We enjoyed our stay at Rydges South Park. The breakfast is excellent. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. We did have a problem with our prepaid breakfasts which had to be paid for and sorted out later with our travel agent. Would stay there again. Adelaide people were so friendly and helpful, loved Adelaide and surrounds.

level 6 - so noisy with traffic. Not sure if the other rooms would be better. Staff were amazing, friendly, nice. Bed was very soft, not good if you have a bad back. Nice room and the views - very nice

The night shift manager Mat was pleasant & professional. We received an upgrade with the Rydge's card. Hotel is located close to the city without the noise. Views over the parklands were relaxing. Our room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was included and had an adequate selection. Would definitely stay there again.

Having been spoiled at Rydges Melbourne previously, when the time came to plan for my trip to Adelaide, we did not hesitate to book Rydges South Park. Having stayed for 5 nights though, whilst there is some semblance of the Rydges brand, this one pales in comparison to its Melbourne counterpart. Its location is not in the CBD, although one could still take a 15 to 20 minute walk to get there. Service whilst efficient, is rather impersonal...rooms are clean, but rather unremarkable (my wife... Read more

This hotel needs an upgrade. We paid over $220 and this was not worth it!! Hotels in the CBD were better and much better. We chose this place out of convenience but it really wasn't that great. The place is 90s decor and mouldy in the bathroom. They most certainly should not be charging the prices that they did for us.

The beds are amazingly comfortable, and the rooms are always clean and spotless. The service staff in the hotel are very friendly and talented; though the staff in the restaurant are always absolutely amazing. Great restaurant as well as a great range of room service. Breakfast in room is not worth it, just go down stairs. Good parking, and the pool is great.

Stayed 1 night in this hotel on business. Location was close to my meetings on the south side of the city. Rooms were OK, a little dated, but acceptable. Was told if wanted to dine in the restaurant would have to book, so booked when checking in. Table would be ready at 8:30. Arrived at 8:30 and restaurant was less than half full (so why did I have to book). When I told them I had booked they didn't have a booking. Sat me down, service very slow to non-existent and food was OK. Good enou... Read more

I stayed in a twin room for one night for a conference and was disappointed. The room was quite dated, especially the bathroom which was very small. The room was on the 6th floor and had a small balcony with quite a nice view over the city and the hills in the background. The dinner we had in the function room as part of the conference was very good with good food and very good service. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing, with none of the tables in the small breakfast area cleared (even tho... Read more

Has secure parking off the street. Room was amazing so comfortable i wanted to move in and never leave. Bathroom was eye opening very well designed. Easy check out apart from i didnt want to leave. Check in was fine for us as 2 couples arriving early. One room ready and the other still being made up but friendly and able to leave luggage until second room was ready while we walked to the tram stop for our first visit to Glenelg. Reception staff happy to give directions. Room was fine with no problems and adequate view towards the city over suburban buildings. Other side of hotel facing south would have had good parkland views and western view was over Adelaide Cemetery. Great restaurant up... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2016. The location is a little out of town. The hotel provides a shuttle to the CBD, I didn't use it. The tram is stop is a fair walk, I like the trams and are pensioner friendly. The hotel is very clean, comfortable rooms with TV, AC etc, a great view to the CBD.. The breakfast was excellent. The only disappointment was the slow delivery of my.steak dinner on the 6th floor, nearly 30 minutes to arrive Overall the staff were friendly and obliging..

We looked forward to our trip to Adelaide but unfortunately it was a let down when compared to the Melbourne stay at Rydges. One particular staff member was asked on multiple occasions regarding our late check out and did not do as he said he would. The room itself was quite nice with a few expected items not there, including a clock and no dust pan when we wanted to clean up something we dropped. The TV reception was also average, watching the football the signal dropped in and out a few time. ... Read more

Had a quick one night stay when passing through Adelaide. Found the check-in process easy. Had a nice room on level 5 overlooking West Terrace. Room was on the small-ish size but well equipped with all the usual Rydges fanfare. The bed did not feel like one of the Dream Beds....in fact it felt quite hard! Bathroom is of a good size and in particular it was nice to have a heat lamp! Carparking ($5) is available however I dare say when hotel is running at high occupancy that one may struggle to g... the room was clean and had a tiny balcony that I didn't use as it was winter. There wasn't a tub, but the shower was good. They offered a $10 food credit if you declined to have your room cleaned which was a nice gesture. You can get free wifi if you sign up for their rewards program.

