First, the good things: very pleasant lobby and very helpful staff. We also loved the view from the lobby of the lake, and all the birds congregating in this part of the lake -swans, flamingoes, and much more right outside the hotel across the street. No need to trek to Laguna Nimez when they're all congregating right there. The staff letting us check in early assured a pick of rooms. We found the ones facing the courtyard are better than parking-lot facing rooms. The room was OK, nothing sp... Read more

we stayed for three nights. The staff was very helpful. At the time the lift was out of order and I had a broken hip. The staff insisted I use the service elevator. It was not to bad a walk into town. The room was nice and clean and the food was good.

This sitting and bar areas immediately around the front desk looks nice, but the rooms are grim and the bathroom worse. This hotel seems to have invested into the common areas only and left the rooms to deteriorate. Breakfast was okay. Dinner at hotel restaurant - meh. One afternoon a couple trying to check-in buzzed and buzzed at the front desk. I wandered the hotel looking for some staff to help as I also needed to retrieve my luggage. Eventually someone turned up. If the couple didn... Read more

Spacious place, rooms and common areas have plenty of space although furniture is outdated. Breakfast is ok for Argentine standard, though I missed eggs. Rooms are not very soundproof, you can hear the people in the other room talking. Location is a little out of the centre but was not a problem(about 10m walk to start of centre).

All the basics are fine, breakfast is the same fare you'll find in every hotel in Argentina, as otters have said the walls are thin, and the rooms have 1970's wood-paneled feel to them, lol. other than that it's fine. el calafate isn't a place you go to hang out at your hotel room anyway, so sort of worth the savings, although if you book early i'd go with a place closer to the main drat. Lar Aike a 15 minute walk from "downtown" and in warm weather the local free range dogs will follow you hom... Read more

Stayed here one night.  On the main road overlooking Lago Argentino.   Room was clean and rustic decor, rather on the small side but fine.  Helpful staff.  Breakfast was not that good, consisting of pastries and coffee although I have experienced worse breakfasts whilst in Argentina!
