I have always enjoyed staying at this property but this is the first time since it changed to being managed by Sofitel and I wasn't disappointed. Beautifully refurbished and very comfortable rooms which are a good size. Centrally located for shopping and transport. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The only disappointment is that there is no complimentary wifi in the guestrooms.

Recently a very dear friend and I had enjoyed High Tea in the Club Sofitel Lounge on the 30th floor of the hotel where we indulged (or should that be over indulged!) in a delicious culinary delight of sandwiches, scones and desserts accompanied by coffee and tea. As we had the lounge to ourselves we were free to enjoy the beautiful view and to take our time enjoying all the delights the High Tea had to offer. A pleasurable afternoon well worth it.

If you are looking for a top notch hotel in Brisbane CBD the Sofitel ticks several boxes. Located within walking distance of Queen St Mall and Southbank, close to public transport for sporting events, it's location makes enjoying Brisbane city a breeze. The rooms are well appointed with free wifi, a very comfortable bed, robes and decent bathroom amenities. Flat screen tv, foxtel and mini bar as would be expected. Parking is at a discounted rate for guests ($47 overnight).

Firstly I will say that the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect when staying in Brisbane if on work, relaxation or looking for an escape. Given its former better days of the Sheraton Brand the hotel itself is clearly trying to hold its own in the tight held 4-5 star bracket although there is room for improvement. The hotel is beautiful and brilliantly laid out, easy to navigate and with all the amenities one needs to relax and soak up the Queensland sunshine. Upon our arrival we were gr... Read more

The hotel is located directly above the Central Station of Brisbane City, like many other reviewers have mentioned, if you are taking the Airtrain to or from the airport, this will be very convenient. Othervise, I suggest booking an apartment-type hotel by the Brisbane river, you will get better views there. Also, the hotel room is not that spacious for a standard room, the facilities are somewhat old-fashioned. If you are looking for something more contemporary, I would suggest one of the newer... My husband and I flew to Brisbane and got the air train to Central station to the Sofitel. My husband had some mobility issues following an accident so we were surprised to see that access to the hotel reception area from the station was via two escalators. There was no lift apparent. Access to the front of the hotel on Turbot street from the station was also inaccessible for anyone who is unable to take stairs or escalators. After somewhat of a struggle we made it to reception. This hotel was my second option due to no IHG hotels in Brisbane right now and my verdict is that I like this hotel, the Thyme restaurant was nice. Awesome buffet service and the service and waiters were amazing. The guy who checked me in could not have been nicer, it was like I knew him for a long time. The lady who had my bags insisted that she would take it up but I won the battle. The people who work here are amazing. Rooms were good, needs a bit of makeover but it was good to stay in. It to... I'm becoming a fan of Sofitel. After an excellent experience in Macau, I've now had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel in Brisbane. There are many positive things to be said about this hotel, but great service is the thing that stands out to me. All staff that I had to deal with were incredibly courteous, friendly and helpful. We had three days at the Sofitel in a "Luxury Room",on the 21st floor. The service at all levels, check in, concierge, waiters etc was very efficient and professional. The room was comfortable, and quiet, the only downside being the shower over the bath, but unless you have physical issues this was a minor inconvenience. The Sofitel always impresses and this stay was no different. The room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was amazing. The staff and very helpful and professional, the room service was delicious. Cocktails are fab. The only downside to this property is the view over the car park that I had. Brisbane Sofitel is what you would expect of a Sofitel hotel. Great fit out, nicely furnished rooms and friendly service. The gym is quite good with plenty of space and new equipment. Considering the location there was very little noise from the street or train. It may not be the pinnacle of the Sofitel hotels, but it is still pretty good.

Also had a massage at Stephanies Spa with Angela, she is really fantastic and knows the muscle groups, loved it! Business venues have to cater for a lot more than simply providing nice room and breakfast. When you have 300 people to get in and out at the same time, as well as seamless provision group working environment, it does sort out the can do providers from the "Oh I'm sorry about that" types. Brisbane lacks decent hotels, so the Sofitel still remains one of the better options. But it is getting very dated and is in desperate need of a renovation. The rooms are drab, the furniture is old, the pool area is uninviting. The Club Lounge is quite ok. Unfortunately, this is a good example of the lower end in the inconsistency in the quality of Sofitel hotels - some are new and nice, others are just old and neglected.

