We enjoyed our third visit very much, we knew what to expect although there were a few differences this time. Occupancy was lower than our last two visits, and many guests were repeaters. We met some nice folks. Mostly retired, Brits and Canadians. Not many kids. Lots of business and airline staff stay overs. The staff are all fantastic as usual and very accommodating. We requested a room in the wing off the lobby which we got..didn't like the first room location so we asked if we could move an... Read more

Just got home today, from a week long stay at the resort (Jan 8-15, 2017). As others have said, the resort could use some updating, starting with the pathways, to the rooms, to the lobby and pretty much everything in between. However, the beds are comfy, the towels soft, everything is clean, the lounging chairs are in abundance and most of all...the food is excellent, and the drinks are not watered down, and are free flowing. The staff are exceptional, and they made our stay, they are the absolu... Read more

Decided to take my grandson to lunch on his birthday and try out the well-talked about inexpensive buffet. Guess you get what you pay for. The choices were limited but the service was not at all bad. Roxanne ensured that we were well accommodated and told us our options. The breezy and relaxing atmosphere while overlooking the Caribbean Sea made for a very enjoyable afternoon. The chef and other staff members were very pleasant.

This place was perfect for myself and 12 other family members. Like other reviews will tell you, the grounds are not pristine or extravagant. It is a tiny hotel with a dedicated staff, beautiful views, soft linen, good food and a relaxed vibe that is second to none. tips - take the walk to the clouds for great view of the bay - kayak around the cliff to secluded beach. bring bread to feed fish on route - introduce yourself to Fenton on Day 1, he is WONDERFUL. so many other amazing staff t... Still here and I must say I wasn't feeling the love when the taxi pulled into the resort, it's dated, however the room was spotless and serviced daily, the food offer was great and yes I've put on a stone in weight! The staff are so nice and friendly and a special mention to the guy that wonders around in a shirt and trousers (maybe the manager) always picking up rubbished and speaking with the guests.

We stayed Dec 31 - Jan 7 for our first time in Antigua. We choose this resort for the location, price and some much needed relaxation. We were not disappointed. Halcyon is situated in the perfect location, surrounded by beautiful views and a perfect beach. The beach always had a chair available. Its public, but that only makes it better. Go down to the bar or stroll all the way past the restaurants (coconut grove was delicious) to a boat washed up on the shore. The resort is older and is not ... Read more

We stayed here in December 2016 for just a few nights after visiting another hotel in Antigua and one on ST. lucia. Lets start with the good points. The hotel setting is amazing on a absolutely fantastic beach of white sand and crystal clear sea. Nice sun loungers and new fluffy beach towels. The outside of the hotel is pleasing and the grounds nice. It was amazing watching the pelicans dive into the sea and lovely to walk up and down the beach. Now the poor bits. The hotel is very run down and i... Read more

Ok. Rooms are dated, really need updating. However-? The staff are effusive and genuine in their welcome and delight at you visiting. Food is delicious and lots of it. The beach is stunning, clean and safe. Bed linen and towels are immaculate, rooms are cleaned daily. Nothing is too much trouble at the halcyon, it really is a delight. And seriously, why come on holiday to sit on your iPad or phone, I for one am chuffed that internet is not freely available.

The location is great. The hotel does need some updates but the staff more than makes up for any outdated decor. We had a room with a pool view. Very much the best rooms to stay in. If you read all of the horrible reviews you may be scared as were we. Let me tell you the truth if you need the most updated rooms and pristine facility don't stay here. The location is beautiful but old. The walk ways are a bit cracked but not hard to walk on. If you are good with an older room lacking updates such... Read more
