Lovely location with sea views and green tropical gardens. Great food from all the restaurants and very good entertainment for all the family. The beaches are a short distance away from the rooms.and provide water sports and sun beds. The resort offers many sport facilities including a gym, Spa, Beach volley ball, mini. Golf, tennis. The rooms are spacious and have large bathroom, veranda and comfortable furnishing. I can highly recommend this resort for everyone and is set in a idyllic location... Read more

Spent a week early this month @ the Verandah Resort. Everything was perfect, even the food. We have gone to several all inclusive resorts & this was the best one. Accommodations in cottages were so nice & large. Also spent a week @ The St. James Club, a sister resort. Liked the Verandah so much better. Truly a restful & relaxing atmosphere.

Great holiday and wedding resort with excellent food, drinks and 1st class staff. The resort is very clean we great views over the calm Sea bay, we got married on Rasta Beach a beautiful setting and the wedding planner 'Andrea' was fantastic. All staff in the restaurants and bars were very good with special praise to 'D'Angelo' and Kerry Ann. The water sports was very good, beach clean with plenty of sun loungers and towels. We absolutely loved our stay at The Verandah. The staff are amazing and so friendly. The room was huge the bath was massive. All rooms have some kind of sea view so I don't think a upgrade was worth it. We loved the main beach and used all of the water sports which where really fun. The beach bar was amazing for drinks and lunches (we didn't go there for dinner but you can) I used the gym which really needed some air con. It was basic but good enough for a quick work out. The main lobby when you first enter is beautiful and sets "vacation mode." It's all outdoors but covered and there is a golf cart waiting to take you to your house/room. Checking in took us only 5 min (prefer visa or MasterCard even though it says they accept discover). When we were being driven to our room the escort explained where everything was on the way. Luckily we were right by the main pool which is within a 1-2 min walk to everything (beach, pool, main bar and restaurants). The rooms we... Read more

This was our 4th visit here, and things just keep getting better! Had a waterfront suite, fab view over the watersports beach. We had requested a rollaway bed and this had been duly supplied. Room lovely as always, food scrummy we ate in all the restaurants. Drinks were good, grounds immaculate, not too busy even though it was half term (UK) and there were lots of wedding parties. We enjoyed the 'new' beach bbq, this just needs tweeking a little as it was only the 4th time they had done it but w... Read more

It all starts with a real welcome including iced flannels, rum punch and then a golf buggy for you and your luggage to your suite. The property consists of villas scattered along a lovely stretch of coastline within two bays. It's probably a mile from one end, reception, to the other, the main beach and water sports area, but this doesn't matter as there are fleets of golf buggies cruising the resort and although we had determined to walk as much as possible to lessen the effects of the all incl... My husband and I just returned from a fine vacation here. The property has a basic mid range foundation but built upon it are some very nice high end surprises. The scenery is spectacular. The landscaping is lush. The food is well above average and the home grown produce very well prepared. The pastry chef makes outstanding baked goods for breakfast and a dizzying array of desserts. My husband and I stayed at the Verandah for our 15th wedding anniversary. This was our first time doing an all inclusive. I did a lot of research prior to booking, not only in Antigua, but looking at other all inclusive options. For my husband and I, we wanted a resort with accommodations that were a little different than a hotel, but still many of your larger hotel offerings. The Verandah had that for us! The Verandah is a very unique all inclusive resort... As it is not quite all-inclusive or have the necessary amenities to make it an all inclusive. Let's first get the negatives out of the way: The rooms need touching up as far as the accommodations are concerned. The beds are hard as a rock, bathroom area was not sanitary when we arrived. I'm sure almost all of the reviews you've already read about this resort said the same thing I'm about to say. GREAT location, GREAT property and pool, pretty great food for an all inclusive, but the staff are not friendly. We're not sure if it's just their culture or if they don't like their jobs, but very few staff we encountered on our nine day family vacation, were very friendly.

My husband and I have travelled all over the world (24 countries for him, 14 for me) and we consider ourselves pretty good judges of places to stay, and eat. And I honestly don't know what the people giving Verandah a bad review are talking about. We came here for a week's vacation and loved it. Sure there are things that could be changed: the wifi really is close to terrible. Some things in the rooms need to be fixed or updated: loose towel racks, leaking showers, not enough lighting. I arrived home yesterday from The Verandah Resort and Spa and cannot believe this hotel has a certificate of excellence and good reviews! My review is negative but honest and is designed to point out a lot of pointers that nobody else has made readers and potential guests aware of so here goes........ First and foremost you have to pay for water!!! $5 per bottle at that. I could not believe that our room had a fridge and it remained empty for the whole trip. Being an all inclusive I expected a... I realised a long standing ambition of mine this year, to visit the Caribbean and by coming to the Verandah, I wasn‚??t disappointed at all. We visited as a family with two active older teenagers, and I was a little concerned that they might find it a bit quiet and not much going for them, and although it was a little more relaxed than some we have been to over the years, there was plenty to do and they managed to meet a few people of a similar age that they could mix with. This resort is in a great location the layout allows for spectacular views of the ocean and bay, however some things were not up to mark. When we arrived on July 31, 2016 it was raining which was ok, however we got soaked in the golf cart this could have been prevented by placing side plastic covers for when it rains. We went to this resort on our honeymoon and I would advise anyone who is considering the same to be aware that there are a lot of children and teenagers. Not necessarily a con, but just a note. For a resort the size of the Verandah it never seemed too busy, whether by the beach or the pool. We didn't have any problems getting sun loungers whatever time we got up. Our first trip to Antigua and we loved it! The Verandah is a beautiful place, perfect for what we were looking for: peaceful, spread out, personal villas rather a hotel room--overlooking the ocean...We loved the food, and that I could eat so healthy even while on vacation. Even though we were on the Atlantic side, the water was swimmable. There are natural bays that allow you to really enjoy the ocean. You can swim, boat, float...and enjoy the beach experience.

The place was not overbooked and it was set-up like a small town which made it feel more secluded since the huts had a lot of space between themselves. There were two beaches that access was available to the guests. Once beach was shared with the public but it was still very peaceful. We were also very close Devil's Bridge which is literally within a 10-15 minutes peaceful walk from the resort. The water was crystal clear! The food at the resort was very good and well prepared. Lovely place well kept, good sized rooms more like suites if a little tired looking in places. Good restaurants especially Nicole's, used buffet for breakfast which was excellent lunch was usually beach or Rasta bar both were good with really nice and friendly staff which was the same throughout the resort. Would I go back definitely it was very relaxing not crowded either maybe because we were just before their season started but all in all lovely holiday.

A group of 15 of us travelled to the Verandah in Sept for our wedding. We were originally booked for the Pineapple Beach however this closed for refurb. The Verandah is a lovely hotel and you cannot fault the staff or facilities however being a returner to the Pineapple Beach I am slightly biased. The beaches at the verandah aren't exactly easily accessible, one via stairs the other requires a golf buggy trip or walk in the heat up and down hill. It's not always easy to get around the resort b... Read more

We was a little anxious for our visit to the Verandah because as a lot of people do is look on trip advisor and the bad reviews always seem to stand out. I had an awesome time at the Verandah! Upon arrival, check in was smooth - handed a cold towel and a drink. The property is vast so they take you to your room in a golf cart. The rooms are large, include all the comforts of home and more - not very modern but clean and charming.
