My wife and I just came back from a 1 week stay there during 2nd week of May. We chose this resort over others due to the high star rating from Google and TripAdvisor. The bottom line is that I will not be returning to this resort in the future. The Good: - The resort itself is beautiful and well positioned on the Antigua Island with 2 beaches, a traditional beach facing the Atlantic side and a calm, and lake like beach. From the easy check-in to the very last morning, St. James Club did not disappoint. A very nice all-inclusive with staff that are very helpful and happy. Eat at the buffet or reserve a sit down dinner 1 day in advance. Breakfast buffet is great but you can also select items from a separate menu (perfect poached eggs every time). One of the nicest "perks" is no towel cards or drink bracelets. Just great fun at a resort with an ocean and bay side beach, no crowds and plenty of relaxing fun.

Booked through Interval International during mid-May (off season, resort at about 60% capacity). Upon arriving our "Premium" room was unavailable so we were upgraded to Ocean Front in Papaya - AWESOME). Just didn't like that you couldn't turn your porch/deck light off at night. Room was very clean, but we learned that the AC unit has a motion sensor - so don't turn it low, leave the room, and come back expecting it to be cool. We booked this resort the last week of May into June. We purchased a voucher that we thought entitled us to a week for free at the resort as part of a charitable auction. After negotiating with Elite Resorts starting in November with the hope of getting a week in the winter we finally found a week at the end of May. The free part of the voucher was the room- we still needed to purchase the All-Inclusive portion which ended up being $2200 U.S. The trip with airfare ended up costing $6000 Canadian... Read more

My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a conference at the St. James Club and Resort in Antigua and Barbuda this past week. The property is top quality. The service at the resort was amazing. Everyone greeted us with a smile and "Good Day" wherever we went. The food was plentiful and the drinks were fantastic. If you ever have a chance to go to Antigua, I strongly recommend you stay at St. James Club and Resort. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We have been going to St. James's Club for over 16 years. We are always welcomed like family. This past year I had health issues before our visit....when the staff found out, they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The villas are great and the food is delicious. The beaches give everyone their own space. Condace in the Rainbow Garden dining room is an institution there who makes everyone feel like VIP's!

Check in and transfer to room efficient. Was given a map of the resort but think now it would also be helpful to have a copy of the timetable for the Restuarants available each day. (Saves having to go to the notice board everyday) also I think it would be good idea to have a copy of the daily activities available either delivered to your room the night before or to be picked up at breakfast. Just back from ten days at The St James's Club. Overall experience was good, with just a couple of niggles that prevented it being an excellent one. Our first impression of the hotel was not good. We arrived and the reception area was not great. Looked very 1970's and the bar - the Jacaranda Bar - looked like the inside of a working man's club from that era. Have stayed here in a number of occasions and stay in the Royal suites. There are two pools here for use of Royal suite guests. One with a waterfall which is ok and another much smaller sort of plunge pool tacked on the side. It's this one that needs a bit of work, it's like sitting in a concrete yard! Could there be a bit of landscaping to soften it? Looking out over the bay is fine but turn around and there is a huge blank wall, it's all a bit drab. In Cove Suites at Blue Waters, each pool is ... My family and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the St Jame's Club. The staff were very friendly and always pleasant. The golf buggies were a bonus to ride on since the sun was always so HOT! Even though sometimes it took ages before one could collect you from your villa. The villas were very clean and the airco was a big plus! Our villa was so close to the children's swimming pool that we could allow the boys ages 13 and 17 to take a swim whilst we kept an eye on them from the kitch... Read more

Our arrival was rocky. The rooms were not what we reserved. The staff was icy. Most of the service people had their hand out for a tip and made excessive verbal cues for tips including withholding service if money was not present. I was warned about this but shrugged it off. On the plus side, this island enjoys beautiful climate and oceanfront. The food was ok. I do not go away to all inclusive resorts expecting haute cuisine so I was okay with that. The trip ended well. I feel this hotel achieves higher scores than perhaps it should. You will often see when looking through TripAdvisor reviews saying ' returning for the 10th time!!' etc. When you arrive this becomes clear why.The majority of people there were Timeshare owners. These are taken out for a minimum of 25 years.Obviously they are going to keep going back. this also means they have a vested interest in the hotel so higher the ratings the better. This also led to youngster's who obviously meet up every ye... Read more

We moved to this hotel after arriving elsewhere to a terrible hotel. It was clean with excellent service, good food and good entertainment. Most of the restaurants have table service which is a nice change from the all inclusive buffet. The food was very good and varied, lots of choice. Rooms were clean and spacious. The only criticism I have is the lack of sockets by the mirror - the humid plays havoc with my hair and having to get ready practically in the bathroom was a sweaty challenge! ... Read more

We'd only been to the Caribbean once before - St Lucia, many years ago - and it was one of the best holidays we had ever been on, so when we booked to go to SJC we had high hopes, but were slightly nervous that it wouldn't live up to our previous experience. It did. In spades. From the moment you arrive at SJC you feel like you're in the 'right' place. We rented a privately owned villa which comes cheaper than going through the resort. This was a bonus as we found that the cost of eating and drinking there was - typically for the Caribbean - high end. This wasn't helped by the hidden extras, such as wifi for the villa (free in public areas) and extra towels or bedding. Just spent a weekend in SJC; was more than impressed; our villa was beachfront, so we could walk out of the patio right onto the beach. The beach was cleaned daily to remove seaweed and not ONE mosquito nor sand flies to be found. Food and service was excellent with a great Indian Night. We also had a brilliant band to entertain with super music for my wife and I to dance the night away. No regrets - would repeat happily

