The main activity you will be able to enjoy on site is the elevated boardwalk which is a 1.2 km long raised wooden trail through the primary forest. The Boardwalk is a raised wooden trail through the primary forest. Visitors on this tour may be led by an expert naturalist guide or travel alone with a comprehensive self guide book. This is the only elevated boardwalk in Costa Rica! Handicap accessible, with a distance of 1.3 km through the primary forest it is secure and safe above the forest floor. Cinco Ceibas has some of the largest trees in the country, these magnificent trees may be 300 to 500 years old, one species the giant ceiba tree, are considered sacred by the indigenous cultures, Costa Rican almond trees, ceibas, and many other species shelter, green macaws, toucans, and hundreds of endangered species live here. Also included in this combo package is a guided horseback ride through protected rainforest and secondary reforestation to admire the flora and fauna of this region. At the horse stables you will receive safety instructions and a helmet. Depending on your size and weight, the guide will choose a horse for you. The trip takes you though pastures first where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the volcanoes in the distance and the Chaperron Mountains. It meanders through the reforestation and eventually along the jungle on the boarder of the Rio Cuarto. The horses are tame and anyone who is in reasonable physical shape can take the ride.