Stayed on the current weekend deal excellent value, definitely the best Rydges Hotels Ive stayed in. Friday night dined in the panoramic restaurant, jazz band, dancing and top food at affordable prices Walked to Rundle mall, if you are not into walking or cool weather this could seem to be a bit of a hike or you can catch the tram which is 2 blocks away and is free to the mall or going in the other direction will take you to Glenelg Beach

A week away working in Adelaide at the the show grounds Rydges was the closest by far, just a 15 min walk. Or take The free courtesy bus in the morning, driver David was fantastic couldn't do enough for you! Full English breakfast plus extras for just $20 was a bargain. The option to go green is an exceptional concept, well played! Rooms are large and very clean. All staff were helpful and very friendly. Only criticism ( very minor) would be the pool and gym not opening till 7:30 am.

It's been a while - maybe 18 months - since my last visit, and there have been some key improvements that will ensure my loyalty. GHA Discovery status recognised. Cute welcome gift and 'welcome back' card. Room in good trim. Good bed. Flawless housekeeping. Lovely view over the parklands to the hills. A very aggressively priced Weekender deal. Now... the restaurant... oh... the restaurant... This is surprisingly up-scale in terms of menu, quality of presentation and table staff. The ... Read more

After checking in, we noticed a smoker on the shared balcony. The staff were fast to correct the situation, moved us to another room, which pleased us. It would be great for the hotel to make balconies smoke free also, so balcony doors can be opened without copping the fumes. other than that it was a great comfortable hotel, 10 minute walk to the free tram from South Terrace into the city centre, 20 minute walk to Rundle Mall. Excellent spacious room. Bed was particularly comfortable and I thought the curtains were of good quality ensuring early light did not wake me. I got the heating spot on so slept well. Breakfast was very good although I little pricey considering the assortment. The chef however was very obliging and cooks pretty good poached eggs. Checkin and checkout ran smoothly so no issues there. Overall a convenient location doing a fine job.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly; however there was a mix up with my booking due to my registering as a member client. I had to check the bill and realised I was over charged and wasn't getting the 20% discount advertised. The meal in the restaurant was excellent and I enjoyed sipping my complimentary wine watching the rain falling over Adelaide. It was a short visit but I was happy with the room and the location, although it was not in walking distance to the CBD.

Stayed one night on our way to the Ghan. Let me start by saying that we discovered that there is more than one South Terrace in the Adelaide area. I put the wrong one in my GPS and we ended up looking for our hotel in Plympton Park, about 25 kms from where we were supposed to be. Finally found the correct South Terrace. Booked in. Had to pay an extra $5 to use the carpark. Got into the carpark only to find it was full. Had to park out on South Terrace and drag our bags (6 in all) across South Te... Read more

I recommend this place for realistic people, it is not ultra modern but in great order. Cafe down stairs also. I booked this online, I have stayed here before. The Hotel's position on the corner of South and West Terrace in the CBD is excellent with views across the south Parklands to the Adelaide Hills, if you have a room on that side of the Hotel otherwise you have a view of the Adelaide CBD. My first advise to would be travellers staying at any Rydges Hotel and booking online is "read all the terms and conditions carefully". There are traps for the unwary traveller. We booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Great Southern Rail Terminal. Arrived at about 6.30pm because The Overland pulled in late. Finding a hotel in the CBD when you're driving to Adelaide is always a challenge. Parking costs can add significantly to one's stay. Not so at Rydges South Park: a mere $5 per night. And the cost of rooms is also very reasonable. So we gave it a try: a three night stay, in a slightly cheaper, city-view room. It was surprisingly quiet, and our slumbers undisturbed. The room was comfortable, the bathroom clean and functional, the staff welcoming and helpful, and parking facilities more than satisf... Read more
