The Claridge hotel is comfortable with very friendly staff. The buffet breakfast is great, and the lounge is a nice place to relax. Internet could be faster, and bathroom should include more towels, supplies, etc. The staff spoke English which was very comforting.

We fell for this place based on the pictures posted. I hate to write bad reviews but this was definitely one of those "really old, trying to renovate, haven't been successful" kind of place. Room sizes were pretty small and the bathrooms were tiny. We were moved to a "better room" after complaining but wasn't any different. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Way too cluttered and old for our liking, especially considering there are ton of other options. Breakfast was decent, coffee wasn't t... Read more

At one time, this was a British jewel in BA. The photos you see online show an amazing facade and clean, comfortable rooms. It looks sophisticated... posh even. Alas, that time has passed. The facade has held up, but you'll smell mold as soon as you enter the lobby. Enter your own room, and the mold and mildew smell will grow stronger. In fact, you might be able to spot them in one of the numerous "water stains" lining the walls and ceiling. You'll find a room service menu somewhere on th... Read more

We stayed there last week and the service was wonderful, the personnel was very knowledgeable and friendly, the rooms were nice size and the price was great. The location is perfect for visiting the city. It is only a block from the walking street, Florida, and close to museums and other sites. The arranged a tour for us, which was inexpensive and very informative. The guide was great and her English was flawless. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

I have been traveling to BA for more than 30 years for business and pleasure, and I should issue a declaimer, 'I love this city'. This trip I decided to again stay in the Claridge, a small old style hotel well situated in the Micro Center district, which is excellent as a base for walking around this beautiful city. The Claridge has small rooms perfectly adequate unless you spend a lot of time inside, and a lovely old bar in the style of a British pub from the 50's, where I am naturally havin... Read more

A very good hotel. The room was big and very comfortable. The breakfast was good. The location also seems to be perfect, even though not for bars and nightlife (at least not in midweeks). We could walk a few minutes to the real center of the city, and took the Tourist Bus as well (good if you are into sight seeing).

The Claridge Hotel was the first place I stayed on my trip to Buenos Aires. It's an older but very nice hotel situated in the north end of the business district of Buenos Aires--Microcentro. The location has easy walking access to the pedestrian street, Calle Florida, to the Teatro Colon, to the Plaza de Mayo where the Casa Rosado is, and to the Plaza San Martin. Inside, the elegant entryway has a bar/restaurant (where I had a pleasant glass of wine in the evening), English-speaking staff, and... Read more

This is part of my husband's letter to Orbitz/Expedia regarding our trip. I only wish I had hotel staff names. A few nights after being in the hotel, I awoke to something crawling on my face. I turned on the light, and found several blood smears on my pillow, and numerous bugs crawling on me. When I went to the bathroom I had blood smeared on my face from where I had squashed a bug. I returned to the bed with a headlamp (yes, I travel with a headlamp), and proceeded to find and squish several ... Read more

If you are looking for a perfect hotel and do not bother about atmosphere there is a huge variety. If you prefer a traditional place with the real hotel feeling, Claridge is the best choice. It is a traditional hotel in the British mansion style (though a high-rise in BA microcentro) with the luxury standard of the 1950s. The building, the hall and the breakfast room are great, standard rooms nice enough and there is a nice outdoor pool in summertime. Due to previous criticism breakfast has impr... Read more

Not a 5 star hotel by far for me. Difficult to get to with a private car. Room was hot and air conditioning did not work. Overall a bit shabby. Service was average. Location isn't too bad. Would never go back.

Although my recent visits have been confined to "one night stands", either coming from or returning to Europe, by my reckoning, I have now stayed at the Claridge more than two dozen times, a figure which speaks for itself. Having experienced a large number of other hotels in BA during visits spanning more than 40 years, the Claridge is indubitably the best that I have encountered, hence my return on an average of at least four times a year. I have previously extolled its virtues, to which I mu... Read more
