Hotel and location very handy. Room was large, very clean, King bed, surprisingly nice view of the sea even tho it said "restricted view" when we booked. Lovely beach right by hotel and lovely walks. Pleased with the all inclusive buffet meals and never ending free cocktails n wines. Can't complain when u get 3 good full meals a day plus afternoon tea but reading some reviews people still do complain. They don't want to pay more and yet expect a 5 star hotel. Yes the rooms do look a bit tired... Read more

A nice location with some issues. The owner has let this hotel fall into a said site with the lack of renovations as the rumour is they are thinking of selling but are not sure yet. Hopefully they will decide soon so nessecary upgrades can be completed. The rooms are very tired as well as the property. The good news is the staff for the most part are great, Errol at the bar was especially nice. The food very good. Not a huge selection but what was there was great which changes everyday. The be... We've just returned from a lovely week at Halcyon Cove. When we checked in, we were given a room that wasn't quite what we'd hoped for due to an error; this was quickly remedied and we had a lovely ocean view from room 354. This did require the use of 2 longer flights of stairs, but it was worth it to get the view (see photo below). Our room was on the top floor so the ceiling was vaulted which gave a sense of airy-ness; it was also very comforting to listen to the rain as it fell onto the roof... Read more

This was not our first trip to Antigua but the first to this resort. The staff were extremely helpful and happy. There were a few minor maintenance problems with the room but they were resolved within an hour. Although the rooms were basic they were large and kept extremely clean. Extra towels, shampoo, soap etc were readily available on request. The food was very good and if you have special dietary requirements these can be met without problem. Please speak to the Executive Chef Brian Joseph w... Read more

My partner and I stayed here in early January. We only have great things to say about it! The staff were fantastic! Errol in the bar, Ferdan seemed to do just about anything, Jesse the DJ and Suzette on reception (i'm not sure that is her name on reflection) just to name just a few. Every member of staff we came across were fantastic and friendly and were always quick to stop for a quick chat. The room we stayed in was great we had a poolside room that had a view of the beach and the sea. While... Read more

Just got back from this hotel. Was the most disappointing out of all the All Inclusive hotels I have been to. When we got to the hotel been told that the room will be with king size bed although we requested double. I said we do not want king size, we need 2 double beds. The lady at the reception said there are no double, there are only 2 single beds. I was not impressed, from my face she probably realised i will not be having it, so she found us a room with 2 double beds. It was actually 2 room... Read more

Well, I have finally got round to putting some comments down about this lovely place, which is almost getting like our second home. 6 times in 8 yrs. We know this resort could do with a few tweaks here and there,...... you would too if you were 50 odd years old. The hotel may not have the financial resources of the juggernaut next door, but what it does have, is some of the finest staff you could ever wish to meet working for it. This place oozes friendliness on a huge scale, right from the top ... Read more

So I have to start out by saying at first I was a bit worried about reading all the bad reviews. But regardless I heard Dickenson Bay was beautiful and we couldn't afford Sandals prices. We booked the most basic standard room for just a little over $200 a night. We were checked into room 387 just off the main lobby, as other reviews have stated the rooms have not been updated for a long time, but the sheets, towels, and room was clean! And bed was comfy. The real gem is the location, on the bea... Read more

This was our first visit to Antigua and the Halcyon cove by Rex. We read the reviews previously written on trip advisor so knew what to expect when it came to the accommodation . Yes it was in need of TLC as far as the bathroom was concerned with the shower surround poorly finished and the slow draining of the water away but the bedroom was great. Very comfortable and large bed and very clean. What was a surprise was the quality of the food and the fantastic staff. I would be lying if I said I w... Read more

A two week vacation at this resort. Good points - Good porter service on check-in. Great beach location, fabulous staff throughout especially in the restaurants, bars and entertainment areas. We can recommend the daily 'aquarobics' session with Dave and Fenton. Fair size pool cleaned daily. Warri Pier restaurant was open part-time to serve al a carte dinner but a US$100 SURCHARGE for a steak (even more for lobster!) was prohibitively expensive. The dress code here set by the hotel was total... Read more
