The hotel has many good points, the breakfast was great, the private beaches lovely and it was generally very clean. The not so good points, the lunch and evening meals not great, drinks not great and we did not get the room we originally booked. They did move us after our first night. It's quite disappointing that they charge for WI-FI in the rooms when we paid quite a lot for an all inclusive deal. The resort is also in desperate need of re-furbishment. There is very little around it to g... Read more

We loved our stay at the Verandah Resort & Spa! We had never been to Antigua before and didn't know much about the island until we visited on chance after winning a trip to this resort. The island is stunningly beautiful and there's really such a wonderful variety of things to do and explore. We loved lounging on the beach, poolside, and in our beautiful suite; we equally enjoyed a sightseeing trip during which we learned about the history, economy, and landscape of the island (which is so ri... I am not surprised that the reviews have a huge range in ratings. We have traveled A LOT (full disclosure at the end) and see how some would rate Verandah a 3 star resort and others a 5 star resort. It depends on what you have previously experienced. Positives: -Beautiful piece of rolling waterfront land. Well-maintained grounds and pools. -Spread out resort-plenty of privacy and space. Two beaches protected from wind and waves. The peaceful main beach has sail boats, kayaks, stand-up paddle su... Read more

My family visited this resort Jan 2017. This was our first time traveling internationally with our 8 month old. Not only did we enjoy the resort but our daughter had a blast. This resort is gorgeous. Boasting 2 beaches you have a choice to no matter where you are on the resort. If you are up for a 5 minute walk off the resort you have a third beach to venture too. They provide equipment for non motorized sports. I was able to kayak from one beach to the other. We went with the waterview suite ... Read more

I could not fault this hotel at all as It was just all so perfect! I couldn't believe how friendly all off the staff were where ever you was in the hotel complex all so Friendly and welcoming. The food changed every night which was great as I am a very fussy eater I always managed to find something to eat. There was always so ... Read more

This place for us was absolute paradise from start to finish, a cold glass of rum punch on arrival, very friendly receptionists, and set in beautiful surroundings. A happy fella in a golf cart, took us on a guided tour of the resort, before dropping us to a very nice sized apartment with beautiful sea views. The room was immaculate, great sized bathroom and big balcony. The whole resort is well chilled, don't go here if you want to party! The food and drink in all the bars was spot on, and Vera ... We stayed at the Verandah Resort for our honeymoon 1/8/17 through 1/15/17. The staff from the very start was unhelpful, and at times rude. At first, they did not have our reservation or could not locate it. We were then given a room with screaming children next door. We politely requested a room change (as we were on our honeymoon), which come to find out we were given the wrong room anyway‚?¶for what we paid for. We repacked our belongings for the move to the new room (after travelling for... Read more

Our week at the Verandah was wonderful. The lodging consists of duplex cottages spread out over beautifully-maintained, garden-like grounds. Staff were delightful. The Verandah has two beaches with plenty of spots for sun and shade. The resort is located in a bay, so the surf is very gentle -- ideal if you're traveling with kids or if you prefer to enjoy the water without crashing waves. Devil's Bridge is just a short stroll from the Verandah. We definitely plan to return.
