Lovely location with sea views and green tropical gardens. Great food from all the restaurants and very good entertainment for all the family. The beaches are a short distance away from the rooms.and provide water sports and sun beds. The resort offers many sport facilities including a gym, Spa, Beach volley ball, mini. Golf, tennis. The rooms are spacious and have large bathroom, veranda and comfortable furnishing. I can highly recommend this resort for everyone and is set in a idyllic location... Read more

Spent a week early this month @ the Verandah Resort. Everything was perfect, even the food. We have gone to several all inclusive resorts & this was the best one. Accommodations in cottages were so nice & large. Also spent a week @ The St. James Club, a sister resort. Liked the Verandah so much better. Truly a restful & relaxing atmosphere.

Great holiday and wedding resort with excellent food, drinks and 1st class staff. The resort is very clean we great views over the calm Sea bay, we got married on Rasta Beach a beautiful setting and the wedding planner 'Andrea' was fantastic. All staff in the restaurants and bars were very good with special praise to 'D'Angelo' and Kerry Ann. The water sports was very good, beach clean with plenty of sun loungers and towels. We absolutely loved our stay at The Verandah. The staff are amazing and so friendly. The room was huge the bath was massive. All rooms have some kind of sea view so I don't think a upgrade was worth it. We loved the main beach and used all of the water sports which where really fun. The beach bar was amazing for drinks and lunches (we didn't go there for dinner but you can) I used the gym which really needed some air con. It was basic but good enough for a quick work out. The main lobby when you first enter is beautiful and sets "vacation mode." It's all outdoors but covered and there is a golf cart waiting to take you to your house/room. Checking in took us only 5 min (prefer visa or MasterCard even though it says they accept discover). When we were being driven to our room the escort explained where everything was on the way. Luckily we were right by the main pool which is within a 1-2 min walk to everything (beach, pool, main bar and restaurants). The rooms we... Read more

This was our 4th visit here, and things just keep getting better! Had a waterfront suite, fab view over the watersports beach. We had requested a rollaway bed and this had been duly supplied. Room lovely as always, food scrummy we ate in all the restaurants. Drinks were good, grounds immaculate, not too busy even though it was half term (UK) and there were lots of wedding parties. We enjoyed the 'new' beach bbq, this just needs tweeking a little as it was only the 4th time they had done it but w... Read more

It all starts with a real welcome including iced flannels, rum punch and then a golf buggy for you and your luggage to your suite. The property consists of villas scattered along a lovely stretch of coastline within two bays. It's probably a mile from one end, reception, to the other, the main beach and water sports area, but this doesn't matter as there are fleets of golf buggies cruising the resort and although we had determined to walk as much as possible to lessen the effects of the all incl... My husband and I just returned from a fine vacation here. The property has a basic mid range foundation but built upon it are some very nice high end surprises. The scenery is spectacular. The landscaping is lush. The food is well above average and the home grown produce very well prepared. The pastry chef makes outstanding baked goods for breakfast and a dizzying array of desserts. My husband and I stayed at the Verandah for our 15th wedding anniversary. This was our first time doing an all inclusive. I did a lot of research prior to booking, not only in Antigua, but looking at other all inclusive options. For my husband and I, we wanted a resort with accommodations that were a little different than a hotel, but still many of your larger hotel offerings. The Verandah had that for us! The Verandah is a very unique all inclusive resort... As it is not quite all-inclusive or have the necessary amenities to make it an all inclusive. Let's first get the negatives out of the way: The rooms need touching up as far as the accommodations are concerned. The beds are hard as a rock, bathroom area was not sanitary when we arrived. I'm sure almost all of the reviews you've already read about this resort said the same thing I'm about to say. GREAT location, GREAT property and pool, pretty great food for an all inclusive, but the staff are not friendly. We're not sure if it's just their culture or if they don't like their jobs, but very few staff we encountered on our nine day family vacation, were very friendly.

Food was very good and changed every day for variety, bucanneers restaurant served great food, Nicole;s was overrated but the ambience is great. rooms are a little dated and could do with a refresh, staff are all very friendly and helpful especially the girls in guest services I cant praise them highly enough. some of the waiting staff were slow and occasionally nowhere to be seen during service, with a look lik... My husband and I have travelled all over the world (24 countries for him, 14 for me) and we consider ourselves pretty good judges of places to stay, and eat. And I honestly don't know what the people giving Verandah a bad review are talking about. We came here for a week's vacation and loved it. Sure there are things that could be changed: the wifi really is close to terrible. Some things in the rooms need to be fixed or updated: loose towel racks, leaking showers, not enough lighting. Our room ... Read more

I arrived home yesterday from The Verandah Resort and Spa and cannot believe this hotel has a certificate of excellence and good reviews! My review is negative but honest and is designed to point out a lot of pointers that nobody else has made readers and potential guests aware of so here goes........ First and foremost you have to pay for water!!! $5 per bottle at that. I could not believe that our room had a fridge and it remained empty for the whole trip. Being an all inclusive I expected a... Extremely friendly and family-oriented atmosphere with professionalism throughout every interaction. Mouth watery food, gorgeous beach and breath taking sceneries were more than enough to entice a return visit. But the true icing on the cake were the staff members...Especially Shaville, his amicability is very unique, he took the time to talk to us, informed us of various events & activities at the Resort, made us feel at home and very comfortable. Chef Kenny, always smiling and you only hav... Read more

