My wife and I just came back from a 1 week stay there during 2nd week of May. We chose this resort over others due to the high star rating from Google and TripAdvisor. The bottom line is that I will not be returning to this resort in the future. The Good: - The resort itself is beautiful and well positioned on the Antigua Island with 2 beaches, a traditional beach facing the Atlantic side and a calm, and lake like beach. We have been to DR, Cuba resorts but have not been seen resort like this ... Read more

From the easy check-in to the very last morning, St. James Club did not disappoint. A very nice all-inclusive with staff that are very helpful and happy. Eat at the buffet or reserve a sit down dinner 1 day in advance. Breakfast buffet is great but you can also select items from a separate menu (perfect poached eggs every time). One of the nicest "perks" is no towel cards or drink bracelets. Just great fun at a resort with an ocean and bay side beach, no crowds and plenty of relaxing fun.

Booked through Interval International during mid-May (off season, resort at about 60% capacity). Upon arriving our "Premium" room was unavailable so we were upgraded to Ocean Front in Papaya - AWESOME). Just didn't like that you couldn't turn your porch/deck light off at night. Room was very clean, but we learned that the AC unit has a motion sensor - so don't turn it low, leave the room, and come back expecting it to be cool. We booked this resort the last week of May into June. We purchased a voucher that we thought entitled us to a week for free at the resort as part of a charitable auction. After negotiating with Elite Resorts starting in November with the hope of getting a week in the winter we finally found a week at the end of May. The free part of the voucher was the room- we still needed to purchase the All-Inclusive portion which ended up being $2200 U.S. The trip with airfare ended up costing $6000 Canadian... Read more

My wife and I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a conference at the St. James Club and Resort in Antigua and Barbuda this past week. The property is top quality. The service at the resort was amazing. Everyone greeted us with a smile and "Good Day" wherever we went. The food was plentiful and the drinks were fantastic. If you ever have a chance to go to Antigua, I strongly recommend you stay at St. James Club and Resort. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We have been going to St. James's Club for over 16 years. We are always welcomed like family. This past year I had health issues before our visit....when the staff found out, they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. The villas are great and the food is delicious. The beaches give everyone their own space. Condace in the Rainbow Garden dining room is an institution there who makes everyone feel like VIP's!

Check in and transfer to room efficient. Was given a map of the resort but think now it would also be helpful to have a copy of the timetable for the Restuarants available each day. (Saves having to go to the notice board everyday) also I think it would be good idea to have a copy of the daily activities available either delivered to your room the night before or to be picked up at breakfast. Just back from ten days at The St James's Club. Overall experience was good, with just a couple of niggles that prevented it being an excellent one. Our first impression of the hotel was not good. We arrived and the reception area was not great. Looked very 1970's and the bar - the Jacaranda Bar - looked like the inside of a working man's club from that era. However, we then moved onto our room - a Royal Suite. This gave us a separate private check in, a personal concierge service and some vouc... Read more

Have stayed here in a number of occasions and stay in the Royal suites. There are two pools here for use of Royal suite guests. One with a waterfall which is ok and another much smaller sort of plunge pool tacked on the side. It's this one that needs a bit of work, it's like sitting in a concrete yard! Could there be a bit of landscaping to soften it? Looking out over the bay is fine but turn around and there is a huge blank wall, it's all a bit drab. In Cove Suites at Blue Waters, each pool is ... Since we had brought our 7 month old daughter our travel agent suggested we get the beach front room on ground level for the fridge, tub and less stairs as there are no elevators to the upper levels. They also provided us with a crib. Our room had a porch which lead right to the beach. That was enjoyable! The room had a mini fridge and a mini sink with counter space, which... Read more

Im going for a short review! Well we will see.......?!?!? but 95% good! Love the St James, Everyones always polite and welcoming - can't fault that at all! We stayed in the beach front room, with direct access - I'd emailed and requested ahead and this request was met to my complete satisfaction. Beaches beautiful as ever...... Clean and drinks cart was around every 2hrs (ish) Plenty of beds, almost to many as 80% were empty. Cleaners serviced our room, some to a better standard than others, w... Read more

My family and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the St Jame's Club. The staff were very friendly and always pleasant. The golf buggies were a bonus to ride on since the sun was always so HOT! Even though sometimes it took ages before one could collect you from your villa. The villas were very clean and the airco was a big plus! Our villa was so close to the children's swimming pool that we could allow the boys ages 13 and 17 to take a swim whilst we kept an eye on them from the kitch... Read more

Our arrival was rocky. The rooms were not what we reserved. The staff was icy. Most of the service people had their hand out for a tip and made excessive verbal cues for tips including withholding service if money was not present. I was warned about this but shrugged it off. On the plus side, this island enjoys beautiful climate and oceanfront. The food was ok. I do not go away to all inclusive resorts expecting haute cuisine so I was okay with that. The trip ended well. We found the e... Read more

This resort was simply amazing. The grounds were so large, very beautiful, and very clean. Our room, the service, the activities, the views, and the food and drinks were amazing. We truly had our dream honeymoon here. We will definitely be returning!!

