Booked on line for 3 nights, older hotel well presented with good size rooms. The location was central to everything, staff were very friendly and helpful. Just be aware it does not have 24hr room service, but there are plenty of places to eat of shop within 100m of the hotel. We will be staying here again

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Staff were pleasant but gave scant information re services. The food was outdated and dusty. The lounge was uncomfortable and the bedroom curtains full of dust. The bathroom has a step over the bath into the shower and this is a real falls hazard. There is no natural light in the suite.

We were upgraded to a spa room but to be honest I would rather of had more space in the room and didn't use the spa for one night. Room was basic but clean and well serviced. Not a hotel for views but very central. Breakfast was not included so we ate in the cafe within the hotel. They were short staffed and the meal took a long time to come. For a hotel that was in the middle of the city is was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and polite.

The hotel is in a great location and all around are great eateries and malls for the shopping fiends. I had a delightful day at the zoo. Although there was a fire scare twice while I was there. Not able to get in and then not able to leave until the fire department gave the OK. I also stopped by the Art Gallery on the University grounds. Wonderful exhibition. The city is full of activities that are easily accessed from the hotel. Nice place for a week end getaway with or sans children.

We've just had a very enjoyable weekend staying at the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Currie Street Adelaide. The hotel is very well located and nice and quiet. While a little dated compared to the glass and chrome examples, it really is very comfortable. We had an Executive Room so we had a medium sized entrance/sitting room inside the front door. This meant that the bedroom, which was very roomy, was off to the side and separated from the rest of the suite by a door - making it very private. The su... Read more

The room and ensuite was lovely - decorated in the period that you would expected. Huge windows and such a comfortable room. Staff were fantastic and the service was great. Vicky's bistro was lovely and the food was great. So close to everything. I wouldn't hire a car next time as parking is offsite but it's a great spot.

This is a centrally located, moderately priced hotel, with moderate services. The rooms are smallish, offer most amenities and are quite tired. The air cond kept me awake with a recurring decompression sound, which made for a restless nights sleep. Wifi in the room was not operative, or only for a limited time followed by a charge, disappointing in 2016. The gym was reasonable, and the pool area was clean and well serviced. I did not use the cafe restaurant area, however, the smell ... Read more

The rooms are tired but clean. Interesting situation with the hot water - every time we wanted to have a shower we had to ring down to reception! Apparently they turn on a few taps down there and ten minutes later or so, the hot water is back on. Maybe avoid if you like to shower at your leisure!

Well first of all i Booked via calling the hotel as i had a question about the room rate. i found that it was cheaper to book via the hotel. the Reception desk clerk was so helpful. The room was very privet as the windows faced a wall. I only stayed the one night. but found the bed was comfortable for me but my husband woke up with a sore neck the next morning. Overall staff are great rooms are decent but very dated

A good location and just a block from Rundle Mall and tram to Glenelg. Room very clean and functional. Room on fourth floor very quiet. Room service is from the Cafe on the ground floor with $5 extra for Room Service delivery.

We spent five nights at Grand Chancellor on Currie whilst in town for a conference. Let's get the disappointments out of the way first ... decor is nothing special. Air conditioning was not exactly effective. Tap inconveniently dripped from approx 4am through to 9am every morning. And now for the parts we did appreciate. Location, location, location. In a very rainy week we got around everywhere on foot and stayed mostly dry because nowhere was far away. The staff. Unobtrusive but helpful when... Read more

My daughter & I stayed at the Grand Chancellor last night in a twin room. The room was beautiful with two queen beds that were so comfy, nice bathroom with fantastic big soft towels, The location is amazing close to restaurants, central markets and the tram. We are Adelaide locals but I would highly recommend this hotel to travellers to Adelaide. 10 out of 10 for value for money. We will be back.

This is an older style hotel, furnishings could do with an update, but the rooms are of a decent size and very clean. The location is excellent, very central to eateries and other attractions. The air con/heating in my room was very noisy and I found it difficult to watch t.v as it was so loud.I was in room 511 the executive room, the hotel should have a look at this as it can be very annoying. The service was great. I would stay here again and would reccommend.

My partner and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. The room was very small and the furniture could do with an update. Also, the air conditioner was really noisy. On the plus side though it was very clean and the location was brilliant. If I was to go back I would be more particular about the room I booked.

I spent 5 nights in this hotel during a business trip in the middle of Adelaide winter. The bed was a bit soft (for me), but the room was great, clean, good bathroom. The restaurant in the same building provides a great breakfast. All very friendly staff. The location for me was within walking distance from where I wanted to go. Good restaurants in the area, good connection to airport, within walking distance of river, sports oval, university.

My husband and I spent one night at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Currie Street. It was perfect for our needs. Really good location for city event. Breakfast was a treat and the staff very helpful. Yes the decor is a bit dated, but our room was very clean, spacious and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom very clean and not problems with the water. Would stay again.

I brought my 13 year old daughter to Adelaide for her birthday and we stayed here for four nights. Very impressed with welcome from staff, lovely and helpful. Great in house cafe/dining with great coffee. Room was great - clean, with comfiest beds EVER! Carpets, wallpaper etc a little outdated, could do with a refresh. Bathroom nice and clean but shower/bath needs an update. The location was fantastic - a block from Rundle Mall and close to everything Adelaide had to offer. Would recommend for... Read more

Our greeting at reception was warm and welcoming enough, but things went rapidly down from there. Our first clue things may not be the best was spotting the dirty plates piled up outside the door, prompting us to knock and open carefully in case the previous occupants were still there. I checked the hotel pool and spa area while my partner prepared the room spa for us to relax in. The pool was small, but unlike most places had a nice deep end, while the spa could hold a few, but was one where ... Read more

The accommodation was average. The reception area is right next door to the restaurant/bar which made it feel part of that area. The side street outside the front entrance is narrow and therefore difficult to turn a car around.

My Husband and I came to the City for a night away and chose the Grand Chancellor on Curry due to the position and the special offer they had on. We stayed in a King Spa suit on level 6. Pros: -We were greeted politely and check in went smoothly. Checkout went smoothly but the gentleman lacked that warm customer service we received on check in. -Breakfast staff were lovely and very polite. Food was enjoyable. -Bar area was nice and general ambiance was pleasant. -Great position and short walki... Read more

Location very handy to walk to mall and the rest of the CBD. Also great to be away from the nightlife on Hindley street. The hotel room was mainly clean with parts modern, I say parts as a few things really should match. Such as closet, desk. Weird that the TV didnt go over 30 on the volume some channels I struggled to hear. Only minor hiccup was I had was I found a empty bottle of water under the bed, the only reason I found it was the bed was on wheels not locked in. Customer service was on ... Read more
