We stayed here for 4nights in April. The hotel provides comfortable and spacious rooms in a central location close to shops, restaurants and lots of places of interest at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Food was of a high standard in the restaurant and there was a 20% discount on the dinner menu for residents.

Beautiful room with super comfortable bed. I have stayed in the Intercontinental twice and it is really lovely. The bathroom is great, in-room toiletries are gorgeous and the shower absolutely fab. Robes and slippers also provided. Breakfast is on from 6-11am on Sunday and we got a table quickly but had to ask for coffees twice. When we went up to get hot food someone cleared the table so they're efficient at that :) lots of choice for breakfast too. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended

We enjoyed our stay which was enriched by the club lounge. The breakfast was lovely. A nice selection. The afternoon tea was equally good. The dinner options were an international mix of cultural delights. The wine....so nice. A large selection of spirits too. Our suite was nice but in need of a renovation. The hotel is conveniently located near sports ovals, shopping and the casino. We'll be back.

Stayed here two nights during a conference. While the facility is a bit dated, it is very clean and well maintained. However the real attraction is the outstanding guest service from the moment you get out of the taxi till check out. Breakfast is also one of the better buffets I've seen in my travels domestically.

Had a pleasant and nice High Tea in the Lounge. View not as nice as the Grand in Glenelg. But the $39 High Tea was more than enough and was enjoyable to eat. Service was good and the food was freshly made and overall we enjoyed our High Tea. Worth a treat if your ever in the City around the Intercontinental. P&J.

You only live once, and so that is why I decided to spoil my lovely grandmother and bring her to the Intercontinental Adelaide to stay in the 'Presidential Suite'; that famed room on Level 24 where some of the biggest celebrities to visit Adelaide have stayed. So my Nan didn't have to walk too far, we used the Porte-cochère to drop off our car. It's $30 per night, which when used properly, is actually pretty good value. Remember, that's the cost for the night, not how often you collect or drop... Read more

The heading of this review is slightly ironic. The 3 young men that attempted to take control of my small suitcase before I'd even got to reception were doing their job, but it was an unnecessary gesture by the time I'd said no to the 3rd person, I was irritated which is not the way to start the experience of a new hotel. When neither the desk light or the floor light worked, the service was attentive - but the reason was that both appliances were attached to the wrong plug. An odd piece of mis... Read more

It really deserves a 3.5 as it isn't bad at all, just a little tired and due for a renovation. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff helpful. If you are going to an event at the Oval this is a great hotel to be stationed at. Also you can catch the tram to Gleneg right outside the front door and only a short walk to the mall, cafe's and restaurants.

Modern, central hotel on the banks of the river beside the Theatre centre and close to all the shops and attractions. Rooms are spacious and well decorated, and the breakfast is fabulous. Two small criticisms - the doors shutting are sometimes noisy so you can hear other guests leaving their rooms, and on one day the breakfast room was so full we had to queue for the tables and it took one guest an hour to get a pot of tea. This was an unusual occurrence but if the hotel is going to be full the... Read more

The Intercontinental Adelaide has been a favourite place to lay my head down for over twenty years. The location is perfect for everything, shopping - restaurants - sports and culture. But unfortunately the old girl is in need of a revamp, this will be sped along hopefully with Sofitel and Sheraton soon to make an appearance in the city of churches. I will continue to use the Intercontinental because of the position to Adelaide Oval, hopefully the grand lady gets some tender love and care.

A bit less in comparison to the five star hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, but this is neither of those cities. So I guess it is ok, and possibly the best that Adelaide has to offer. The rooms are a bit outdated, the carpets need to be changed and the bathroom is very small. The walls are paper thin and I was woken up by construction work at the nearby convention centre . The biggest flaw, however, is that the room lacks a power point beside the bed. This makes it difficult for people that n... Read more

We stayed in a club or executive room on the 23rd floor. Nice room but a bit crowded near the bathroom as the double bathroom doors interfered with the bi-fold wardrobe doors which made entry to either inconvenient at times. Well appointed, good size bathroom, only criticism would be that there was collected dust & fluff near the exhaust fan inlet and around the top of the mirror and no hand held shower. The room shape is octagonal and spacious. Very comfortable bed, TV could be better position... Read more

The positive, the driveway staff were really good. Using guest names and remembering detail from one day to the next. Reception, nothing to say, efficient and satisfactory. The negatives...we booked a King Room with River view; which was fine after I cleaned the unbelievably dirty window, other than that the room was fine, quite dated, reflected in the painted old cupboards and so on, but what really made me feel unhappy was the grunge feeling of all the walkways, so easy to paint and so scuffe... The rooms are very dated and if anything well below the expectation one would expect at this level of hotel. The level of service was excellent right through the hotel, friendly, considerate and thoughtful. Booked the hotel online and was asked the usual question it terms of special request, such as non-smoking, high floor etc. Next question was whether I had any food allergies, which I answered yes, being on a Gluten Free diet. I wondered at the time why they would ask but did not give it further thought. Today I checked in, to find that the entire mini bar, with multiple and varied snacks, was all Gluten Free. What an extraordinary thing to do. Well done to the management.

Just spent 4 days in Adelaide staying at the InterContinental which had nice rooms, very good beds, friendly staff and is close to everything. Two little side streets had great Cafe's and bars. Plenty of restaurants nearby. A short walk to the Central Market, Adelaide oval, museum and botanic gardens. Really enjoyed my stay.

I had a very pleasant stay in the hotel. The staffs were very efficient very friendly and very helpful. The quality of services was flawless, which more than made up for the size and set up of the room, which was a bit smaller, and feel smaller than other hotels.