I feel this hotel achieves higher scores than perhaps it should. You will often see when looking through TripAdvisor reviews saying ' returning for the 10th time!!' etc. When you arrive this becomes clear why.The majority of people there were Timeshare owners. These are taken out for a minimum of 25 years.Obviously they are going to keep going back. this also means they have a vested interest in the hotel so higher the ratings the better. This also led to youngster's who obviously meet up every ye... Read more

My family and I traveled to Antigua St. James Club for the first time in July. We didn't know what to expect from an all inclusive but were so pleased with the staff, location, amenities and variety of food. The resort is immaculately maintained and every went above and beyond to be helpful and kind. We are planning to return again.

We moved to this hotel after arriving elsewhere to a terrible hotel. It was clean with excellent service, good food and good entertainment. Most of the restaurants have table service which is a nice change from the all inclusive buffet. The food was very good and varied, lots of choice. Rooms were clean and spacious. The only criticism I have is the lack of sockets by the mirror - the humid plays havoc with my hair and having to get ready practically in the bathroom was a sweaty challenge! ... Read more

We'd only been to the Caribbean once before - St Lucia, many years ago - and it was one of the best holidays we had ever been on, so when we booked to go to SJC we had high hopes, but were slightly nervous that it wouldn't live up to our previous experience. It did. In spades. From the moment you arrive at SJC you feel like you're in the 'right' place. It isn't perfect - the beach on one side suffers from a constant seaweed problem, and the other, in the bay, is a little murky, and some of th... Read more

My best friend and I stayed here last year, the first time she had left her husband and children to have some much deserved rest and relaxation. The hotel is lovely, as you come round the bend of the bay the vast sweeping hotel is laid out before you, looking very inviting. We had a large and airy room overlooking the beach with steps down onto the sand which would have been perfect - except for the large piles of seaweed. Of course this couldn't be helped and the team worked tirelessly to gat... Read more

Great resort, two beach areas, ocean side and bay side. included water sports, 3 restaurants, good choice of food, friendly staff and better than expected for an all inclusive. book the powerboat tour of the island and head to English bay for sunset.

I spent a week at this place in July. The place is nothing to what I used to, huge hotels, night shows, everything is usually big and noisy, this place is quite and homy It felt like it was mine suburban home very cozy and convenient. The food was Ok nothing very very special but tasty, again like homy and simple. We stayed at the beach front room it was simply wonderful, it was literally five steps to very nice and quite beach the waves was no big at all cause there is a series of coral reefs ... Read more

After a pleasant hour's drive from the airport, we were greeted with a glass of fizz and hot towels. Check-in was seamless. We had requested a top floor end of corridor room and this is exactly what we got. We stayed in a Virgin Beach Club room right on the Atlantic side beach front. The room was bright, airy and the furnishings were in keeping with the resort. The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean and there was a useful "kitchenette" area with coffee pot, sink and stocked fridge (fou... Read more

We returned to St James this year and the place is as good as ever. Staff really friendly and helpful and place well maintained. While the standard of the food was better than our last visit the disappointment was the lack of variety especially at Rainbow Gardens. When we first visited each night it was open there was a different menu albeit they repeated in the second week and on our last visit there were two menus so one for each week of our stay. This time it was the same menu all the time so... Read more

Just back from 10 days staying in the Royal Suites, rm207. 30 mins transfer from the airport. As our first holiday without kids for years we decided to upgrade and are glad we did. What a great experience, you even get your own Royal Suites check in area and we were looked after all week by Margaret, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The room size was great, massive bathroom and own lounge area with access to good satellite tv selections for lazy nights in catching the olympics. Being on... Read more

We rented a privately owned villa which comes cheaper than going through the resort. This was a bonus as we found that the cost of eating and drinking there was - typically for the Caribbean - high end. This wasn't helped by the hidden extras, such as wifi for the villa (free in public areas) and extra towels or bedding. We took a 4 day all inclusive option for part of the holiday, but for $125 per day per person this was only a saving if you can eat and a drink vast amounts (which my 21 year ol... Read more
