The Butterfly Conservatory: November 01, 2014 May 25, 2015. Dense humidity, lush green plants, and tropical butterflies of every color filling the room who'd guess this is New York City in the middle of winter? This is one of the museum's most popular annual seasonal exhibitions
Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs - April 5, 2014 January 5, 2015. Visitors will see pterosaurs up close on land, in the sky, and flying over water. The exhibition will have a special focus on flight, comparing pterosaurs to birds and bats in particular and exploring both similarities and differences. Fossils of pterosaurs and other speciesdinosaurs, fish, turtles, insects, and more as well as casts, lifelike models, videos, hands-on interactive and other exhibits will bring pterosaurs to life.
Natures Fury: The Science of Natural Disasters - November 15, 2014-August 9, 2015. From earthquakes and volcanoes to hurricanes and tornadoes, natures forces shape our dynamic planet and affect people around the world. Natures Fury will uncover the causes of these natural disasters, explore the risks associated with each, and examine how people cope and adapt in their aftermath. Interactive displays and animations will help visitors understand how natural phenomena work. By monitoring earthquakes around the world in real time, manipulating an earthquake fault, generating a virtual volcano, standing within the center of a roaring tornado, and exploring the power of Hurricane Sandy via an interactive map of New York City, visitors will for future events.
