We enjoyed our stay at Rydges South Park. The breakfast is excellent. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with our prepaid breakfasts which had to be paid for and sorted out later with our travel agent. Would stay there again. Adelaide people were so friendly and helpful, loved Adelaide and surrounds.

The night shift manager Mat was pleasant & professional. We received an upgrade with the Rydge's card. Hotel is located close to the city without the noise. Views over the parklands were relaxing. Our room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was included and had an adequate selection. Would definitely stay there again.

Having been spoiled at Rydges Melbourne previously, when the time came to plan for my trip to Adelaide, we did not hesitate to book Rydges South Park. Having stayed for 5 nights though, whilst there is some semblance of the Rydges brand, this one pales in comparison to its Melbourne counterpart. Its location is not in the CBD, although one could still take a 15 to 20 minute walk to get there. Service whilst efficient, is rather impersonal...rooms are clean, but rather unremarkable (my wife... Read more

This hotel needs an upgrade. We paid over $220 and this was not worth it!! Hotels in the CBD were better and much better. We chose this place out of convenience but it really wasn't that great. The place is 90s decor and mouldy in the bathroom. They most certainly should not be charging the prices that they did for us.

The beds are amazingly comfortable, and the rooms are always clean and spotless. The service staff in the hotel are very friendly and talented; though the staff in the restaurant are always absolutely amazing. Great restaurant as well as a great range of room service. Breakfast in room is not worth it, just go down stairs. Good parking, and the pool is great.

Stayed 1 night in this hotel on business. Location was close to my meetings on the south side of the city. Rooms were OK, a little dated, but acceptable. Was told if wanted to dine in the restaurant would have to book, so booked when checking in. Table would be ready at 8:30. Arrived at 8:30 and restaurant was less than half full (so why did I have to book). When I told them I had booked they didn't have a booking. Sat me down, service very slow to non-existent and food was OK. Good enou... Read more

I stayed in a twin room for one night for a conference and was disappointed. The room was quite dated, especially the bathroom which was very small. The room was on the 6th floor and had a small balcony with quite a nice view over the city and the hills in the background. The dinner we had in the function room as part of the conference was very good with good food and very good service. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing, with none of the tables in the small breakfast area cleared (even tho... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2016. The location is a little out of town. The hotel provides a shuttle to the CBD, I didn't use it. The tram is stop is a fair walk, I like the trams and are pensioner friendly. The hotel is very clean, comfortable rooms with TV, AC etc, a great view to the CBD.. The breakfast was excellent. The only disappointment was the slow delivery of my.steak dinner on the 6th floor, nearly 30 minutes to arrive Overall the staff were friendly and obliging..

We looked forward to our trip to Adelaide but unfortunately it was a let down when compared to the Melbourne stay at Rydges. One particular staff member was asked on multiple occasions regarding our late check out and did not do as he said he would. The room itself was quite nice with a few expected items not there, including a clock and no dust pan when we wanted to clean up something we dropped. Friday night dined in the panoramic restaurant, jazz band, dancing and top food at affordable prices Walked to Rundle mall, if you are not into walking or cool weather this could seem to be a bit of a hike or you can catch the tram which is 2 blocks away and is free to the mall or going in the other direction will take you to Glenelg Beach

A week away working in Adelaide at the the show grounds Rydges was the closest by far, just a 15 min walk. Or take The free courtesy bus in the morning, driver David was fantastic couldn't do enough for you! Full English breakfast plus extras for just $20 was a bargain. The option to go green is an exceptional concept, well played! Rooms are large and very clean. All staff were helpful and very friendly. Only criticism ( very minor) would be the pool and gym not opening till 7:30 am.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly; however there was a mix up with my booking due to my registering as a member client. I had to check the bill and realised I was over charged and wasn't getting the 20% discount advertised. Where I was told to push harder on the door handle, new room key received, back up to room. The door opened easily, obviously the room h... Read more

A little dissapointed with the over all quality of this hotel. In room dining was disappointing, chips were cold and had to send some replacements with a complementary beer to say sorry. Also the hotel used to have access to Foxtel which had recently been cancelled.

Two single nights book-ended a 5-day business trip in SA. Check in and out was fast, friendly and helpful. The room each night was lovely. Very clean and spacious with a beautifully comfy bed and great tv. The bathroom was really nice and the shower was fantastic. Tried the bar on the 6th floor and the view of Adelaide was great. Not sure of proximity to attractions or shopping as came from/to airport both nights - only 15-20 minute cab ride from airport even in peak hour which sure beats Sydney... Read more

The Rydges is in good location for visiting Adelaide and getting around. It has parking at a reasonable price which a lot of hotels don't. The hotel is tired looking on the insides so you will have the occasional cracked tile, scratches, the carpet not looking as vacuumed as well as it should but it isn't too bad when the hotel comes with a small gym and pool. These amenities are what give it it's four star rating because without those he would only be 'just' a three star. The rooms and tire... Read more

Staying during the peak Tour Down Under time of the year proved again to be an ideal location. It is a bicycle aware and friendly hotel with easy access to riding opportunities along the Torrens or the main roads to Glenelg it is a great place to stay. Breakfast is consistently good. Pool on the roof is relaxing as is the small but adequate gym. The rooms on the upper floors offer spectacular evening views across to the Hills. The small balconies provide a pleasant experience morning and night. ... Read more