However its location sets it apart from other similar hotels in that it is located above Central Station. From the exit at the station ticket barrier it is two short escalator rides to reception. There isn't any need to venture outside. The CBD, South Bank and Riverside are all easily walkable. The only complaint is the hotel's wifi policy. We were in a Club Roo... Read more

Hotel is dated and the pool, which had been a big part of why we booked there, was not heated (as billed). Things were mildly shambolic but the staff were universally lovely and very well trained, which took an "okay" experience and made it a solid "good." Pros: their restaurant Prive served up some really good French food. Cons: the parking was expensive.

For a five star hotel in a city that prides itself on its connectivity, for the Sofitel Brisbane Central not to offer complementary wi-fi in the rooms is shameful. At AUS $29 a day you can purchase this option but considering this hotel is already in the expensive luxury range I believe this is just a revenue strategy which lacks customer focus. Disappointing business model.

Overall average stay, not up to normal Sofitel standard, restaurant food very poor, my chicken was served raw, they did sort it out quickly but not what one would expect, poor choice of food also on the menu and not up to a normal high quality restaurant in Sofitel, Club lounge food kept running out in the evening and also for breakfast, Our room was much smaller then normal but clean and OK, Good location to get around

Had a wonderful stay in Sofitel Brisbane. Special mention goes to Ashley who emailed me prior to my arrival regarding my room. I appreciate the gesture and felt welcome even before my actual arrival. Evening service at the lounge was fantastic and very enjoyable. Room was great as I was given one that faces Anzac Square. Thank you for recognizing me as a Platinum member.

Arrived on early flight and left case with concierge. Notified by phone when room was ready. This was done earlier than normal check in. Staff were extremely helpful and the room was first class. Only criticism was shower over the bath. The location is excellent as you can travel by train from the airport to Central station which is directly under the hotel. Also 3 minute walk into the CBD. Loved the location and the restaurant was great. Will go to Brisbane and Sofitel again soon.

We moved to this hotel because of its location above Central Station. We had an early flight on our day of departure, but our party was such that we'd need to get a maxi-cab, which may or may not have been convenient. But what was convenient was the airport train that ran (on the Sunday every half-hour) right below our hotel, And total fare for all of us came to about half of the maxi-cab fare we took from the airport to the city. (Children up to a certain age ride free with paying adults.) So... Read more

Room was OK tight fit for 4 ppl but just one night was ok. Drinks at the bar...service was so so asked for a snacks menu never received so went down stairs to the bistro. Breakfast was nice great choices big range. We self parked for $47, all in all a nice hotel with a Paris theme. Would recommend location was excellent.

Sofitel Brisbane was great, very friendly staff, generous rooms with views. I could see To the west so caught sunset. Good choice of food and the bar is relaxed. Best of all is location... I got the train from the airport and got off at central up the escalator to the hotel, super convenient.

Great location, above Central Station, where the airport train pulls directly under. Also only a short walk to Queen St Mall. Reasonable views of ANZAC Square and surrounds, but some elements of infrastructure belie a building decades old. The rooms have been updated with contemporary furnishings, but the bathroom is not luxurious to a modern 5 star level due to old painted doors and gyprock walls, but is clean and very functional. My Son is a member of Accor and on our last visit to Brisbane shouted us lunch at Thyme. What a bountiful presentation of seafood and other delicacies. And the added bonus of 'bubbly' which was free flowing. As the Sofitel is above Central Station, I suggest you leave the car at home and catch the train in, then you can enjoy the bubbles without worrying about the d I've home. The Seafood buffet is on a Saturday, but book as there is always a queque.

Really nice hotel and a perfect fit in the Sofitel brand. Very friendly check in, really well appointed and spotlessly clean room. I had access to the club lounge which is huge and provides a good selection of food and drinks. Hotel is situated right on top of the train station but there is no noise from the tracks. The central location mean that it is walking distance to all you need to see and do in Brisbane. I would not hesitate to stay here again when I am in the area.

Bar atmosphere was good and cocktail list reasonable. Morning breakfast buffet as good as any, with GREAT coffee. Pool area and pool were a little small for the size of the hotel.
