First visit to Aruba and chose this hotel because it's all inclusive, right on the beach and had so much to offer. It's a friendly hotel and more livelier than its sister hotel the Divi. It is a bit tired in places but more than adequate and they are refurbishing areas bit by bit. The Divi is newer and slightly higher spec but as you can use the facilities there just stay at the Tamarijn and use the Divi for the larger beach and restaurants and save some money. Our room was in block 16 on the fi... Read more

My wife and I just returned from a week at Tamarijn and we are already planning our return. We travel to the Caribbean at least once a year (for the past 20 years) and we both agree that Aruba is a wonderful destination and the Tamarijn a great place to relax and have fun. The most amazing aspect of the resort is that all of the rooms are Oceanfront and offer immediate access to the beach as well as wonderful mornings of the sound of the surf and incredible sunsets every day. Yes the resort can ... Read more

The resort was fine. Food was good at ala carte and buffets. Ocean front rooms were small but nice. Service was fine. The two negatives are the beach and pool. The beach is practically non existent and the pool is just plain pathetic. The beach only has a couple entry points due to rocks but us doable. Take water shoes. The one and only pool is about 10 yards wide by 30 yards long. That's no exaggeration. Not a great deal to do for kids. Thus was our first trip to Aruba. We would definitely retu... Read more

Very nice hotel.Excellent food .Use of two hotels ameneties with 3restaurants and 2 buffets. Staff were great and very helpful. Entertainment was good. If lucky you can get a proper beach front room 5meters from the beach. Had a great time there.

My husband and I honeymooned at the Tamarijn and absolutely loved it. It's very low-key, but still offers lots of entertainment for all ages. The beach is the highlight, it's not crowded like the high rise hotels. We just went back this year with my family and loved experiencing it with them as well, I would highly recommend staying here!

We spent a week at the resort (July 4 to 11. Our second year in a row. I reviewed Trip adviser our first year and then even after booking this trip continued to read reviews If you are picky, fussy, don't like a bit of rocks at the beach, don't like small pools, don't like a bit of wind, or think food should be at a Michelon Star level, if you don't like to eat in areas with no AC then don't go. If you like to be able to walk out your sliding door and be steps from the beach, not really wo... Read more

After extensive research my husband and I decided to honeymoon here and it was perfect for us. Rooms- every room at this resort is directly on the beach so you either get an amazing balcony view or if your on the first floor you walk out of your room onto the sand. The room was big enough and house keeping did an excellent job making sure the room was cleaned and restocked everyday. Concierge- you can book all excursions and dinner reservation there. The submarine excursion is amazing. They ta... Read more

This was advertised as part of the DIVI compound with same prices and rooms. The room we had was small, dirty, broken down and was more expensive than our friend's rooms at the DIVI Golf. The rooms at the DIVI golf were way nicer. The staff even had us upgrade which wasn't worth it. We were charged $40 for two local phone calls. The wifi would only work while sitting outside on the porch. Overall the staff was nice but I feel like you can get a way better room for what you will spend here som... Read more

We loved playing bingo the past few times we've been here, but BINGO is boring without Bradley. Iris Veen is the best concierge. Go to her if you need anything or want to plan an activity outside the resort. One thing I was not really happy with was that we stayed too far from all the restaurants and pool. My husband did request a room further down but it was further down than I thought. They are doing construction work but the construction work did not seem to interfere very much with our vacat... I gave the tam a 3 star average rating. I believe it to be a bit higher but not enough for 4 stars or very good. If you are looking for a five star establishment this is not the place for you. The hotel, rooms, amenities minus the enclosed restaurants ( more later on enclosed) are in need of an upgrade and facelift. I found it to be very old. Although old it was clean which is really important. I found my bed to be uncomfortable and was hard on my back and neck by the 3rd or 4th night but n... Read more

Having had a wonderful experience at the Tamarijn for our honeymoon 13 years ago we decided to revisit with the children. I would like to start by discussing the outstanding check in process. We travelled with First Choice and don't know if this is an agreement that they have with the Tamarijn. We arrived at the airport and were told our coach number. Our name was asked and our luggage swiftly taken and labelled. On boarding the coach we were greeted by friendly Tamarijn staff and given ou... Read more

First time to Aruba and we totally loved it. For us the Tamarijn was a great choice - right on the beach (we walked out onto our patio and in 2 seconds were on the beach, in the sea in 10 seconds or less!), low rise and very relaxed. It sits about halfway between Oranjestad and the Highrise area and a taxi to either is just $9. We visited both, but I was happy to come back to the Tamarijn and just chill - big high rise hotels are not for me. Enjoyed the food and the bartenders were very gener... Read more

Lovely time at this hotel, second time here but this time with 2 children aged 1 and 4. We came for 2 weeks which was probably a bit long for the kids as there isn't much for them to do, they can't stay alone at kids club until they are 5. Pools are fab for them and they loved swimming. Food facilities are great and food is good. Rooms could do with a bit of updating but while we were there they we doing a lot of renovation work to the dining area and also a block of bedrooms so I know the resor... Read more

Our 4th trip to Aruba, (see previous reviews) Our first trip was to the Divi the last three at the Tamarijn. We were looking forward to this trip so much to what felt like our second home. We knew they had started the renovations and couldn't wait to the improvements. Not the hotels fault but we had a bad start as we were on the dreaded Thomson flight that was delayed for 9 hours. We arrived the early hours of the morning the staff were still their jolly selves even though we had kept them up wa... Read more

A lovely laid back 14 nights at the Tamarijn, spectacular beach & sunsets! Food excellent & most of the staff great! Shame about the building work which we were informed about 4 days before we went! Luckily we made sure it didn't spoil our holiday too much. Restaurants fantastic but could do with more staff to clean of an evening. We had a great tour of the island by Freddie a local businessman. Love Aruba ??

I know the place is old and in need of repairs in some areas. The sliding doors does not feel secure although crime rate in Aruba is said to be low. Lobby needs to be changed to portray a more welcoming atmosphere. However, what I noticed most is that the service people does not smile and great you. Very few service folks I actually always see smile, greet, and even converse with the guest, like Shireen (concierge), Audrey (Ginger restaurant), and several Filipino folks like Larry, Herman, Edgar,... We have just spent a week at the Tamarijn and have had a great time. Although the rooms could do with a facelift they were spotlessly clean with terrific views of the beach and sea. The buffet restaurant had lots of choice but I recommend sitting inside if you do not want to be hassled by the birds. The Ginger, Red Parrot and Paparazzi were all excellent in both the food and the service. The construction work did not really affect us as our room was well away from it all. We spent some nights... This hotel is undergoing a major refit in some areas. As it is open 365 days a year some disruption could be anticipated but to my amazement you tend not to bother about it. The buffet area is now superb much better and very pleasant. The beaches have been eroded quite a bit and not as we remember them over our last 5 visits Even so at last attempts are being made to help recover them. The sea is rougher at the moment not as calm as it was. All in all not disappointed and visitors will still h... Read more
