So we got stuck at this place due to a computer error (online booking wasn't processed and the hostel we planned to stay at was sold out) and being that it was after regular check in times we went with what was available and close. WORST DECISION EVER. Aside from being generally unclean (days old food sitting around, stained everything, cigarette butts literally everywhere), the cold water not working (scalding hot shower in +35 weather sound nice to anyone?), the wifi not working anywhere, and... Clean room clean shower & toilet Friendly staff. Loved the off road secure parking. Budget hotel with nice pool. Staff very helpful with tourist information. Central location middle of Cairns. Recommend for budget travellers.

Stayed here for a while while in Cairns and its a great place to chill for a bit but not for a long period as there isn't much going on. There is a pool table in the courtyard and a mini bar but that's about it. Rooms were clean enough but I do think they could offer more to entice people to stay. I spent most of my time out of the hostel. It's also very steady for meeting people as you rarely bump into people because the communal area is so bare !

Sheets were poor fitting, dirty, blood stained & even mouldy. White towels with visible stains. Our floor hadn't even been swept or mopped before our arrival. Kettle was infested. Bathroom was mouldy and smoke alarms were not functional. Never again!!!!

Honestly I stayed in 4 different hostels in Cairns and this one was the best (or least worse). Came in December, the hostel was pretty empty so got to know the staff a bit and they were great. The receptionist even gave me addresses to find a job!! The place is not very clean (the cleaning being done by backpackers who don't get paid) but it's not the dirtiest hostel either. The rooms are spacious with cupboards and own bathroom, I even had a fridge in the living room but apparently it's not th... Read more

When I arrived, I was checked in by the night manager for two nights. I asked him NOT to charge my credit card and told him I would be paying by cash so not to incur an overseas transaction charge. When I went to check out, I had been charged by credit card and for three nights. The lady at reception refused to refund me any of the money. Not to mention my room was disgusting and the staff were outrageously rude.

if your a teenager out for party time and couldnt care less about anyone else at motel, this the place for you, had 10 nights of no sleep due to loud party noises all hours, and guests coming home slamming entry gate and shouting from one end of hotel to other, complained to manager on numerous occasions, made no difference. the rooms are hot no aircon in bedrooms and the one in living area sounds like jet engine when turned on , so bad couldnt hear tv. linen is a dull grey and dirty looking On... On arrival the manager was friendly and we checked into our room, spacious but filthy, mould in the bathroom and smells like a two week old tuna sandwich. we open windows, turn on the air con, spray some deodorant and suck it up. We pay for an extra night in the morning as its cheap at $89, we stay a third night pay in the morning in cash. on check out the manager says we owe him $89 and basically accuses us of theft, it was his receptionist who stole our money, provided us with no receipt and w... This hostel is not the best hostel however it is not the worst. It doesnt seem entirely clean however is lean enough for a night or two! I had a free night then a night that was discounted here, i would not have paid full price for this hostel and wouldnt have stayed here if i didnt have the vouchers. Each room had their own chairs and sink, bathroom and bunks which was nice, it was spacious. The hostel on the second and third floor reminded me of a prison because of the layout, the rooms were ... Okey, don't live here. I agree, very cheap. The night guard is drunk all the time and is very unreeponsable. Really dirty place in a really bad neighbourhood, bo friendly staff and everything is very unorganized and messy. So basically, don't live here if you want to have a nice stay in Cairns.
