I have always enjoyed staying at this property but this is the first time since it changed to being managed by Sofitel and I wasn't disappointed. Beautifully refurbished and very comfortable rooms which are a good size. Centrally located for shopping and transport. The staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The only disappointment is that there is no complimentary wifi in the guestrooms.

Recently a very dear friend and I had enjoyed High Tea in the Club Sofitel Lounge on the 30th floor of the hotel where we indulged (or should that be over indulged!) in a delicious culinary delight of sandwiches, scones and desserts accompanied by coffee and tea. As we had the lounge to ourselves we were free to enjoy the beautiful view and to take our time enjoying all the delights the High Tea had to offer. A pleasurable afternoon well worth it.

If you are looking for a top notch hotel in Brisbane CBD the Sofitel ticks several boxes. Located within walking distance of Queen St Mall and Southbank, close to public transport for sporting events, it's location makes enjoying Brisbane city a breeze. The rooms are well appointed with free wifi, a very comfortable bed, robes and decent bathroom amenities. Flat screen tv, foxtel and mini bar as would be expected. Parking is at a discounted rate for guests ($47 overnight).

Firstly I will say that the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect when staying in Brisbane if on work, relaxation or looking for an escape. Given its former better days of the Sheraton Brand the hotel itself is clearly trying to hold its own in the tight held 4-5 star bracket although there is room for improvement. The hotel is beautiful and brilliantly laid out, easy to navigate and with all the amenities one needs to relax and soak up the Queensland sunshine. Upon our arrival we were gr... Read more

The hotel is located directly above the Central Station of Brisbane City, like many other reviewers have mentioned, if you are taking the Airtrain to or from the airport, this will be very convenient. Othervise, I suggest booking an apartment-type hotel by the Brisbane river, you will get better views there. Also, the hotel room is not that spacious for a standard room, the facilities are somewhat old-fashioned. If you are looking for something more contemporary, I would suggest one of the newer... My husband and I flew to Brisbane and got the air train to Central station to the Sofitel. My husband had some mobility issues following an accident so we were surprised to see that access to the hotel reception area from the station was via two escalators. There was no lift apparent. Access to the front of the hotel on Turbot street from the station was also inaccessible for anyone who is unable to take stairs or escalators. After somewhat of a struggle we made it to reception. I wrote in to them few days prior to my arrival requesting for early check-in if possible (I was on a 7hr red-eye flight) and they did managed to prepare my room when I arrived around 10:30am (thanks a lot for that, really appreciate it!). The hotel is located above the Central station so it is very convenient if you are taking the airtrain from airport. The journey is around 20 mins. This hotel was my second option due to no IHG hotels in Brisbane right now and my verdict is that I like this hotel, the Thyme restaurant was nice. Awesome buffet service and the service and waiters were amazing. The guy who checked me in could not have been nicer, it was like I knew him for a long time. The lady who had my bags insisted that she would take it up but I won the battle. The people who work here are amazing. Rooms were good, needs a bit of makeover but it was good to stay in. It to... Staying at the Sofitel Brisbane Central made our first trip to Brisbane relaxing and enjoyable. The location enabled us to access the river, city, shops, attractions, botanic gardens and restaurants easily. All the staff in the hotel was friendly, professional and helpful and the club room we stayed in for the week was clean, quiet and comfortable.

I'm becoming a fan of Sofitel. After an excellent experience in Macau, I've now had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel in Brisbane. There are many positive things to be said about this hotel, but great service is the thing that stands out to me. All staff that I had to deal with were incredibly courteous, friendly and helpful. My room was big, huge bed, lots of space for stuff. The quality of the mattress is for me always one of the key things that need to be right and that was the case her... Read more

For the price, which was really expensive, I thought that it should have free WIFI access which other top hotels with rates less than these rates have. I was disappointed that I should pay an amount with only a small amount of data per 2 hours that made me feel as if I was ripped off.

We had three days at the Sofitel in a "Luxury Room",on the 21st floor. The service at all levels, check in, concierge, waiters etc was very efficient and professional. The room was comfortable, and quiet, the only downside being the shower over the bath, but unless you have physical issues this was a minor inconvenience. This was our second stay, our first being over Christmas last year. We returned as we'd enjoyed the stay so much last time. This time not so good. The room was clearly not a refurbished one. I was a bit skeptical at first, but decided to stay at the Sofitel Brisbane with my wife on our wedding night. They had previously botched our room on a stay for my birthday the year before, but I figured SURELY it couldn't happen again. The Sofitel always impresses and this stay was no different. The room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was amazing. The staff and very helpful and professional, the room service was delicious. Cocktails are fab. The only downside to this property is the view over the car park that I had. Check-in was prompt and easy. That's about where it ends, everything from here on was very 3-star, and struggled to be that at times.