We just returned from our first week at the St. Jame's and needless to say that we will be returning. From the moment we arrived till the day we departed we were spoiled by the truly incredible staff. We had a lovely beachfront room (323) that was a mere 2 minute walk to Coco's beach. The room was absolutely perfect and the vaulted cathedral ceilings were a nice added bonus as was the LARGE patio on which to enjoy the sunrise and the sounds of those tropical waves. The staff have to be commended... Read more

We were given an upgrade to a royal suite and couldnt fault the room. The resort was very large and a long walk between bars, restaurants and rooms. The food and service was appalling - not what we expected having stayed in other resorts in the caribbean. The staff (when you could get hold of them) were very friendly. The menu's in the Al La Carte were the same for 3 days running, and then changed and were the same for the next 3 days!!! Fortunately the resort was quite quiet when we were th... Read more

We book St James' as it looked fantastic. We were given a standard room to start with which was noisy and very dusty with building work all round. We met the owner by chance who asked which room were we in and we explained the issues we were having. We were moved to a Royal Suite for the second week of our holiday and it was fantastic. It changed our whole opinion of the place. There are a few issues but if you are looking for two weeks R&R in the sun this is a fabulous location. You need ... Read more

we travwllwd as a group of five couples for a friends anniversary. St. James Club is located on a point, one side facing the Atlantic and the other side facing a bay. I would definately upgrade to an Oceanview because they have been renovated and the sun rises are stunning. I can not say enough about how safe we felt in Antigua. My friend left her wallet in a cab and the cab driver drove it back before she knew it was missing. I have travelled a lot through the Caribbean and the food here wa... Read more

We had a beachfront room that was large with two beds and since it was on the first floor had a nice veranda and we stepped right on to the beach. Beds were really comfortable. We went late October so the resort was a little slow and there were plenty of lounge chairs on the beach. An employee drove a jeep down the beach serving drinks. The water was warm and you get both the ocean and the bay at this resort. The food was good especially Coco's. Shoutout to Chevier (sp?) best waiter ever. ... Read more

We were allocated the room I requested, on the oceanfront, ground floor - step out from the verandah and on to the beach. The staff were again amazing, welcoming, inclusive, and fun. The whole place has an atmosphere of calm and relaxation, although there are plenty of diverse activities to keep the more active & energetic occupied. We stayed at St James from 11/29 to 11/5 and had a superb stay. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were always taken care of. The accomidations were clean, comfortable, spacious and had a great view of the bay. We alternated between the pool and the ocean and enjoyed both equally. Hobie Cat sailboats were free and we had fun using them every day. We also kayaked, swam, and went snorkeling. My wife and I just came back from this Resort after 7 days. We had a beach view room on the Atlantic side and it was a spacious and clean room. The front desk and lobby service was excellent and pleasant. The food was very good. Because of the bar locations, the resort provided a mobile bar service for the 2 beaches. We were torn between SJC or Verandah before we booked our vacation. After googled the location, we have decided to go for SJC, and we definitely made a good choice. It took about 30 mins from the airport to the resort and the ride was a little bumpy though. The resort site is not huge, everywhere is walkable distance. The room ‚?? we requested higher floor (well 2nd floor is the highest) with quiet location and we get what we asked, facing Atlantic Ocean. Very spacious and clean with a little f... Read more

After spending a lot of time deliberating over where to spend two weeks in the Caribbean to celebrate a 50th Birthday & also our Silver wedding anniversary as a couple, this resort was chosen as top of a short list of 3 in Antigua including The Verrandah & Pineapple Beach (which was £1400 cheaper!). With hindsight, either of the others would have been VERY preferable! Check-in seemed a chore for the staff. We just returned from a four day stay at St. James Club Antigua. Let me start by saying it‚??s a nice resort and we had a nice getaway; however it was not what we expected for what we paid. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we upgraded to their top-level "Royal Suite" expecting that the room, the concierge, private pool, and bar to be worth it (when we booked, the ‚??Royal Suite‚?? cost almost twice as much as a ‚??Club‚?? room). We loved the resort. It's so unique with a beach on the Caribbean Ocean and a second secluded beach on a well protected bay, and the resort is nestled between them. The all inclusive is the way to go with several restaurant options to choose from. The hill top gourmet restaurant that overlooks the bay is very romantic and feels like you are sitting in Europe overlooking the Med. It was like a scene from a classic movie. Let me start with the positives. Many more sunbeds than people, now that has to be a major plus. For sure it is late November so not high season but I would guess the place is 50-60% full. So a real benefit. There are Hobies, paddle boards and kayaks on the beach and a designated swimming area in the lagoon. The Atlantic beach is clean and well shaded as is the lagoon beach wich is about 3 deg warmer at 31 deg. Our room is Ocean view and has all you need and is very clean and tidy. The £1000 e... Spectacular venue with excellent water sport facilities and beaches. We went all inclusive, but disappointed by mediocre/bland food, including the 'fine dining' restaurant at extra cost $37.50 per head plus cost of bottled wine. Check in and check out requires a lot of time and patience, but all other service was exemplary. Would certainly visit again, although make provision for eating out at nearby restaurants which offer really fine dining

Stayed here for 7 nights in October 2016 and had a great time. Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. The resort has two beaches, one wavy and one calm, with plenty of sunbeds to choose from. Restaurants are good and we didn't get bored of the food. Most of the staff were lovely, a few seemed to forget who their customers were. They also 'fog' the grounds every day to get rid of any mozzies, which is great for the missus. Let me just start off by saying the only reason I gave 4 stars was because the resort beach was not to my satisfactory.
