gym as well as the pool.

We choose this accomodation for location, perfect & free parking. The staff were very helpful, clean & well serviced rooms. Great swimming pool & bar area. There is a lovely walking path across the road looking out over he ocean. The only down side we booked a room with 3 single beds & when we arrived we were told that don't have that bed configuration so maybe the reservation staff need to be reviewed on room types.

We are staying currently and had to extend our stay. We chose to remain in this hotel because of the people. The staff here are exeptional! So professional, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Management should be very proud of each and every one of them. Th facilities are dated and starting to break down but the people make up for it. Where to begin? We were unhappy with our experience in so many ways. We spent the nights of June 22 and June 26, 2016, at The Doubletree in Darwin before and after touring Kakadu National Park. On our June 22 arrival, we were inexplicably put into a room that we learned later was designed for disabled guests. That explained why the shower had no lip and no door so that showering caused the entire bathroom to flood. We thought that explained why the night tables were a half-meter away from the s... The location of this hotel was excellent and the rooms were spacious and clean, but the place has reached it's use-by date and it's time for the Hilton Chain to undertake a make-over. The front foyer and reception area was especially dated and very tired. Staff were attentive, but at the end of the day this is not a cheap place to stay and as such the facilities need to reflect this fact. Come on Hilton- you can do better than this!

I had room service and the beef Asian salad was tasty and the staff were polite but the rooms smell musty and like wet carpet. Not a fan!! Parking was a bit of a problem when returning late at night; not well lit and not a great area to be alone in the dark. For the price and compared to other hiltons and double tree Accom this is not the best but lose the carpet and I may change my mind.

I stayed here for two nights for a business trip, thankfully, paid for by my company. The room was very old, dirty, windows were filthy, amenities were so outdated I was surprised they still worked. Two of the 3 power points didn't work, and after paying cash for room service, the amount was still charged to my room and it took 2 months to have it reversed. I am surprised this is a Hilton hotel, needs a serious upgrade.

Stayed for work for the third time this year. We have a pretty red hot corporate deal out of season which makes this a no-brainer. To say this hotel is tired is an understatement. It is in urgent need of renovation and I am amazed that the Hilton would put its name to it. The pool was the most outstanding feature. Recommend harbour view room option. The Esplanade location is great for a relaxing atmosphere and strolling or jogging. Rooms are well appointed, plenty of fridge space, nice desk. Only negative comment was relatively poor quality remodulated TV. Room decor was slightly dated.

We couldn't fault our stay here. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. Although some would say the rooms were a little dated, we didn't have an issue with that. They were clean, comfortable and spacious enough for our needs. The amenities, pool, dining and food were great.

Staff were wonderful. Lots of working going on, so they gave me a room away from the noise. Room as clean and tidy, bed comfortable. With a nice view, with the curtains open at night to look over Darwin city.

I have stayed at a lot of Hiltons, across the entire brand and I found this a let down. Mostly because of the rooms. Old and dated, the bed was uncomfortable, the tv wasn't much good and the mini bar was empty, requiring a call to get it stocked. A cookie on check in is appreciated but in 36 degree heat, a cold bottle of water would've been appreciated much more. Wifi was fine and breakfast good, but it's such an old building. In need of a facelift!

We stayed at the doubletree hilton on a Sunday night while catching up with family on a visit from Seoul. We live out of Darwin, a 140km drive, so it was easier to stay the night in the city. From the seamless check-in (early; no charge), a real value for money upgrade to a suite, and discounted breakfast we can only say our stay was comfortable and excellent value. Breakfast buffet was extensive and replenished regularly. my only suggestion to improve it is better coffee. The truckstop coffee m... Read more

Breakfast was good, clean and comfortable, but needs to be updated in looks, the carpets were faded or stained. The bathrooms were a little old and our shower base leaked and made the bathroom floor wet. The staff were friendly and location on the waterfront is nice but not many rooms faces the water, so discuss on checkin if you are hoping for a few. We stayed here to catch the Ghan train and it was great as it had transfers included and this made the trip much smoother.

The service was great with nice friendly staff. It is well located close to restaurants and shops. On the down side the hotel is looking tired and the facilities are not what you would expect from a Hilton.

Stayed here for 2 nights having arrived from The Ghan train. First impressions were OK and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Great free wifi and free safe (ya!) The place is a little tired but for a couple of nights it was fine. We dined in the restaurant twice and the food was OK - butter chicken excellent. Getting to our room was a bit of a "route march" down a corridor the full width of the hotel and the beyond... Possibly best things about the... Read more

This hotel has great location within walking distance of town and esplanade but certainly not what you would expect of a Hilton.Rooms very tired looking in places but bed was comfortable.Room overlooked private appartments and bins. Two nights there booked by travel company who may have special deal and not the best rooms.Great swimming pool and breakfast .

The inconveniences I experienced during my stay - only one receptionist dealing with multiple issues including being expected to fix the internet connection for my computer, staff who "disappeared" during dinner service and being told no package had arrived for me when it had arrived an hour earlier - pale into insignificance compared to my departure. I'd booked a taxi to the airport the night before for 4.45am and when I went to book out the man ahead of me requested a taxi to the airport. I c... Read more

Great central location in Darwin. Average hotel for this 'class' of hotel. Easy check in and out. Car parking was a real hassle as had to use an underground car park which was not secure, away from the hotel. Other than that, the pool was nice and the rooms were clean and tidy. Had to ring room service to clean our room as they forgot to do it for some reason. So given the car parking and poor room service can only rate as average.

Convenient place to stay as I was up in Darwin for a concert at the Entertainment centre. Great service, comfy room. Quiet which I liked. Only down side is that you have to pay for internet connection. After spending $120+ for a room and wifi isn't included. Everyone loves a bit of Free Wifi. Have traveled through out the US, Malaysia and Thailand and wifi always included FREE. Time for Hilton Double Tree Esplanade to get on board. It's the little things guys that will bring back the customers.... Read more

I stayed in a loft room, it was lovely, the bed was comfortable and there was a bath to relax in. I needed to work so the desk downstairs was great. I got in late and was out quite early so didn't eat at the restaurant or use room service. The check in and check out staff were very police and helpful, and the cookie was appreciated. There was a bit of a line up when I checked in.

This is a nice place with all the amenities. We enjoyed the swimming pool and loved the restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was good as well. Rooms were clean and tidy. Staff was friendly and helpful during check-in and check-out. You wouldn't expect more for this price.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Esplanade has changed names since I used to live in Darwin (decade) but the hotel itself is still exactly the same. This is not a bad thing for myself however I can see how others wouldn't enjoy going back in time, with the rooms decor and the bathrooms needing a facelift. This is in the works though. So I look forward to coming back and seeing what changes are made. The gym needs an update but still has everything you need. However two things that have the stayed the... Read more

We only stayed here one night after returning from Kakadu but it was all luxury which is just what we needed after a week camping. The breakfast was magnificent with a great choice. The shower & the beds were awesome. The view from our room was across the bay so we got to watch the sunset from our balcony which was nice.

Have stayed at this hotel before. We had one night this time after trip from Adelaide on the Ghan. Hotel was looking a little tired, but were informed that once we left it was being closed until April 2017 for refurbishment. Got upgraded to exec room, free breakfast and free wi-fi. Thank you. Would like firmer pillows and a cheaper dryer cost in onsite laundry. Had 2 TV in suite, but the remote controls were not functioning properly which was frustrating. Continental breakfast was fine. Pool a... Read more
