Our week at the Verandah was wonderful. The lodging consists of duplex cottages spread out over beautifully-maintained, garden-like grounds. Staff were delightful. The Verandah has two beaches with plenty of spots for sun and shade. The resort is located in a bay, so the surf is very gentle -- ideal if you're traveling with kids or if you prefer to enjoy the water without crashing waves. Devil's Bridge is just a short stroll from the Verandah. We definitely plan to return.

It was an excellent stay. Since our last time there (May 2015) the food has improved tremendously. Also the grounds have matured and are really well looked after. All staff were very welcoming and the kids club was great. Two complaints 1. The pool was a little too cold 2. The coffee on sight was not good. You need to install a proper bean to cup coffee machine

This is a very nice resort, upon arrival we were greeted with a choice of a rum punch or fruit juice drink and a cool cloth to refresh ourselves with. The reception area was pleasant and the staff friendly and efficient. We were then taken to our room overlooking the water. The room was very spacious with high ceilings and well appointed with a small kitchen with microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The bathroom had two sinks and an very large shower with soaker tub. The balcony over... Read more

Travelled with husband and 2 children (15 and 11). We loved every minute at the Verandah Resort and Spa. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the facilities catered to all our requirements and more, and the food was great. Watersports were perfect with plenty of equipment and safe waters, and the crazy golf was the best we've every seen. Couldn't ask more for a relaxing family Christmas break.

Jut spent Christmas with my wife and 2 daughters (11 and 14). It's difficult to know where to start. Food was amazing (no need to go to Nicole's) but make sure you book 2 days in advance at the a la carte restaurants, although Seebreeze was also great. Room with beautiful view of the bay, main beach lovely with good watersports. Hotel staff were so friendly. Book a couple of tours at the tour desk. Will definitely return

A great location and it is hard to fault winter sun really and overall we had a great stay. I guess it depends on what you are expecting service, food wise etc. A real and historical place - not too much fake here. If the staff had the hump you knew about it which on many levels is kind of refreshing, but it ain't always service with a smile. Food was OK, but patchy and boring at times. Coffee was awful, a surprise given its many American visitors. On balance, worth a visit but with some re... Read more

As with many resorts, reviews are mixed. We think it deserves a five star for thr following reasons. Having visited hundreds of hotels and many of these in the Caribbean....we weren't sure what to expect of The Verandah......the Caribbean can be mixed. The long and short of it is that we like it a lot...why? Firstly, the people: friendly, genuine and sincere - name checking a few with Vera at Rasta bar for her dry genuine humour, Olson at the water sports for engaging and hilarious and Tyfan... Read more
