The lush green trees are cast against the mountains. The grassy plains bow towards the mountains, the gallant eastern grey kangaroos, the tough muscular male wallaroos, their dainty female partners and the truly adorable wallabies hopping about happily. Could you ever imagine a place this spectacular? Don‚??t you have this instant urge to visit such an amazing place? Well if you do, visit the Emirates One and Only, a place where your dreams and desires to seek this divine place will slowly come true‚?¶‚?¶
I‚??d like to write about my truly pleasant experience in the fabulous resort, the Emirates One and Only. I remember when my father parked the car. We got outside, seeing the tall gargantuan mountains. Even this was an amazing sight, just standing in the car park and admiring the mountains. But once the four-wheel drive came, I knew that being in the car park was just the beginning. When I got in the one of the One and Only cars, I was ready to see the resort and boy, was I excited!
My father clearly enjoyed speaking to the friendly driver in French while my family was just spellbound from the amazing view. Our driver told us everything there is to know about the wilderness. He talked about the different species of marsupials while the car drove on the rolling hills. On the journey, we even saw a brown fluffy cute wombat on the side of the road - and it was daytime! But my favourite part was probably driving across the creek. At last, after facing a magical adventure just by taking that drive, we arrived at the resort, wondering what else we might come across.
What I loved about driving from entering the gates to driving to the resort, was that everything seemed very magical and enchanting. When the front gates opened it almost felt like the real world had been left behind and we were entering a place free of worries, a place where we can be one with nature and feel relaxed and peaceful. That was one thing I loved about the beginning. I also loved the fact that all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making sure you felt like you‚??re right at home. I love that they waved to anyone they spotted and were wearing their warm comforting smiles.
I entered the astounding hotel. You won‚??t believe the shock I had! My mother told me it looked like a picture out of an Architectural Digest magazine. I couldn‚??t help but agree. To me it seemed like an enchanted lodge, with the burning hot roaring fires and the comfortable couches and chairs. The huge windows gave a magnificent view of Australia‚??s wildlife. I especially loved how they had decorated the resort for Christmas in July. The hotel was serene, the perfect place to relax.
After being informed about the hotel and having lunch, my family and I headed off to the cabin. I could barely breathe! The cabin was very luxurious and cosy. There was a lovely view of the landscape of the mountains, the grass and wildlife, and we could see a lovely cottage called ‚??1832‚??. We even had our own private pool to have a splash in. We were provided with packets of chips, chocolates, juices, not to mention a set of pencils and some paper to draw on. Oh and of course, there were the most comfortable beds I‚??ve ever slept on! As soon as my head hit the pillow, I fell fast asleep. I found the cabin absolutely amazing.
So far I‚??ve talked about the hotel and the cabin, but what am I missing‚?¶‚?¶.oh, the food! I love the food and drinks that were served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were definitely of the highest quality! I love how the staff put in so much effort to make such a scrumptious meal. My favourite drink was probably the Shirley Temple. I also loved how every day there was a design on the hot chocolate, my favourite probably being the kangaroo. The tastiest meal was probably fish and chips - without doubt, the best chips I‚??ve ever tasted! I also loved the bread that was served at lunch. Basically, what I‚??m trying to say is that the food was delectable!
I also loved how the staff put in all their effort to make the guests happy. From making the beds to constantly trying to make the food even better, the staff must be awfully tired by the end of the day, yet they still have a huge smile on their faces.
My family took part in many activities such as horse riding, bike riding, and the night and day tour. First I‚??ll talk about horse riding. My father, sister and I decided to go horse riding but my mum decided to stay behind for the first few minutes to take pictures. I found horse riding an excellent experience! I definitely want to try it again. My father‚??s horse was Bandit who was 12 years old. My sister‚??s horse was Joker who was 8 years old. My horse was Scooter who was 11 years old. I loved horse riding because we could try something new and the view was absolutely splendid. The feeling of what it‚??s like to be on a horse, hearing the ‚??clip clop‚?? of their feet, is truly wonderful.
Now I‚??m going to talk about bike riding. It was a pleasant experience, almost as good as horse riding. To be honest, I haven‚??t ridden much on bikes, so going on the bike trail was a new and wonderful experience for me. I went bike riding twice, once in the afternoon and once in the morning. I loved seeing the view, especially in the morning, when the grass was covered with icy frost and the fog drifted around the mountains. It was amazing to feel the wind rushing past me as I rode my bike and I‚??m proud that I‚??m starting to get the hang of riding one.
Then we went on the tours of Australia‚??s wildlife. My family went on two tours, the Night Safari and the Sundowner tour. We went on the night tour first. Our task for the night tour was to spot animals at night-time with the torches provided. We spotted plenty of wombats, kangaroos, wallaroos, wallabies and I even saw a rabbit and a wild cat. It was truly awesome to see a baby and mother wombat together! We had a break about halfway to search for the platypus where we enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate with biscuits and marshmallows.
Then we went on the Sundowner tour where we were told lots and lots of information about the plants and animals. Again we stopped about halfway, on the Panorama Deck. The sunset colours were striped across the sky. It was beautiful! The wildlife made the sight even more pretty. We had a few refreshing juices and another picnic. This was one of my favourite parts but my absolute favourite part of the sundown tour - and one of my favourite parts of my whole experience in the Emirates One and Only - was learning about and seeing the Wollemi Pine. I thought there was a fascinating story behind the tree and I was interested in the Emirates One and Only‚??s conservation acts towards the plants. Learning about the Wollemi Pine has inspired me to make a plaque on it for school.
I remember having to leave this place. I was truly happy after experiencing a new adventure but super sad to know that I‚??d have to say goodbye to the Emirates One and Only, a place that is truly spectacular, a place that not even your imagination can take you to. These were my thoughts as I stood in the car park admiring the mountains once again. It was time to leave, but I left for home with much more knowledge and understanding of Australia‚??s wildlife. I also left home with a whole new side of my imagination alight with new and exciting thoughts and ideas.
I found the place peaceful and relaxing, certainly the perfect place for a holiday. I loved the friendliness of the staff and how kind they were to my family. Oh, the effort that the staff put in to make my family have good time! I would like to say thank you to them after all they‚??ve done. The activities that I took part in, the truly splendid view of the mountains and Australia‚??s wildlife - I loved them all. The Emirates One and Only, I must say, is the best experience I‚??ve ever had, a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank you Emirates One and Only! I hope we meet again one day.
