"We stayed at the Sandals in Antigua this past week to celebrate our anniversary with another couple. The location was beautiful: clear water, soft sand and very friendly people. My husband and I are not planning to have children, so it was wonderful to be away for a week without any kids around. It is really a place for couples and is set up for that. We saw a few on-site weddings. It is a perfect picture for them. If you are a scuba diver, the dive expenses are included. The only drawback would be the very specific meal times they actually won't let you in, if you are 30 seconds past their cut off and the constant music. If you want some silence to hear just the ocean, you'll have to walk down to the end of the beach. I don't think the music would be so bad if they changed the CD. It was repetitive and old after a while. They have games set up and so there is usually something entertaining to do. We also paid extra to have a cabana for the day which included very comfy padded lounge chairs, breakfast and lunch, brought to your cabana and direct access to the large pool. The price is worth it. We enjoyed it and would recommend it to others."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon at Sandals Grande Antigua. It truly was an experience of a lifetime! We were already planning our next Sandals vacation on our first day there!! The Luxury-Included service was phenomenal. We were so amazed at being able to leave our wallets behind and just eat as much as we wanted, and have fun without spending a fortune. The restaurants were amazing and we ate at every single one and loved all the menu choices. Our service was hands-down unbelievable. We stayed in two different room categories and were treated with the same respect in both of them. The butler service was awesome! We loved having someone treat us like royalty. The entire stay was the best week of our entire lives. As a newlywed couple, we had so much fun making memories together and kicking back in the hot Antiguan sun. The clear blue water beach was beautiful and we never wanted to leave. I would HIGHLY recommend Sandals for anyone looking to have a relaxing, enjoyable, fun vacation."

"From the moment we boarded the shuttle to the resort until we returned to the airport home we experienced the easiest 6 days we can recall. Talk about rest and relaxation! Everyone, including the resort representatives at the airport, the concierge desk (especially Matera!), the restaurant staff, and the entertainment personnel made our stay enjoyable. All you do is ask (nicely) and your wish is their command. ''We must give a special thank you to Matera who really made a big difference in our stay. We had a small problem with our first room, which was really out of the hands of the resort. We simply explained the issue at hand and before we knew it our room was changed. All we needed to do was pack our luggage and the rest was taken care of. The level of personal service we received from Matera at the concierge desk couldnt have been better. And might I say, the view from the room in the Mediterranean section of the resort is breathtaking! The rooms in that section are all ocean-facing rooms so its hard to go wrong with any of them.''As returning visitors to Sandals, we were invited to a special reception/dinner our second night there where we had the most amazing swordfish. Besides the food though, its a very nice gesture on the resort's part. We cant recall a single other hotel or resort we've stayed at that has asked us to a reception just for returning again. Very nice touch! As far as the food goes, it was very good. Occasionally, they were out of an item or two, but with so much selection you just move on to an equally yummy choice. We did hear some couples talking about having long waits for dinner. We didn't even notice since our routine was to eat a later lunch at one of the many outdoor restaurants where we could take our food to our room and enjoy the view and quiet from our balcony. Then we would eat a later dinner, just in time to settle into the evening's entertainment. The pool is spectacular. The chaise lounges plentiful and comfortable. The poolside swim-up bar is a great place to spend the day lounging. The hummingbirds, one of their special drinks, were our favorite poolside libation. Otherwise, the beach and watersport activities are nearby. If you're thinking of a vacation to rest and relax on some of the most beautiful beaches and pools, the Sandals Grande Antigua is for you."
