Great place to stay, rates were great and the rooms had everything you need. In the CBD close to the stuff I wanted to look - very quiet at night so no trouble sleeping. I walk a lot when I go somewhere so at day spent walking I was able to visit the Art Gallery, Uni of Adelaide Barr Smith Library. Food around the area was good with lots of budget places. Public transport was easy to use and well priced. Pubs around the place are great, friendly drinkers.

Modern large room. Immaculate bathroom. There was a safe in the room. Slightly away from the main streets but still close enough to walk into the city centre but if feeling lazy you can always catch the free bus which was only about 200 metres away. Service was excellent, on my last night they were quite happy to prepare a breakfast snack for me to take away as I was leaving very early.

Even local friends didn't know this hotel. Behind a beautiful facade lurks a modern hotel. Very comfortable rooms with high ceilings. Good value rates. Loath to write about this place in case it becomes too popular. The staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble. Towards the end of the stay I moved to a smaller room. The housemaid moved my food/wine into the fridge in the new room and my clothes to the new wardrobe. The reception staff were friendly and very professional. ... Read more

Loved our stay and would recommend without hesitation. Staff were excellent and the hotel was well set out with shared kitchens and laundry to boot.

This hotel is okay but not what you might expect from a "4 star boutique hotel". It began life as a Boys Institute, had several iterations as a sports location and as Government offices. Not surprisingly then its a rabbit warren - with nothing quite where you would expect it (e.g. the lift). The floors are set-up for long stay guests with a large shared kitchen on each floor. The rooms also have a generous amount of storage space (again more useful for a long stay). Room service comes from a... Read more

There is something so generic about hotels, so when you find one that feels a bit different, it's nice. All as was expected, bed very comfy... Friendly service, and really handy location for walking round the city, in particular heading to the markets. For the price, a great option.

I had a late check-in and fortunately I had a warm welcome. Room was spacious, convenient location and the staff were helpful. Could not fault it. I took the shuttle bus outside the airport which costed $5.20. Return was $3.30 off peak. In the night you have to get off at Currie Street & King William intersection get across the road to your right and take bus 224, does not take you direct to the hotel though, have to walk 10 minutes.

Here is a hotel that is an average experience. Rooms are ok the first room we were in had an aircon that did not work so we were moved. This room had a better one but we had to call the reception a few times to get it kickstarted for some reason. rooms are clean and quiet. What annoyed me was that when we asked to organise a late checkout at 5 pm we were told to pay %80 of the room rate. Well I am a frequent traveler and the common practice is to charge %50 which I was happy to pay. A little ann... Read more

This is a great little hotel just around the corner from the Hutt Street food and wine strip. It doesn't have a restaurant or bar but doesn't need one given its location. They do a continental breakfast for $10 (yes ten dollars) if you need it. The rooms are small but well equipped and with decent hanging space. The bathroom is "cosy", to be kind and the shower stall very much so! BUT the all important bed and pillows are five star for comfort. The room rate is ridiculously reasonable and the st... Read more

One of Adelaide's best-kept secrets, this friendly smaller hotel was the perfect place for a few days break. The room was warm and the bed comfortable and everything worked fine. There is a restaurant for breakfast, a lounge with complimentary computers (plus free WiFi) and a kitchen/dining area where we prepared our own meals. There cost is very reasonable for what you get. My only negative comment is that the room-service dinner (supplied by a local restaurant) was below par.

Loved this hotel, it was warm and cosy and the staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and tidy and quite spacious. The young female who greeted me when I checked in also helped me to my room with my luggage. She was so nice and funny. The only bad thing I have to mention is my room key card didn't work on three occasions. The Adabco ticks all of the boxes. It has great staff that are polite and helpful at all times, it is not pretentious and the rooms are well laid out. Everything was easy rather than hard from checkin to leaving luggage for storage. It is also only a short walk to Hutt St for a number of good restaurants and an IGA and a 10 minute walk to the heart of the CBD. The breakfast is a very basic continental breakfast for an extra $10 and a walk to Hutt St for breakfast would be a better option.

The hotel was quite small - which kind of had an intimate feel. It was clearly an older establishment that has been redone up which actually made it quite charming. It was nice not to be in the heart of the busiest part of the city. There were also some great cafe's nearby to eat at. We were really comfortable, the staff were friendly although we didn't really have too much to do with them.