This is a lovely hotel. Every convenience is at your finger tips: Food, drinks, activities: Billiards, darts, tennis, mini golf, water sports at the beach which is right there, pool for everyone and a more private pool for adults only so you can get some quiet time at the pool, you can book tours with the hotel, or get a rental or call up a taxi with them. We had a waterside room which was spacious enough for three of us. Most of our meals were at the main restaurant where we had great service bu... Read more

I realised a long standing ambition of mine this year, to visit the Caribbean and by coming to the Verandah, I wasnâ??t disappointed at all. We visited as a family with two active older teenagers, and I was a little concerned that they might find it a bit quiet and not much going for them, and although it was a little more relaxed than some we have been to over the years, there was plenty to do and they managed to meet a few people of a similar age that they could mix with. The food in the main ... Read more

My husband and I stayed the last week of July for our honeymoon. I want to start off by saying that this resort is much more family-friendly than we anticipated. It was fine for us, but probably not a "honeymoon" resort destination if you are looking for mainly adults. All the children there, at least the week we stayed, were extremely well behaved and very quiet. Rum punch upon check in: A++ Cold towel offered: A++ Our room was available immediately. We got there around 3. WiFi: For some reas... Read more

This is the best all inclusive we have ever stayed in.The accommodation is wonderful, cabins that are very spacious inside. We had a waterfront which was worth the extra money. Ask for a room near the main beach. The food was very good in the buffet and the main beach bar served excellent lunch time snacks. The main beach has nicely spaced out beds so doesn't feel at all crowded and the water sports guys were very helpful. The staff were all very friendly. For a relaxing carribean beach holiday... This resort is in a great location the layout allows for spectacular views of the ocean and bay, however some things were not up to mark. When we arrived on July 31, 2016 it was raining which was ok, however we got soaked in the golf cart this could have been prevented by placing side plastic covers for when it rains. In addition, when our luggage was placed in our rooms all was wet and some of our clothes were wet. The beach bar and grill is not fun when it rains, the servers don't come out ... Read more

We have just returned from 10 days of wonderful Antiguan sun & hospitality. Didn't pay for water front room as needed 2 rooms, 1 for us & the other for our 18 & 14 year old's. Pleased we didn't pay extra as our rooms 213 & 214 were in perfect location close to adult pool where we could change our beach towels daily, 2 minute walk to restaurants & 5 minute walk to beach. The staff here work extremely hard & I cannot understand why some reviews give them a hard time. Our phone wasn't working when ... Read more

We were overly excited about our visit to the island of Antigua and our stay at the Verandah hotel . Although we loved the island , our experience at the Verandah was not what we expected , for the money that was paid . Some of the staff we came in contact with, needs great improvement in "Customer Service Skills ". They gave you a feel as if you were bothering them . One night my wife and I called for a golf cart to be transported to the front area . When the driver arrived there was another s... Read more

We recently returned from the Verendah and can honestly say that the resort itself is very nice. We went to this resort on our honeymoon and I would advise anyone who is considering the same to be aware that there are a lot of children and teenagers. Not necessarily a con, but just a note. PROS - The rooms are spacious, very clean with large beds and bathrooms. - Both beaches at the resort are very different which works. rasta beach is nice and quiet while main beach is more lively, more child... First visit to Antigua and loved it. Read lots of reviews before and was unsure what to expect as they all seem fairly mixed. For a resort the size of the Verandah it never seemed too busy, whether by the beach or the pool. We didn't have any problems getting sun loungers whatever time we got up. As everything is nicely spaced out it doesn't feel like a hotel and all the time we were there we felt totally relaxed. Reading other reviews I can understand people's comments regarding staff, some... Read more

Excellent resort for a relaxing break. Two beaches means it's easy to find quiet time on one or activities on the other a choice of two beach bars/snack bars and three restaurants means lots of food options and our family villa was beautifully cleaned and well maintained. A great place for a holiday

This hotel was wonderful and I can't really understand all the negative reviews below. We have just returned from a fantastic 10 days family holiday here. The rooms are spacious, the beds are really comfortable. We stayed in the Hillside rooms 323 and 324 and I don't think with older children we could have been better located. It's near the main pool, gym, main bar. 5 mins to the beach and the beach bar and grill and minutes from the other restaurants. I would say if you have very young children... Read more

Our first trip to Antigua and we loved it! The Verandah is a beautiful place, perfect for what we were looking for: peaceful, spread out, personal villas rather a hotel room--overlooking the ocean...We loved the food, and that I could eat so healthy even while on vacation. Even though we were on the Atlantic side, the water was swimmable. There are natural bays that allow you to really enjoy the ocean. You can swim, boat, float...and enjoy the beach experience.

This was our first trip to the Caribbean for our honeymoon and we will be coming back to the same resort for our anniversary one day in the future! It was an amazing experience. Antigua is a beautiful island with amazing beaches, scenery and people. The resort itself was amazing with excellent service and superb facilities. It was a great experience we will always treasure

The resort is so big that you don't feel like you are with a crowd. Enough space to relax and enjoy. Two beaches you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a spot. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The food and drinks are good. I have no complaints only compliments.