We stayed between two rooms as there were 9 of us traveling. The hotel is one of the noisiest hotels I've ever stayed in as you can hear the lifts going up and down all night long. You could hear the plumbing of other rooms above you - toilet and shower use. The staff, sadly, weren't very helpful or switched on. Checking in the staff on reception had trouble with two rooms for nine people under two family names. This problem again happened at breakfast with another staff member. The restauran... Read more

We selected this motel for our stay as it was situated out of the city centre and thought it would be a quieter option. We booked our rooms with booking. Com a month or so in advance. On arrival after booking in to our allotted rooms we found we had been provided with one room that overlooked the busy highway and the other more expensive spa room was located near the lift. We were all disappointed with the room situation and due to the motel being fully booked they were unable to change our ... Read more

Booked this hotel because of the good parking. Hotel did not disappoint. Great room, facing main road, but had balcony, didn't hear road noise, was on second floor. Had dinner in the restaurant, amazing, great menu, good service and wine selection. View from the 6th floor over the park and city and night is awesome.e will stay here on our return trip thru. Good pricing especially if you join club.

Genuinely friendly staff; from reception to concierge but venue is a bit tired and coild use a soft refurb. e.g. lifts slow, smelt of stale food albeit in fairness my bathroom was nicely modernized. also ground floor breakfast cafe needs better table layout/ floor planning as it isn't clear where the walkways are. I'd definitely stay here again given the staff's real hospitality + the venue's great lo.c

We stayed in 114. Spa room, $329 with breakfast. We couldn't get anything cheaper as I left it til the day before to book. It was ok, but expensive for the price compared with other places we've stayed in Adelaide. We had dinner in the Skyline restaurant and it was absolutely beautiful. Not cheap, at $154 for 2 courses with a bottle of wine, but worth it. We had a reasonably ordinary breakfast (compared with the Stamford Glenelg). We went back to collect our bags and had a nice reasonably priced... Read more

Fantastic Location, beautifully upgraded room & a great last minute deal. Only problem we encountered was at midnight when we noticed the A/C was leaking water over the bed, soaked pillow & annoying drip. Staff offered to look for another room but after a long day's travel & young boys already asleep, was just too much bother. Very pleasant brief stay otherwise.

I was on a 2 day business trip - this was a return visit to Rydges Adelaide to me and it did not disappoint. Great food, lovely room and friendly / competent staff. The car park can get short of spaces which is annoying, and the ironing board in my room was broken. That said, on my next trip to Adelaide I will be staying at Rydges.

Location tick, Service tick, great food tick, all in all the whole experience was great. Just a few things, and they are minor, but they would have enhanced, and as I am a Mother, I noticed it all the more, (dont think my husband noticed this at all) it would have been great, in the room, to have a teatowel and dish cloth. This way you could dry your cup to use it again, and to wipe up any spillage from making yourself a drink. Toilet brush, need I say any more?? But these are minor things, will... Read more

We stayed one night and attended a family function elsewhere, so we didn't get to rate the bar, restaurant, etc. The service at reception, room, and everything we encountered were great. Room overlooked busy the West Terrace / Anzac Avenue junction but traffic noise was barely noticeable from the third floor. A special thanks to reception for making our room available even though we turned up well before the 2pm check-in time.

Room was nice- Bed was comfortable, the balcony could've had a small table and chairs to sit out there. The noisy elevator kept me awake because we could hear it constantly, which we found annoying. It was a windy night and the door whistled loudly. Was still a pleasant stay minus a sleepless night. The spa was great!

I'm loyal to the Rydges group and usually find them great. Prices are pretty decent. The rooms were pretty good. Bathroom was pretty decent with size. A big plus was the balcony, only downfall was that it's a shared balcony. Beds are super comfy, which is what I expect in Rydges hotels. Staff were not bad. One agent was very accommodating and was more than happy to assist with anything I needed - you could see it wasn't any trouble at all. Another agent that I had dealings with wasn't overly a... We have stayed at Rydges a few times to run our workshops. The location is just outside the main CBD area so our workshop participants like it as parking is easy and free. Located just outside the CBD, it's a bit run down but adequate. The bar area is nice to have a drink overlooking the CBD, and dinner was very enjoyable with great food and great staff. The gym is very, very small, but I guess at least it has one. Breakfast is also nice, and my room was overlooking the park and had a small balcony which allows some fresh air. In the end , the price is very good so I can put up with any misgivings.

Room and bathroom were very nice. Bed and pillows excellent. Restaurants are terrific. First night I ate alone at Skyline, as my husband was arriving the next day. Rooms were average with fantastic recently refurbished bathrooms. The location however is pretty poor, fine if you need to be in that area but it's a decent walk for any kind of shopping or decent cafes. There isn't even a convenience store nearby. The main negative however was reception staff. Every single person we dealt with was unbelievably slow with next to no personality. It genuinely seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. Good, efficient friendly service at front desk and check in, very clean rooms and bathrooms. Free Wifi, but very slow. If you need to do work that requires the being online, it will be very frustrating. 10 minute walk to Gouger street restaurants and china town, which is a welcome stroll back after eating amazing food. My room faced the west and south terrace junction and was a bit noisy from traffic. Had a great sunset though.

The free WiFi is pretty slow, so don't rely on it if you need to do serious work. I ended up tethering my phone instead because it was way too slow. Only other downside is that the location isn't the best if you need to visit other parts of the city.