I needed somewhere close to the Zoo and quiet. The hotel worked for both. It was a 30minute enjoyable walk to the zoo, close to shopping precinct and plenty of restaurants. Staff helpful and welcoming .I liked the communal food area on both floors. I like the large refurbished rooms. Thank you

We had a very pleasant stay in this smart hotel with the added bonus of a kitchen for use by guests. Our room was large, quiet and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Just around the corner was a busy cafe strip where we had some memorable meals. We took advantage of the free city circuit bus to get around. There are bus stops along the cafe strip. A great stay.

We stayed two nights here, arriving in the blackout in late September. Staff were handling that very well indeed, offering all necessary assistance to guests. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The location offers great access to the CBD, from a heritage building quite different from the standard modern brands. Recommended!

Visited here back in May and didn't have any issues. Personally I liked the dark furniture and it was also helpful to have access to a larger kitchen for guests to use. The bed sheets were clean, the bathroom was clean, the toilet was clean and everything functioned well. For the price we paid it was a very delightful stay and the staff were also friendly and helpful.

The Adabco is a beautiful boutique Hotel close to both the City and the East End. Very comforable rooms and quiet. Parking is on the street, but didn't cause any problems as it's at the quieter end of the City. Staff very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Rooms are clean, comfortable and styled to suit the Hotel with beautiful wooden shutters etc. Cafes, shops and bars on Hutt Street are a 5 min walk away.

Lovely stay. Clean, well equipped rooms are extremely spacious. Good buffet breakfast and room service available. Quiet - despite being in the centre of adelaide and walking distance to everything. Extremely helpful staff go out of their way even for the most bizarre requests. Would definitely stay again if I return to Adelaide.

Excellent for site and service. The so-called continental breakfast is extensive. Register for breakfast at time of booking for a discount. Street parking available but remember to feed the meter before 8 a.m. If you watch and listen to ABC, you will be disappointed. The channels are strangely absent from the TV and radio.

Used About Australia to set up a trip. The voucher system and flight arrangements that were revealed after we signed up were sad. Now we are at this hotel after delays, and a day and a half on flights and long layovers. But guess what, our door lock is broken. So we have to pack up and move rooms tonight. A free breakfast or SOMETHING would be nice to compensate. But ...... Seems like About Australia has been very thorough in cutting costs. No breakfast included. We are very tired and very ... I'm giving this place 5 stars because it was such a lovely surprise - for the price and the location. We enjoyed our stay here, the room was neat and clean and fresh and certainly big enough with lovely picture windows onto the city. Great bathroom. Coffee and tea. Let's start with the downsides. The hotel has no parking of its own. Outside after 08.00 to 18.00 parking is a two hour limit. Longer term parking is a walk away and expensive, however judicious use of the parking available outside can overcome the problem. Then there is the cost of continental breakfast which, for what it is, we avoided. However, there is no need to buy this as the floors have kitchens in which you can prepare and eat just about any meal with your own food at no extra cost... Read more

We generally have an evening in the city , including overnight accommodation to relax , enjoy a nice meal and a few drinks. Thought we would try the Adabco Hotel this time as the hotel price was reasonable, although it is not situated directly in the CBD area. We were pleasantly surprised as it is only a short stroll to Rundle St. The hotel itself was very pleasant, clean with good amenities and an overall revitalising atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable.

I have to admit I was a little nervous about this booking - the reviews were good but the price seemed so low I was afraid of what I'd find. Situated just south east of the centre of Adelaide CBD. Easy walking distance from most places you may need to get to. Quiet and clean, friendly staff. Had a fleeting work trip to Adelaide this week. My normal hotel was booked out thanks to the Cricket, so was able to secure a two bedroom unit at this hotel. Large rooms, comfortable beds, clean bedroom -- is there anything more that you need? This hotel is several blocks from the main part of town, but in Adelaide if you don't mind a bit of a walk you can get around fairly easily. 15 minute stroll up the Rundle mall. The bad: 1. No parking so have to park on the street and pay for every 2hrs or 3hrs on the weekend. Stayed Friday and Saturday night. Slept in on Saturday (due to time difference) and got to the car at 8.15am. There was a ticket there already! $50 fine. This is one reason why I wouldn't stay here. The... Read more
